  1. BTW, I am just having some fun with you SiouxMD. I think that UND is a real threat for the championship next year, but you will have to go through a very tough Cal Poly team and a UC Davis team that will be loaded on offense too. I can not wait for next season and I am really excited about UND and USD joining the GWFC. It looks like UND is hitting some homeruns recruiting this year.
  2. Keep dreaming little brother, keep dreaming.
  3. Cal Poly will give you a real good test next year. They return 10 starters (need to replace the left gaurd) off the number one offense in the FCS in 2007 (487 yards a game) and number six scoring offense (39.3 points a game). They were very young this season on defense, but return 8 starters on that side of the ball next season. Cal Poly usually has one of the top defenses in the FCS and I expect next year they will be back near the top. I am expecting a great game with UND next season. I really have a lot of respect for the football program at UND and coach Lennon. I know that they will be competitive from the start. The game against UNI in 2005 showed they could play with anyone in the FCS. I am looking forward to many battles with the Sioux over the years to come.
  4. From what I have heard, we have both NDSU and SDSU on the schedule and we are traveling to both places in 2008. I heard it from someone who is usually in the know about Cal Poly athletics.
  5. UND and USD signed on for a five years. I am sure that in 2009 the conference schedule will be balnced with 2 home and 2 road games. I am glad that Cal Poly has both UND and USD on their 2008 schedule.
  6. Montana State was probably the second best job in the Big Sky behind Montana. EWU is further down in the Big Sky and I think that EWU would be a step down or at least sideways for Lennon.
  7. Eastern Washington coach Paul Wulff will be named the new coach of Washington State Tuesday. Link: http://www.spokesmanreview.com/breaking/story.asp?ID=12724 Lennon interviewed for the Montana State job, will he interview for the Eastern Washington job?
  8. Cal Poly is traveling to Brookings again next season on the front end of a new home and home contract with SDSU. SDSU will be coming to San Luis Obispo in 2009. If Cal Poly is traveling to play UND next season it will mean we have two trips to the Dakota's next year.
  9. Congrats on a fine season. I am looking forward to UND becoming a member of the GWFC. You have a great program with a rich history and will be an excellent addition to the GWFC.
  10. You got it right. I am a huge Cal Poly fan. I have been following the Sioux from the distance since the GWFC was formed. I am looking forward to my first trip to the Alerus Center.
  11. I am pulling hard for the Sioux to bring the 2007 DII championship with them when they join the GWFC in 2008. I am really looking forward to playing UND next year and in the future. UND has a great program and is a great addition to the GWFC. Once again, good luck in the playoffs.

    Great win

Cal Poly is five hours south of Napa Valley, but is about a 20 to 40 minute drive to about 20 wineries north of San Luis Obispo. It is about a 10 minute drive to the ocean. San Luis Obispo is about half way between San Francisco and Los Angles on the coast.

    Great win

Cal Poly lost 4 All-Americans and two other starters on the defensive side of the ball and got off to a rocky start at Texas State. There are a lot of Redshirt freshmen and sophomores playing. The defense made great strides this last week and I expect they will continue to get better as the year goes on and they mature. Cal Poly traditionally has one of the best defenses in the FCS. As for the offense, other than the fumbles, I think they are much better than last season. Last year the offense struggled. This year they have a lot of weapons. Against Texas State 6'6" WR Ramses Barden had 8 receptions for 207 yards and 2 TDs. This week they doubled Barden and WR Tredale Tolver had 5 recptions for 120 yards and a TD. FB Jon Hall ran for 120 yards up the middle of Idaho's defense. Cal Poly also has to great wing backs in James Noble (2,587 yards in two years) and Ryan Mole (1,700 yards in two years at Sac State). I think that Cal Poly will turn it around this week against Weber State. The good thing is that Cal Poly returns 10 starters on offense and 8 starters on defense next year. Good luck the rest of the season. I am pulling for UND bringing the 2007 DII NC with them to the GWFC in 2008.

    Great win

Looking forward to having a great team like UND joining the GWFC next year.
  15. Very true, but I was just having fun. I am sure the writer at SUU meant know disrespect and was just very sloppy with his or her work. UND football has great respect in the GWFC and in the FCS. I am looking forward to the Sioux becoming conference mates next year.
  16. I would say that it was just the writer being sloppy. I would bet their SI dept. is under staffed. I wonder if he knows how to spell defense.
  17. That was the same situation going into the first year of the GWFC, but they worked it out. I am sure they will work it out for 2008. The big benifit in 2008 is that FCS teams can schedule 12 games so they have more flexibility than in other years.
  18. They will be in the GNAC (Great Northwest Athletic Conference) in 2008. The members are Humbolt State University, Dixie State College, Central Washington, Western Washington and Western Oregon.
  19. Nine teams vs five teams (would have been seven with the addition of UND and USD) and auto bid vs non auto bid.
  20. I do not know. The GWFC/Summit League could be a nice permanent home. The Summit League runs the GWFC. Being in the GWFC may help UND find a home for their other sports in the Summit League.
  21. I am hoping UND and USD go first and second in DII this year. I am looking forward to my first visit to the Alerus Center. How is the tailgating at UND?
  22. Welcome to the conference. I am looking forward to playing UND in 2008 and the in the years to come.
  23. Welcome to the top conference in the FCS/I-AA. I am looking forward to seeing UND and USD on the schedule in 2008. http://greatwestfootball.cstv.com/sports/m.../080207aaf.html
  24. Sure is quite. I thought this board would be buzzing about this.
