I recorded sportcenter to watch the highlights of the ISU-NDSU game since there were so few college games last night. I saw Boise, So Carolina, Western Ill, hell, I even saw Duluth highlights; there were no Cyclone-Bison highlights. I guess you have to choose your Big 12 opponents more carefully.

Same story as last year. Talented team that turns scoring opportunities into turnovers which turn into points for the opponent. Lack of discipline off and on the field apparently.

Now its up to the team to put up wins for the TV audience.

It would surprise me if the goal was to match last year's numbers.

I'd say we could insert UND into any of those outcomes, but I like 52-10. The touchdown comes very late in the game. I don't like this matchup at all in this stage of the transition.

Bison fans (or fans from any other NCC team for that matter) with history from the NCC days know the Sioux travel well, wherever they are playing. My son is ten. He and his friends tried to tell me the other day that the Bison and Sioux are not rivals. Fact is, since they have been old enough to understand and follow sports, there haven't been any (spare me the minor sports) games between the two. There really is a generation coming up that has no idea.

We know it makes no sense to you, but why exactly would it make no sense to the MVFC commish or the school presidents? There may eventually be good reason to take the UxDs, but simply because the xDSUs are in isn't the deal maker. Simply because there are other "flagship" universities in those states doesn't equate to MVFC expansion.

If this quote from a self professed Bison fan doesn't illustrate how this rivalry has been dormant too long I don't know what does. There's a generation of fans that has no idea...

You live in WF-are you a private sector employee there as well? My plan is to ask a hundred WF residents that question and see what the results are. Very scientific I know, but it's as ambitious as I'll go.

The problem for WF is they are too economically dependent upon Fargo as the employer for the new young families living there. Being a bedroom community isn't a solid long term growth strategy unless they can ensure the employer base in Fargo-and why do that? To keep their trend going they have to coax more of the employers, the kind that pay enough to afford a $250k and up house, from Fargo and into WF. I'm not sure the WF political base is up to that task. I asked Mayor Mattern last year who the largest private employer in the city was, and he didn't know. He only knew the school district was the largest employer overall. Developing the retail sector on 13th ave in WF is great, but those jobs aren't employing homeowners in WF.

I'd say this program needs an upgrade pronto! Losing to NDSU and Moorhead 15-0 and 17-1?

If you follow the links to the local Montana media outlets, the media interviews with those responsible for the legislation in Montana indicate they are ready to change the laws ASAP to keep home playoff eligibility. It seems Montana at least does not want a fight in this.

Not saying its wrong, but I have no idea how this number is calculated. Has there been a LAX game in ND that drew these numbers in the past?

I wish uncle joe would have been running the show at UND the last 10 years.

That's a useful reminder to everyone. NDSU used to compete for national titles. They older I get, the better I used to be.

As it pertains to titles, bison football IS history. The Raiders have actually been to a super bowl in this decade.
