  1. Other games you might be interested in are listed below. The start times are CDT and the channel is the Directv channel.

    Robert Morris at Monmouth 11:00 a.m. MSG+ - 635 (HD?)

    William & Mary at Villanova 11:00 a.m. CSNE - 630 (HD?)

Sacramento State at Montana State 2:30 p.m.

    CSCA - 698 (HD?)

Weber State at Eastern Washington 2:30 p.m. ALT - 681 (HD?)

  2. This was posted as information on the NDSU telecast.....

I know it will be channel 666 on Direct TV if you get the Sports Pack (or live in Illinois or Iowa as your local sports channel).

The regular Comcast Chicago is 665 but it will be on the 'Plus' channel.

As for the UND webcast......will it be free and what is the site that will have it? I usually stream to my home theater system via my laptop's HDMI jack. It works pretty well. Not quite like a regualar broadcast.....but it beats the heck out of the old days of just listening to an internet audio stream!

  3. Someone que the protesting Bison fans. Anyone else notice the only GWFC teams NOT in the polls are the 2 Cali teams. Talk about a flip flop.

Heck....I admitted they were not mistaken votes given two weeks of rankings. I just said I don't think UND has demonstrated that they are a top 25 program as of this date. Maybe I will be proven wrong this weekend. That is why we play the games.

  4. I would have to say that getting voted on two weeks in a row probably means there is no mix up between our two schools and someone is legitimately voting UND into the top 25. Now, do I think UND deserves that ranking.....Not at all. Beat SUU and I think you should be in there....

  5. In football, I know who UND plays next. It was mentioned all weekend with the UND score (and how SUU took down UNLV).

I literally have no idea who NDSU plays next. None. The media is infatuated with Saturday's result and not mentioning a next opponent. I wonder if NDSU will get sucked in by that. Never forget the most important rule of coaching: the most important game is ... the next one.

PS - I just looked on-line. Illinois State. And it's NDSU Homecoming.

That is a good point. Any team has to be focused. Reading the posts here by some people make me laugh at the bitterness and envy. So far, I think Dave is in the running for the worst case of penis envy among the UND fans. It is pretty obvious the Bison could be a damn good team this year. The performance against a MN was great and the Gophers were thumped pretty hard. But, the rough and tumble Mo Valley will still be a heck of a challenge. But, as Dave said......"slightly better than average I-AA team" exposed his clouded judgement to the max. I got a hell of a good laugh over Dave's denial that there is a heck of a good team down in Fargo. I suspect this will only get more entertaining as the season goes on. :D

As for the Sioux, huge improvement from last year...but not yet approaching the Bison. But, it appears that things may be coming together so you can make a statement when you start competition in the Sky. If you beat a salty SUU team this weekend it will covince more people that things are heading the right direction.

  6. It WAS an easy win, until about 2008. DII UND went to Cedar City in 2007 and dominated the game (I believe final was 37-10). They turned things around quickly, though. In fact, that program is the example I like to point to as proof that if a successful FCS program can be built there, it surely can be done here. SUU is closer to major population centers than the Dakota schools, but there are some major handicaps there that we don't face which probably more than negate that advantage.

Not sure if you have ever been to Cedar City......But I would think unless you are Mormon, it would be very tough to recruit there. Absolutely nothing for a heathen Lutheran such as myself to do for entertainment in that town.....or that end of the state.

When I used to go down to the NDSU games, I would always drive an extra hour to hour and 15 minutes and stay in Mesquite, NV. I would suggest that for anyone traveling to the game. The Casablanca is the nicest casino to stay at, and the Eureka is not bad either. The best value for a steak house is the one in the Eureka. Also......save a day for golf as there are some great courses down there. Falcon Ridge is spendy, but outstanding.

  7. Southern Utah was usually an easy win when the Bison were in the GWFC. From what I am hearing on the SLC TV channels, things are drastically improved in Cedar City. The win over UNLV is surely a high mark in their FB program. It looks like they are a very solid team and will be a great measure of UND in the FCS. A win would be key for UND.

