How was the QB protection on Saturday? I'm hoping it's good enough that we don't get Zimmerman injured. The way things have been going this season that has to be next on the list of probabilities.

I agree, Zimmerman is the obvious choice if Studs is out next week, but I do have to wonder, was he playing against Montana's 2 and 3's rather than the starters like Heidelbaugh? That clearly would inflate his numbers some. I wasn't really paying attention to who Montana was playing in the second half.

This was my big fear and unfortunately I was right.

As good as that kid is, do you really think he'll stick with NDSU? By signing day an FBS school will snatch him up. He already had an offer from NIU I believe.

That's huge. I just hope he's fully recovered and not just being pressed into service out of desperation and he gets re injured. That would be our luck.

Then why show up at all? At least cheer the guys on, yell when we're on defense, help them out. I know this team sucks, but there's no reason not to at least watch and cheer.

What I want to see is the number of students still in the stands in the third quarter. It's hard to win if half the kids leave at half time, and we all know they've been known to do that.

We say that about every class. Some years it's true and some years it isn't and it takes a few years to find out which it is.

I'm questioning our recruiting as well, look at USD, they started the transition when we did, and were probably in worse shape than us as they were traditionally an underachieving program. I wonder how recruiting will go for Bubba next year if we finish 2-9 (I'm still hopeful we beat Sac State), and the other 3 Dakota schools make it into the playoffs? It wasn't too many years back I recall we didn't get a single kid out of Wisconsin and this has been prime recruiting for NDSU and probably SDSU as well. I sure hope this season doesn't drag us down again for years to come.

I agree with what you say. This is Bubba's third class playing right now and we are getting progressively worse. I sorta expected this a couple years ago, but Bubba seemed to do better with the Muss recruits. I don't have the answer, but I'm not sure the coaches do either.
