Davis losing at South Dakota would be what those in the business refer to as a "bad loss".
-
Both candidates are freshmen that have never played a meaningful down in this league. How can you possibly give either guy that that kind of responsibility with such a small sample? That's way too much rope IMHO.
-
wow. not to the win, but the standings. That is bold.

It appears national polls aren't the only place UND isn't getting noticed. http://www.egriz.com/grizboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=62441 For a team that lost to UND last year, it is surprising they don't take the game a bit more seriously.

The jacks game is obviously a big one for the Green and White (yuck). But this is perhaps an even bigger game for the jacks given what they did last year and what they want to accomplish this year. Look at this from their perspective for a sec: if they want to reach their goals, losing a game to a Big Sky team, particularly one that is picked as a middle of the pack team, could really put them behind the 8-ball in the playoff picture. They saw how important home field is in the playoffs. Plus, look at their schedule. The UND game is on the 7th, then they play at Nebraska on the 21st, and turn around and face the ac on the 28th? If they lose at UND, not only does that home game vs the ac becomes a bit of a "must win" (as much as there is one that early in the season) in the home playoff picture down the road, but they'd have to do it after pounding heads with Nebraska? Not only that, but they book-end that run with a hobo day match up with Dale Lennon? I'd say this is a big game for both teams, but in very different ways.

North Dakota State defeated Sam Houston State 39-13 in the FCS National Championship to cap a 14-1 campaign in 2012, the second consecutive season in which the two teams met in the title game. The Bison will return 18 starters, including All-American selections Billy Turner at tackle and Marcus Williams at cornerback. The Bison also bring back starting quarterback and 2012 FCS National Championship MVP Brock Jensen who threw for 2,331 yards and 17 touchdowns last season. Wofford holds down the No. 5 spot, while Central Arkansas, South Dakota State, New Hampshire, Villanova and Illinois State round out the top 10. Six Colonial Athletic Association schools earned a top 25 selection, the most from any conference. The Big Sky and Missouri Valley each placed five teams in the poll. In all, nine conferences had representatives in the preseason poll. The FCS Coaches Poll is based exclusively on a voting panel of head coaches in the FCS under the cooperation of the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and is administered by the Southern Conference. In theory yes, but when your highest quality win is NAU, that would be a very tough sell to the committee. You really need to beat SOMEBODY that is good for a quality win. That would be my argument against some other bubble team anyway.
-
Both those lines will tighten by game week.
-
Saw a story on tv about their "yell leader" program a while back. That seems to have been a success.
-
We are gonna find out how good that nose is this fall when there is a frosh throwing to him.
-
This has been an amusing discussion of last year's defense. A related question: was it the "Casino" style baseball bat beating to the body, or knife across the jugular, or the bullet in the brain that really killed the defense last year? We witnessed them all.
-
Agreed. Ryan Smith made the list and he's hurt as often as healthy.
-
Look at the size of those water troughs on the sidelines...must be for the cheer team.
-
There may be some discussion about that in a different thread somewhere other than in the "New turf at the Alerus"?
-
Hey-don't you get it? Groupthink only here! We are implementing the bisonville model. Nothing is more exciting than a message board with monolothic thought and dull opining.
-
I think you're right. I thought KRYR was affiliated with KFGO programming up until this year?
-
Weren't they before? I didn't realize.
-
It really is amazing. However, just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean people aren't out to get me.
-
This is getting ridiculous. You cannot delete 45k emails without an electronic footprint showing exactly where that transaction is being made. Who ordered that transaction to take place is another matter.
-
How is that even possible anyway? Even if he deleted an email from his inbox, unless he directed IT to delete everything there must be a cached version saved. I mean, we tell young people all day long about being aware of their digital footprint, yet a college president can click "delete" and everything is gone? Doubtful.
-
I wonder if the other inmates chanted "MVP! MVP!" during his perp walk.
-
With that home slate, there is a staggering amount riding on the AC having multiple home playoff games. Better not trip up in those conference road games.
-
You think the AC has that kind of national pull with the NCAA?
-
Who woulda thought they would be the one to leverage those hockey relationships and play a hockey school before us?
