Great series by the Wild. Hats off to them for a great series and playing some great hockey. They deserved this series.
-
I think Forsbergs hit on Gaborik is a sign of just how frustrated he is right now. The Wild have done a pretty darn good job of keeping him in check. He easily could have and should have played the puck and made a play, but for some reason he decided to take a shot at Gaborik.

The way the two teams have played, I feel Minnesota deserves the win tonight. They have come out every game and played their butts off and have worked hard. Colorado has pretty much gone through the motions until the final 5 or so minutes of the games it seems. Not taking anything away from Minnesota with that statement either, just stating the Avs thought they could show up and win a 5 game series here. Walz and Mitchell have done a heck of a job on Forsberg and what I feared from the Avs heading into the post season is rearing its ugly head...not enough scoring depth to make up for the Forsberg line being shut down. I also think Roy has been outplayed by Fernandez. Roy has let in some not so typical goals in this series. I don't think he or the rest of the team is mentally there. I think other Avs fans may feel this way also and that may be why you see the results in the poll as they are. I am not a big enough homer fan to not be able to see that Minnesota deserves this series based on heart and passion.

MinnesotaNorthStar, Do you think the Wild should have stuck with Roloson, or are you happy with both guys in net? As much as I do like Fernandez and think he is just as capable, I find it odd to be doing the goalie switch in the playoffs, especially when Roloson really isn't playing poorly. Tough call here because they are both capable goaltenders, just thought I'd get some insight from a Wild fan on it. This series is a tough one for me. My allegiance is, and always will be with the Avs, but you gotta like the Wild too. They are building a pretty good team the old fashioned way, and I have respect for that. Doesn't hurt that Roche and Bombardir and members of the team also. The reason I am Avs fan is because of Landon Wilson, I started really getting into hockey at the same time he became an Av, so the choice for me was easy to make. I would like to see a couple more games in this series, and get back to Minnesota and hear that crowd again. Nice to see NHL hockey and playoff hockey back in Minnesota.

MinnesotaNorthStar--- Is Dieter Kochan still in the Wild organization. I am pretty sure he was at some point, hopefully I am not just smoking crack or something.

Thanks a lot for the link, that is the one I was looking for and I kept getting the mini version of that store. Much appreciated

I am looking for a place I can buy some stickers with the Fighting Sioux Logo on them. I am looking to put them on my computer case on the side panels, so they would have to be big enough to fit the side of a computer tower. I am thinking anywhere from 12X12 to 16X16. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

From what I have read online and such, it sounds like both Pohl and Panzer are having pretty solid seasons. Panzer netter the first Worcester hat trick in an OT win the other night and Pohl also had a couple goals in that one. Sejna-Panzer-Pohl would be a scary line, yet another reason the WCHA rules. I am just glad Pohl is gone because I was getting tired of the "Pohl-vaulting our way to a national title" thing some Gophs had going when he was playing.

That is awesome. I am really going to miss that guy next year. Best of luck to Kevin in his future. Great to hear he is making an impact right out of the gate.

My first thought when I saw this thread was, "wow, did it really take you that long to come up with your material." The Duluth game in the Final Five was weeks ago and this clown comes on here now and spouts off. A bit slow if you ask me, but that is to be expected I guess.

This did get amazingly annoying down the stretch. The fact of the matter was, some members of the team really didn't show up to play most nights. Many people also pointed out the fact that we were outshooting and outplaying a lot of teams, but not winning. This was true to a certain extent, but a lot of the shots we took were nothing serious or deadly. We didn't jump on rebounds either. We also didn't do a good job of taking advantage of mistakes made by the opponent, and unfortunatley, they did a great job of this. Ferris basically beat us this way, they capitalized while we didn't take advantage of our chances. I was also frustrated with our shot selection a lot of the time. I remember during the first round of the playoffs against Denver, I was getting upset at the fact that our D men would just shoot blindly into the DU defender and it would get blocked. All they had to do was make one shot fake, get the guy down, and walk around him for a clean shot. Some of this may have been the lack of experience on the D line, but I also think the D men got tired at the end of the season, we were not very deep at this position after David Hale went down. All this being said, I was extremely happy with the season. That may sound dumb because of how the last half went, but I really had zero expectations for this year. I thought we would be better than the year before, but nothing special. The fact that the Sioux had the hot start and made it somewhat interesting at the end, was cool. I was also pleased that Jake Brandt stepped up at the end of the season. I think he has tremendous character to come out after being criticized week after week, and continue to work and get better. Hats off to Jake, the late loses were not his fault. I am also happy with the play of Lee Marvin down the stretch. I think he got stronger and stronger on D as the year went on and he got more time on the ice. That is one good thing I saw come out of Hale's absence. I think Marvin will contribute next year and only strengthen our D core. I am excited for next year, as I think the Sioux will be a contender, and the experience they had with the NCAA's, although short, will be helpful. If Sedevie comes in and plays like I saw him play when he was with Billings, we should have a consistent goaltender to lean on, but I am not writing off Brandt yet as I think he can come in next year and compete for that starting job. Go Sioux!!!