  8. Wow, no respect for the Gophers. ???

    Bulletin board material?

I think they are underestimating Minnesota. NDSU has a couple key players that now will not play on Saturday......Eaves and Gebhart have been ruled out for Saturday. Eaves at free safety leaves a huge hole in the secondary that the Gophers could readily exploit and the loss of Gebhart leaves us with one less receiver. These are significant developments.

  9. What he said..................

This is an extremely important game. UND cannot play on Saturday like they did in 2009 against Sioux Falls and Southern Oregon. They need to whip this team with authority. They need to use this game as an opportunity for every player on the roster to get better for the next game. Good teams improve each week, regardless of the opponent. I'm not sure we improved from week 1 to week 2, but we did from week 2 to week 3. Need to expand upon that.

I'll be disappointed if North Dakota doesn't win by at least 30..............................

The team I saw last Saturday was deserving of a Top 25 ranking. I hope that the one I see this weekend is too...............

I would suspect BHS is in for a hell of a beating. The game is at home. The kids and the coach have a new found confidence after the showing at Fresno. I think the fact that UND is starting to pull it together could also make for some entertaining games in the GWC. Those teams (GWC) were counting the Sioux as a doormat and that appears to be changing.

  10. Strange then, that you are yapping on this board about the Potato Bowl, and not jetting off to the Super Bowl.

LOL.....this from the biggest fool on this board. Guys like Trex and I agree on very little, but the one thing we have agreed on is that you are a complete fool.

  11. Pretty sad when the NDSU vs Minnesota thread is more active on SiouxSports than the UND football thread. Kinda explains the small attendance numbers at the games, doesn't it?

    UND 35

    BHSC 3

It all has to do with the qualiy of competition and the success of the team.

  12. I am very excited to see where the line will be on this game. Before the season started I had heard that it was at +20.5 for NDSU, which seems to be free money to me. I'm sure come game day it will be released much lower than that. But lets just say I'm hoping that I can get NDSU at +20.5

Heck.....that would be worth throwing the entire 401K into.......But, I would bet it is not anywhere near that.

  13. Landcows

    Rodents

    Sioux

We have a 5 page thread discussing NDSwho and a terrible FBS team. We play neither.

Yet we had to have a bison fan start the thread about our Potato Bowl week. I see something wrong with this.

I just had a question about scholies and the transition for Black Hills State........I didn't want to start controversy......just ask a question......

  14. It would be interesting if not only the North Dakota schools were ranked higher, but if U of Sodak and Sodak State were over the Montanas.

BTW, are you a 'Pokes fan?

I follow the Pokes, but the program is so screwed up it is hard to be a fan......they are terrible. I would like to see them get a decent team so my kids would get to see a few good games while in college.....This weekend Nebraska is coming to Laramie and it will be ugly.

  15. Did "Pom Poms Kolpack" really go on the radio now to discuss this? What is his endgame in all of this - why is a Bison sports writer so worked up about this to the point where he is writing blog articles, tweets, and talking on the radio about it?

Probably becasue a lot of sports fans in the Red River Valley are talking about it..............

  16. I say this whole mistaken identity stuff couldn't come at a better time. Muss should tell his players let's prove those NDSU fans wrong and that we have a right to be in the polls like everyone else. It would be a good motivational tool.

It likely is a case of mistaken identity.......but this statement is absolutely true......what great fodder for Mussman to fire the kids up. Heck....they will be up for that Black Hills State game. ;)

  17. Perhaps the coaches were looking at NDSU's strength of schedule .... Lafayette, St Francis of Assisi and bye .... and actually thinking,

UND can have a blow-out weekend coming up, and it won't mean a thing (and potentially drop out).

Possible. NDSU has not faced any stiff competition yet. But, it is still strange to see UND rated with a win over a marginal team and two losses....albeit the Fresno game was a good performance by the Sioux.

But.....that is what these boards are for.....pontification, second guessing and arm-chair quarterbacking.
