  1. Philly, if my hernia repair is healed enough, or at my parents house
  2. My story is very close to this one. I knew that I would soon be a huge Sioux fan as I followed TJ at Warroad and couldn't wait to see him wear green. It was awhile before he got there and a couple buddies invited me to a game vs the Bulldogs. I was pretty excited with that because I grew up in the sticks north of Orr, MN and we only got one channel, which played UMD home games. We got to the arena and I couldn't believe how much nicer to was than all of the tiny HS rinks that Id watched games in. We sat a few rows behind the UMD bench and I couldn't believe how fast and hard hitting the Sioux played. Pretty soon, I was driving over by myself from Bemidji to watch games whenever I could and as said above, Oshie just solidified my love for the green n white
  3. When there is another Sioux screw job on a penalty call (Rocco tripped, then cross checked) and you tell your wife, "I can't wait to see what the board has to say about this!"
  4. Recovery is slowly coming along. Just pondering if I'll be recovered enough to book a flight in oh say ten days or so
  5. Well played, sir. Im recovering from hernia surgery so it was to be expected that typing on a tablet on vicodine wouldnt bode well for my grammar!
  6. I have never understood all of the hatred towards Ham. At a certain point , coaches coach and players play. Making the Frozen Four six of of ten is amazing. He gets them there and the boys need to perform. The senior yr for the Pony Express was an unreal team and they didn't get it done and somehow Ham gets the blame. He always manages to get the team playing very well by yes end and this year is probably his best job ever. This team lacks the typical top tier talent and yes gotten them to buy into the system and play as a team. I'm in the group of anything from here is just icing. I don't think anyone saw the 4-7-2 team having a shot at the NCAA title
  7. Hes probably already trying to drink away the nerves from the thought of Holy Cross II happening.
  8. My buddy wanted me and the wife to come watch some band after the games and I passed because I didn't wanna be walking around that area late at night...guess that was a good call
  9. Scheels does as well. Quite a few t-shirts left and very few hoodies. Hoodies were clearances at $30 last weekend
  10. There was a lot about the arena that I liked. We got upper tickets as I generally enjoy the higher view and I was very pleased with the sight lines. We sat lower in the title game and I think up top was better. I was bummed that they ran out of souvenir pucks. The "games" during the breaks were ok for the most part, but the chick urging people to flex, dance and kiss was pretty annoying. The all tourney team was a joke...one non-pioneer? come on Really enjoyed The Pourhouse. They made a wise business move being the official und bar. The pat downs seemed very random. I got groped pretty good, but they didn't give my wife a second look. Overall, it was a fun weekend and it should only get better as they work out the kinks.
  11. I live in Bemidji and he didn't look familiar to me Not that it means he's not from here. I actually run into a lot of people around town that mouth off when I'm wearing Sioux gear, which is always.
  12. Planned to leave Bemidji early Friday morning, but probably tomorrow evening with the sounds of the weather
  13. My wife and I have been together for about 4 and a half yrs and Trupp is her favorite by a land slide. I always tried to explain how amazing that play was but I could never find a replay. He was always working hard to make a play. Great guy too. I've gotten him to sign pucks for my wife and had him tweet her a birthday wish.
  14. I guess I just dont see it as being "worked over" WMU played hard and got it done. The effort didn't seem to be what most hoped it would be, but they dominated play on friday night, then WMU made adjustments. You don't win them all. As far as not being as physical as in the past, I would agree, but physical today seems to end in a lot of penalties. You dont hear about teams like BC are physical because they are too busy recruiting speed and winning titles.
  15. If Miami pulls off the upset, then the Sioux head to the Target Center as the top seed and last night matter even less.
  16. I made that exact comment to my wife during the game last night. That roads games are better because the more passionate fans travel and those who go to games to visit are at home.
  17. I could argue that it has too many team players. There are high end talent, difference makers that could be on this team right now, but are playing elsewhere...like the NHL. You can't just rely on the Gaarders to walk on and replace what guys like JT Miller would have provided. I think this team is playing well above it's talent level right now.
  18. I dont know if i would say manhandled and wmu is a solid team. They played much better tonight and if not for that shg, who knows. Awful tough to tie it up in the third once they dropped four guys back.
  19. I've always been jealous of some of the other arenas that seem to have everyone involved and ready to cheer. Amazing building, but an often underwhelming atmosphere. I've seen more playing games and checking facebook during games...
  20. Its amazing how the fan base goes on such highs and lows. Its a missed chance at the cup, but I'm more comfortable facing CC than Miami too. Everyone acts like we just got destroyed to end the season and there's no hope for a team thats top ten in the pairwise.
