    UND Coaches Show

I should also mention that Zach, Brady and Drew were interviewed for the 6 p.m. WDAZ-TV newscast tonight. One thing Zach said about the World Juniors is that his leg (I assume he meant his knee) felt better than it had in a long time. I wonder if that has contributed more to his reduced scoring in the NCAA than anyone thought. If so, it should be very interesting to see him back to full speed against UAA.

What a terrible problem to have, eh?

    UND Coaches Show

Blais didn't mention the composition of any lines other than those two. My guess is that Prpich, McMahon and Fylling will be the third line. The fourth line is anyone's guess. Blais talked about the Marvin, Palmiscno and Hale line not playing much at SCSU, but he didn't say whether they'd be together for the UAA series.

I have mine set to "low," which seems to work just fine. I'm not sure what the default setting is.
  5. You're not? How can we possibly win?
  6. Live from Lola's Authentic Northern Italian Restaurant in beautiful downtown Grand Forks. Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman are the hosts with UND head coach Dean Blais. TH opens the show saying that the Sioux are now unanimous No. 1 team in the nation and have been No. 1 for the past several weeks. Blais said that after Friday
  7. And humble. Don't forget humble.
  8. UAA's penalty kill is rated almost as low as UND's power player. I could see it happening in the very near future.
  9. I posted this comparison of UND and UAA on USCHO and thought it might be of interest here, too. The good news for UAA is that they rank 46th nationally in average penalty minutes per game. The bad news is that UND's 57th-ranked power play (9.1%) won't be on the ice very much. The good news for UAA is that they have three players with 10 or more points per game. The bad news is that UND has 10 players in double figures. The worse news is that three of those Sioux players haven't even played the last four games. Bochenski alone has more points than UAA's second and third leading scorers combined. UND has outscored its opponents 30-10 in the second period and 37-12 in the third period. The only period in which UAA has outscored opponents is in the second where it has a 17-15 advantage. UAA has been outscored in the first period 22-9. UND averages 36.2 shots on goal per game and gives up an average of 21.6. UAA averages 23.7 shots on goal per game and gives up an average of 37.8. I have XP at home and at work and don't have that problem. Maybe you need to adjust your privacy settings under Internet Options.
  11. I tried shutting down NIS to watch DataFlix. It worked, but I also got a Trojan horse on my computer and it took me a full day to get everything back to normal. I have the latest version of Windows Media Player.
  12. Do you use Norton Internet Security?
  13. Still no go. I click on the "listen here" link and absolutely nothing happens. I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with my Norton Internet Security firewall. I notice that the link uses a Java script and I know NIS blocks some of those. I have the same problem when trying to watch anything from DataFlix.
  14. Using the WJC national anthem sounds like it would be cool. Unfortunately, I can't get any of the archived audio links on the USA Hockey Web site to work for me. The archived video highlights work fine, however.
  15. Thanks SiouxFanInBoston. That is a nice video. The best part is, you can save it and watch it as many times as you want.
  16. I am, but not on purpose.
  17. Here's a quote from the January 2004 article in USCHO Magazine by Jayson Hron:
  18. Some bad news for UAA. As reported on USCHO, two Seawolves have decided to leave the program. They are assistant captain John Hopson and defenseman Matt Hanson. Here's a link to the story in the Anchorage Daily News.
  19. I think David Hale's leadership role was missed more than his physical presence on the ice. I also suspect that David's health problems affected Ryan, the team captain.
  20. What a great victory this is for Team USA and the UND players on team. It's truly an honor for Zach Pairse to be named MVP, best forward and to make the all-tournament team. Now let's make it perfect by winning an NCAA championship.
  21. I'll never figure out how USCHO decides what they allow to be posted and what they delete. It's sort of like trying to figure out a WCHA ref.
  22. I agree. Use Fournier's comments as motivation to give UAA a sound butt kicking? Sure. Focus on getting even with him? No.
  23. Some of what Fournier has said in the media can't be sitting too well with the UND coaches and players. I don't think the Sioux will have a problem getting motivated for this series. Fournier has seen to that. If the Seawolves get swept (and I think they will), it'd be interesting to know how Fournier's public comments went over with his teammates. I recall Blais saying on a coaches show earlier this year that the players returning from Finland will probably still be charged up enough to play on Friday. But on Saturday, everything will start to catch up with them. For that reason, I'd be tempted to keep the top three lines together the way they were for the past four games. That way, if Parise, Murray and Stafford are tiring quickly, they won't have to be on the ice much and they won't slow any other lines down. I assume that after the way he played at SCSU, Brandt will get the start in goal.
  24. I have to go to Fargo (more specifically, NDSU) on Monday. Poop!

    SCSU Game 1

Hennessy commented Friday night on David Lundbohm falling down a lot and speculated that maybe he needs to get his skates sharpened more often. I can't remember if it was against Wayne State or Findlay last weekend, but I thought Lundbohm was falling down quite a bit in one of those games, too.
