I can understand the frustration of a fan seeing Geno leave, but I think it's best to just wish him well and hope he is successful in his next venture. I would have loved seeing him play his last year for UND, but it isn't in the cards and we need to move on and cheer for the rest of the team that is here. Good luck Geno!

I haven't spent as much time as I should to make a real good opinion, but my inclination would be for Chaves to be the man for the job, elevate MM within the department as kind of an AD in waiting type, and give Chaves the ball and let MM learn more in different areas of the department. I don't know as much as others about MM, but most that are connected have a very high opinion of him, but I just don't think he's ready.

That's only if the offers are reported by the kid - which he really didn't report much after he committed to UND. I know he had some MAC offers, and a decent amount of MVFC offers, but don't know for sure about the two listed above.

It's truly hard to know. It seems in a lot of cases the kids aren't broadcasting other offers after they commit to UND. For instance, it really wasn't known last year that Noah Larson received offers from a lot of the MVFC schools and a couple MAC schools. Most would have thought that he only had a UND offer because that's all that was mentioned. I know there are definitely some that only had UND as their D1 offer, but there are plenty that we just don't know what their offer list actually looks like.

Since he's only got 2 years of eligibility left, he's likely going to be an FCS guy. I would guess that he'll be heading back to Texas for one of the many schools, but he may look good on our two deep with Rodgers, Larson and Hunt. I'm guessing we have been/will be in contact to check on any interest. Other FCS destinations could be in the MVFC, such as Missouri State, Southern Illinois, continue the pipeline of UM transfer to USD, etc.
