I actually think the new mascot looks great! One of my buddies was there and had a few pictures of his son with the mascot, and I showed it to my son and he was so excited to get to a game so he could see the mascot.......having the kids be excited about it makes it a lot better for me!

coaches and media polls usually are late morning/early afternoon on Monday. AGS comes out right around noon Central on Mondays.

Unfortunately as it relates to polls, slot voting is how most people do it and the entire resume isn't completely looked at. I vote in the AGS poll, and I've got the Hawks in mine. I'm guessing that UND will show up in the AGS poll, but may not in the others. In either case - polls don't matter and the team shouldn't get caught up in them. They should just continue to play their game and win.....the rest will take care of itself.

I contacted someone on AGS to see if he could help and it looks like he posted something on katfans. hopefully it helps.......

I'm typically not one to go over to other fan message boards, but surprised no other UND fans have chimed in over there (although I see lakes and TAB have hit the thread in expected fashion).......

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one. I really like the direction the OL is going, which was one of my biggest concerns going into this year. My other biggest concern, the defensive backfield, is still a bit of a question mark. I think we can pull together a full game and dominate in the trenches, and if we can get a balanced offensive attack and limit mistakes in the defensive backfield, we should have a great shot to win this one. I think my main concern with this game is special teams, and I think that if our FG kicking stays as is it could cost us a game, and this might be the one. I haven't seen how anything in practice is, but if Leach is capable and he's just not confident, he needs to find that fast.

In the UNDFootball360 "What's Happening" section of their website, they have this: "August 20th We have heard UND will name their starting QB by tomorrow, August 21st, which falls in line with the timeline we were given by Coach Rudolph. The Hawks begin normal school-time practices tomorrow. "

So, we seem to have a glut of DEs in this class. Due to Beach's size, is there any chance he ends up at NG? Seems like he could be a wrecking ball at DE though.......

I can understand the frustration of a fan seeing Geno leave, but I think it's best to just wish him well and hope he is successful in his next venture. I would have loved seeing him play his last year for UND, but it isn't in the cards and we need to move on and cheer for the rest of the team that is here. Good luck Geno!

I haven't spent as much time as I should to make a real good opinion, but my inclination would be for Chaves to be the man for the job, elevate MM within the department as kind of an AD in waiting type, and give Chaves the ball and let MM learn more in different areas of the department. I don't know as much as others about MM, but most that are connected have a very high opinion of him, but I just don't think he's ready.

That's only if the offers are reported by the kid - which he really didn't report much after he committed to UND. I know he had some MAC offers, and a decent amount of MVFC offers, but don't know for sure about the two listed above.