I also will be watching for some great hockey games. I am excited to see Cornell and LeNeveau to see how great he really is. I have never liked UNH, so that takes them out of the who I want to win thing. Michigan can't win because then they extend the lead over UND, and that just isn't right I would like to see the Gophers take it because that solidifies the fact that the WCHA rocks. I also really like Don Lucia. When the Gophers announced he would be coach, I knew it would be a matter of time before they won a championship, and that has come true. He has always seemed to be a decent guy in my eyes. He is still no Blaiser though
-
I say Minnesota 4-2 over UNH. I hate UNH with a passion, but that is mainly because I had to listen to a UNH fan up here talk smack for about 4 years in a row, meanwhile, the Sioux won a couple national championships during that time and he continued to say Umile and UNH were the best team in the country year in and year out. Gotta cheer on the WCHA at this time of year to prove the conference domination, and honestly the Gophers are playing some pretty good hockey right now. The Minnesota-Michigan game should be a really good one to watch and I am excited to see LeNeveau from Cornell also.

It is great to see David Hale back on the ice for the Sioux. He looks way better than I expected with the amount of time he has been out. Great to see a guy of his character back on the ice and playing well.

I surely hope so, I am still pissed that Midco is only showing the game in GF, how hard can it be to feed it out to the rest of the State that has Midco? I am not sure why Fox can't cut into the qualifying for Nascar. They have a ton of races in a season, so missing the last hour of qualifying nonetheless, for one race shouldn't kill anybody. This is the hockey playoffs. Oh well, no use whining about it I guess, I will just have to be happy I get to see any of the game.

Sounds like most of the WCHA has good young players. WCHA is going to be fun to watch(not like it ever wasn't fun to watch). I was impressed with the Freshman of Duluth this year, Reichmuth is gonna suck to see against the Sioux for a few more years if this year is any indication. Future definitely looks bright in the conference. I envision the day of an WCHA Frozen Four
-
Watching Nick Naumenko light it up on D was pretty awesome to watch too. That guy has one hell of a shot. Seeing Teeder Wynne develop into one the best scorers in the WCHA was also pretty cool. Anyone else on here remember when Keith Murphy was Captain and he took off after, I believe it was Wallenheimo(sp?) and ran him into the net. I didn't see how it all developed because the play was moving fast the other way, I just remember seeing Murph crash into Wallenheimo and knock him back a few(at least I think it was Wallenheimo). I just remember every game with Wallenheimo was an experience like no other, that guy was fun to mess with. His little routine he did before each period where he would come out to center ice and skate backwards into the crease. He was a piece of work

The best things I remember about Sioux hockey are the tradition that the program has. It doesn't matter where you go, there are Sioux alumn there and 99% of the time they are hockey fans. That is awesome. It seems like no matter where you go, people have at least heard about Sioux hockey, and it isn't often that people know much about ND. I also loved the old arena(been to a few games in the Ralph, and it is a sweet arena, but the atmosphere just isn't there...YET). Walking from Walsh Hall to the arena in well below zero weather and standing outside in line waiting to get into the arena...sounds stupid, but those were truly good times. I wasn't big into hockey when I came to UND, where I grew up basketball was the prominent sport...but after my very first Sioux game I was hooked on the greatest sport on earth. I have a ton of memories from Sioux hockey games and good times spent with friends in the Ralph. Sioux hockey is truly awesome.

Nice call Diggler, that one was pretty sweet also.

That is cool, but I am not understanding why they can put it on Midcontinent in Grand Forks, but not all across the Fighting Sioux network. Unless I am reading that thing wrong, but I don't think so. Wouldn't it be just as easy to throw it out to the whole viewing area that normally gets the home games? Guess I will have to listen to the first hour on radio. At least I can see the end of it.

I had to vote for 5. Being able to yell "KEVIN SPIEWAK" after he scores a goal. Not only has he been a great player for the Sioux with tons of heart and character, but he has the coolest sounding name I have ever heard from a Sioux player. Bombardir is a very close second. I usually call my buddy on his cell phone when Kevin scores and when he answers I just let out a loud SPIEEEEEEEEEEEEEWAKKKKKKKKKKKKKK. I know, I lead a pathetic and sad life, but I live in Minot what can I say
-
Yes it does, considering how Duluth dominated the third in my opinion. We are finally getting the goaltending we need, but the scoring needs to be there also. Ughhhhhhhh
-
Why pass their, put the damn puck on net. Argghhhhhh
-
They are reviewing it, but doubtful we get it.
