UND95's Achievements

Newbie (1/14)

  1. One never knows on those late round picks, Henrik Zetterberg was taken in the 7th round, 210th overall pick, and that has worked out well for Detroit. Mind you, not the norm by far, but hidden gems are out there.
  2. I think that is a good move for Genoway. MN has too much invested in their D to give a free agent a real shot, which makes sense. I thought Chay has looked very good in the games he has played in the NHL, so hopefully he gets a shot to play more in Washington.
  3. Matt Frattin finally back on the ice tonight after his injury in the playoffs last year, has 2 goals through 2 periods of hockey
  4. Fighting Sioux hockey was my first taste of the game, as a freshman at UND. My buddies were trying to get me to go to some games and finally talked me into it during the MN series. Never looked back after that. The atmosphere was amazing, hard to not get sucked in. The pride and tradition of the program, as a person born and raised in ND, I love nothing more than watching an NHL game and hearing announders and coaches speak highly of UND. The final thing, and probably most important, is the UND hockey family. It brings people together. I cannot count the number of times at work I will be talking to somebody from another company whether it be an audit or some other type of business, and the topic will get switched to hockey and UND. There is a bond between hockey fans that has a special feel to it and it is fun to share in the good times and even the bad times, with fellow fans.
  5. Commodore is listed on IR with a groin injury.
  6. Rylan Kaip is on the Thrashers roster posted online for their team at the tourney as well. I wonder if Smaby will represent Tampa or if he is too old or something silly like that.
  7. Stafford with the game winner tonight against the Maple Leafs His 12th of the year in 35 games I believe, not too bad for Drew at all, good to see him getting a chance in Buffalo with their injury problems they have had, he is definitely showing them something for the future.
  8. The play of both Parise and Zajac for the Devils has been outstanding this year. Zach has really showed confidence the entire year, and has put up the numbers to show for it. Even in games he hasn't scored in, he has had some quality chances....I can think of a move he put on Toronto in OT to almost win the game, it was sweet. Travis has yet to look like he doesn't belong out there, even the smallest bit. I think the Devils are most surprised with his work in the defensive zone. We all know Lou is high on playing both ends of the ice, and Zajac has really been solid on both ends. It is early on, and he will still have a few bumps in the road, but if he continues to play hard and be solid in the D zone, I don't see him going down this year. It is a lot of fun watching him and Zach on the same line right now. Plus, it really gives the announcers plenty of reason to talk about the Fighting Sioux. Gotta love it when Emrick constantly refers to them as that, has to just bite the NCAA in the rear Too bad the Sabres are kicking butt like they are and getting production in some way, shape or form from everyone in the lineup, makes it hard to bring up Drew and give him a shot to see what he can do.

    News on Toews

Hawks just made a 3 way deal and picked up Martin Havlat and Bryan Smolinski. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=170991&hubname=
  10. I have watched a few Blackhawk games since Brandon was traded, he seems a bit lost from what I have seen. Definitely not on the roll he was before his injury in Ottawa. New team and system is what I am hoping, I thought he would have a great chance to showcase his talent in Chicago.
  11. Yep, Parise had one at the end of the 2nd that was reviewed...time ran out, kind of stinks, but he got it back Zach has been playing some great hockey lately for the Devils, he really seems to be getting a lot of confidence in what he is doing out there, and he has always worked really hard. Lots of fun watching him play. Hale has really been solid on D as well. I had almost forgotten how hard that guy can hit
  12. Bochenski has a hat trick and an assist tonight, the game is in the third period against Toronto
  13. UND Fighting Sioux------Single handedly taking Boston out of the tourney
  14. Does York have the balls to pull a Blaiser and pull the goalie?
