I can tell you one thing. The Sioux will have no trouble getting charged up to play the Gophers in a game that means something.
Let's also not forget that the last time the two teams met, it was UND's third game in two and a half days after playing two very tough teams. I still think the R&R helps the Sioux more than the Gophers.
There are so many guys playing banged up right now that a weekend off might be the best thing for the team. I'm sure that Genoway, Greene, Fabian and Prpich will appreciate the extra time to heal -- and those are just the players that I know of who are playing injured.
Remember back in January when CC swept UND and Scott Owens said he didn't want to play the Sioux when they started scoring goals? I wonder if he's sweating bullets now?
What an unbelievable season. Congratulations to the Fighting Sioux!
For the stats gurus out there, since the Feb. 26-27 series against Wisconsin, the Sioux are averaging 3.73 goals per game and 1.55 goals against per game for an average margin of victory of 2.18 goals per game.
In seven playoff games, the Sioux are averaging 4.57 goals per game and giving up 1.71 for an average margin of victory of 2.86 goals per game.
Do you think they're peaking at the right time?
I call that bovine scatology. There was a thread on USCHO in which many UMD fans were piling on Sandelin. I clearly remember reading it and thinking that Bulldogs fans were expecting miracles from a coach who took over a program at the bottom of the league.
You're a trolling hyocrite.
I've said this here before, but during the past two seasons, I heard Sioux players and coaches make comments about what great skills Colby had. Trouble was, we seldom saw them in games. This season, we're seeing how good a player he truly is.
I'm not sure where this idea comes from that the Sioux fans who post on USCHO are so much smarter than the ones who post here. Many of them are the same people.
A Duluth fan starting this thread is the epitome of hypocrisy. There were many UMD fans on USCHO calling for Scott Sandelin's head a few seasons ago.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
I alternated between Hennessy and the ESPN announers. Did Bill and Gary ever say anything about how banged up the Sioux were? I never heard them mention it when I listened to them.
I was very impressed with BC's team speed when I watched them against Mercyhurst today. But maybe they just looked fast because the Lakers aren't.
I'd really like to see the Sioux pay back the Eagles for the 1999 NCAA playoff loss BC put on UND.
Staying out of the penalty box will be key.
