  1. First: What the H-E-double hockey sticks does this have to do do with hockey? Second: Even though I am no fan of NASCAR racing, it has to be considered a sport. It involves endurance. It involves coordination. It takes a lot skill and a certain amount of athletic ability to drive those cars. The biggest problem here is people labeling sports they don't happen to like as non-sports. Just because you don't like a sport doesn't mean that it's not a sport.
  2. No. He specifically said the Sioux take retaliatory penalties because they don't like to get hit. If the Sioux were that type of team, you would have seen it during the Final Five in the game against Denver after the hit on Bina. I'm not saying the Sioux never retaliate, but if the Gophers think they can goad UND into taking penalties, I don't think it will work.
  3. Because I said so.
  4. We know that Harrington didn't like losing his jock on Sparky's shorthanded goal. Maybe that's why he felt the need to spear Stafford.
  5. Apparently Chris Harrington didn't like it when Rory McMahon named him Minnesota's most overrated player. In an article in today's Star Tribune, he says: While I'll admit that some of North Dakota's recent penalties have been undisciplined, based on my observation, they've mostly been of the overzealous nature rather than the retaliatority type. It should be fun to watch Rory and Chris tomorrow night.
  6. And it makes you roll your eyes?
  7. I blame Federov for his threat to leave SiouxSports.com during Frozen Four week. That distraction was of Hirsch-esque proportions.
  8. I agree with all your points and will once again draw your attention to stats that provide an indicator as to how the four teams in the Frozen Four have been playing in post-season. Before anyone bashes me, yes, I know the stats mean nothing. That's why the games are played. All I'm saying is that based on how the Sioux have performed in the playoffs, I like their chances against Minnesota and I wouldn't bet against them if they play Denver or CC.
  9. I did a search and found that the story is on the Herald's Web site. I've been told that Knight Ridder runs the Web sites for all its newspapers and requires them to use the standard format it developed.
  10. There is a story about the NDSU-UND baseball game on the front page of today's sports section. The Herald's Web site often doesn't include what's found in the print version of the paper. Sometimes there are stories on the Web site that you don't know are there unless you do a search for them. As I understand it, the Herald neither runs nor controls the Web site.
  11. I'm not nervous now. Maybe by game time tomorrow, I will be.
  12. Or maybe Ward Churchill.
  13. If my "sudo powers" worked, they wouldn't be sudo.
  14. You'd think that between my influence and Federov's popularity, the guy would get more than 24 votes. C'mon, Sioux fans, show Federov how much you care.

  16. What's wrong with this statement?
  17. According to this article: I'm thinking that if he was a star, he probably started a few games.
  18. I vote no. And since I speak for everyone except CRR, nobody else has to vote. The poll is closed. End of story. You're still here. Besides, without State of Hockey's inane posts, I wouldn't have been inspired to do this:
  19. Hockey Mom does have the best avatar.
  20. This seems like a good place to try this out.
  21. And jeopardize my sudo-reporter status? Heck no!
  22. You become an embarrasment to your state and your school.
