  1. Oh, so thats why the MVFC never even comes close to sniffing the NC game. Because they are so deep and physical. Makes a ton of sense.

Other than UNI and bigtime cheating YSU, who has done anything, ever? Face it, your the Big Ten of FCS football.

Think what you want......but you are wrong as hell. Tell me who the power schools are in the sky? There is only one ....... Montana..... The MCFV is about parity, the Big Sky is not. Now......you better go back to your hockey forum. LOL! ;)

  2. Is there any doubt the Big Sky gets teams ready for a national championship than more than the MVFC?

Only 1 team in the MFVC has a football championship since its inception 1985: Youngstown State in 1997. The first year they joined the conference.

While the Big Sky has 3 during the same time (since 1985, even though the Big Sky has been around longer than that.) It might be unfair to include the Big Sky football championships like Boise State, Idaho State. and Montana State.

I think over all the MVFC is much stronger than the Sky. The problem is the teams pound the hell out of each other durning the regular season and injuries are a major factor by the end and it is almost impossible to run the table. When you look at the Sky, the only powerhouse year after year is Montana. After that it is pretty hit and miss. EWU was just a flash in the pan and will likely return to a middling Big Sky team. Montana State has shown more promise, but not with the consistent performance of the Griz.

  3. Few teams do especially a first year Big Sky team.

Sorta like MVFC teams against UNI, who has basically won half the conference championships.

But.......thats why the games are played. Nothing more exciting than an upset.

  4. The Bison will be just fine. There still going to get to host 2 or 3 games at the Fargodome. I have to admit though that their defense looked pretty ordinary today. I think they gave up like 500 yards. I am just glad we had our denfense playing for us today rather than the Bison's. Our defense was spectacular today.

Ordinary?.....The Herd looked like $hit for most of the game. Vigen called a lousy game and the offense failed to execute. The defensive secondary was like a leaky sieve (put that in there for you UND hockey guys), the offense couldn't execute for $hit. The Herd deserved to loose and YSU totally earned the win. If the Bison play like that in the playoffs, it is going to be a very short run.

As for UND.....it sounds like they are coming around. Work to do, but should hold their own in the Sky next season........but probably won't be able to handle the Montanas.

  5. Really - you have so little going on in your life, so little other things of interest to you that you spend time every day on a fan site for a team that you don't support and have no connection with? That's just sad.

While not a UND backer by any means, I would like seeing the "order" of the Big Sky messed up and the Montanas having to contend with another solid program.

  6. go away.. troll

Hey buckshot......I hate to make you cry......but I am not going anywhere. If you don't think UND fans are split on Muss......you better wake the hell up and smell the coffee.....

Hell, Bison fans are still debating whether the Bison are performing well because of Vigen (OC) or in spite of him. It would seem to me given the lack luster performance in the recent game against another NAIA opponent that fans would want to discuss this.

  7. It looks like Lennon aka The Stache is in trouble at SIU. There are a lot of fans calling for his head. I am rather shocked that he has not been able to do more there. Lennon is a top notch coach.

Soooo.......the question is ......... If Lennon is available, should UND throw Muss to the dogs if UND can get Lennon back?

  8. He walked into a ready made program at SIU that was winning in D1. I also believe he got a good bit more cash that UND was paying as well. You can't fault a guy for that. While Lennon got beat by the Bison today.....he is one hell of a coach and an asset to any program.

  9. As a Bison fan.....a Sioux loss to Montana Western would make me smirk......but I am a realist and it ain't gonna happen. It is interesting watching Muss get stuff on track, especially after the QB disaster last year. Kinda like....I feel your pain. Turn arounds can obviously be a lot faster than this fan ever realized. Get a few key positions covered, a little luck with the kids staying healthy....and somehow a football team appears out of the carnage of the previous season.

  10. UNC is the real indicator for me this year.

If we lose to Northern Colorado, Faison should start the search.

This will not happen. UNC is horrid. You guys need to get rid of this thread. If Muss get the Sioux playing a hard nosed running game with some great line play......the Sky will not know how to handle it.

  11. What would your honest answer have been between the end of the 2009 season and the beginning of the 2010 season if the question was posed to you about Coach Bohl? ... 3-8 season; DUI charge; team discipline (Best Buy) and all...

That said... so far, not so impressed with Coach Mussman and would like to see UND go after UMD's Coach Nielson.

I was less than complimentary of him. If he had not recovred I would have wanted him dumped. There were more than a few that wanted him out after that terrible 3-8 season, and what a mistake that would have been. I must admit.....at the end of that 3-8 year.....and if I was beered up.....I could have joined the torch and pitchfork crew. That is why the fans don't make those decisions. We are passionate and irrational individuals.

  12. Honest question to Sioux fans, because I have said it and other Bison fans have said it, but I haven't really heard anyone who is a Sioux fan agree. Do you think UND can ever get back to being an elite team with the current head coach?

Mussman has not been in long enough to judge his recruiting classes. Remember that terminating a coaching staff creates a whole host of problems and sets a program back. I think you really nee to be sure the current coaching staff can't get it done before making such a decision. There is a lot of football still to be played this season.
