  1. EWU beats Montana. Montana falls to 0-2 in conference and 2-3 on the year. WOW.
  2. That was a hard fought game that could have easily gone the other way with a few breaks. UND is a very good team that will make some noise this year in the Big Sky and I will be pulling for the whole way. As far as QB play, I thought your QB was fantastic. I do not know how many times he turn a sack into a first down.
  3. It was record lows in Sacramento that day. North Dakota weather? Probably not, but you got my point. BTW, I see your point, but your hair covers it nicely.
  4. My dad was at that game. He said Sioux brought the weather with them from North Dakota. He said he froze his @ss off.
  5. Cal Poly has a lot of new faces on defense this year, but I think we are much more athletic and improved on that side of the ball. We have a new defensive coordinator and while we still run a 4-3 base defense, he has made a few changes in secondary coverages and blitz packages. So far our defensive numbers have improved quite a bit over last year, especially against the pass. On offense we are only running out of the triple option set about half of the time. Our FB Umoh is not the bruiser that Romanelli was, but he has great speed and hands. He had a TD reception last year against UND (#47 last year and #8 this season) and a 57 TD run last week against UC Davis. At slot back we do not have a real burner like Mark Rodgers, but Deonte Williams is a more complete back and he is better between the tackles. He is third in the FCS in rushing yards per game at 161 yards. Broadous does not have huge numbers throwing, but can hurt a team that stacks he box. I really think this will be a great game. 5dimes had this game as a"pick em" which I agree with.
  6. NAU looks to be a tough team this year.
  7. It is nice to have an 8 game conference stretch instead of 4. What a unique concept of having more conference games instead of OOC games. While the Great West was a great small conference it sure is nice to be part of a large conference that just happens to be one of the best in the FCS. Glad UND is part if it with us.
  8. Is it Saturday yet? The wait is killing me.
  9. Thanks. I will have the lap top hooked up to the 52" TV.
  10. I am really looking forward to this game. I really have come to respect UND from our time in the Great West and I am really glad they are now members in the Big Sky. I think this is a game with two teams that are on their way up and it is a huge game for both. Tough break for Cal Poly to go back to back years in Grand Forks. Tough place to play and I expect it to be packed and rocking this weekend. I think it will be a shoot out so it will probably be a 6-3 game. Will the game be televised? I watched last year's game on Direct TV. It was well produced and hope it will be televised again this year.
  11. Poly will be a much better team in 2012 than they were in 2011.
  12. +1 I was hoping Cal Poly would get black jerseys with green numbers, but from what I hear they are getting gold jerseys with white numbers (like Georgia Tech) as a alternative jersey (for both home and away). The new road uniforms will be white jerseys with gold trim and gold numbers outlined in green with green pants with gold trim. Can not remember when I was this excited for football to start and I am ALWAYS excited for that. Best of luck to UND. Glad you joined us in the Big Sky. Now let's go out and show em how good the Great West teams are. I would love to see one of the Great West teams win the Big Sky in the first year.
  13. Tim Walsh at Cal Poly was making in the $190,000 range prior to signing an extension this year. I have not seen the terms of the extension. Although you can probably live more comfortably in North Dakota on $114,000 then on $190,000 on the Cenrtal Coast of California.
  14. Must of been posting at the same time, you are just quicker (2 minutes). I checked to see if it was posted before I started and there was not a thread. I guess great minds think a like.
  15. Link: http://www.fightingsioux.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=58640&SPID=6399&DB_LANG=C&ATCLID=205500105&DB_OEM_ID=13500 As an outsider I think it is a great move by UND. What do UND fans think?
  16. I certainly think UND is more than capable of beating Cal Poly next season (the Allerus Center is tough place to play and we are unlucky enough to have to go there two years in a row), but I would not put it down as a for sure win. Cal Poly will not take UND lightly and they will be a better team in 2012. Look for them to open it up more on offense and throw it more than 10 times a game. The defense will finally have all d-linemen recruited for a 4-3 defense and not the flex and they will have a 3 year and a 4 year starters backing them up at the LB positions. The defensive secondary loses Asa, but is deeper and more talented this season. It should be another great game, just like the last three.
  17. Great game. My blood pressure went through the roof. I thought when UND forced Cal Poly into a 3 and out at the end of the game that UND was going to score and win and they almost did. UND is a very physical team that is going to make some noise in both the Big Sky and FCS in the years to come. Glad you are going to continue to be conference partners in the Big Sky. Best of luck the rest of the season.
  18. Not sure about Asa. I do know that SUU threw for 207 yards in the first half with Asa in last week and only 90 in the second half with him on the side line. Last year Nico Molino and Bejon Samoodi split time at the other CB spot and I would guess that if Asa does not play they will be the starters. Vante Johnson has alos seen a lot of time at both CB and safety and he will probably see time there too.
  19. Thanks start2city and back at you. I was really glad to see UND go to the Big Sky with Cal Poly. Great fans and program.
  20. The only prediction I am going to make is the winner of this game will win the last Great West Championship before heading to the Big Sky. Should be a great game. Got to say the Sioux have to be the favorite seeing that it is in Grand Forks, but I can see it going either way. Wish I could be there, but will be glue to my TV. Is it Saturday monring (11:00 am PST) yet? Can not wait.
  21. Man I wish I could, but I have a 10 year old daughter who I help coach in soccer and a 7 year old daughter who also plays (both have games this weekend) and a wife who travels for work and is going to be out of town this weekend. I hope to make it to Grand Forks in the future. I would love to talk football over a couple of cold ones with some of the great Sioux fans before a game. I hear the dome there really rocks during games. It sounds like a great atmosphere for college football and one that I would really enjoy. You'll have to have a couple of extra cold ones for me before this weekends game. I really think who ever wins this game will win the last Great West Championship. Looking forward to fighting it out with the Sioux for future Big Sky Championships.
  22. Three more days. Can not wait.
  23. This should be a slobber knocker of a game. Mano a Mano. Strenght vs strength. Both teams excell in the run game, both teams defend the run well and both teams struggle a little in the pass game. The winner of this game will most likely win the Great West. Wish I could be there, but I will most definately be glued to the TV.
