  1. Bubba is following the ac formula of running game and defense to be successful, I would suggest Faison follow their scheduling formula as well. Lessons learned.
  2. I am not willing to call for Faison's job over this. The before/after picture of what was going on in the athletic department prior to his arrival here speaks for itself. That being said, for Faison to accept a two road game deal in Fargo would make my blood boil to a point that it becomes too difficult to put into words. A two road game FCS deal. Not even a two for one at home? Nobody offers that. Nobody accepts that. In the NFL they talk about respecting the shield. Well goddammit, it is about time someone started respecting the Kelly Green and White (if we can no longer do so for the old logo). You do not devalue your program by agreeing to such unprecedentedly lopsided terms. Someone earlier referred to "whoring" out the program, and making the UND program their "bitch", and that's exactly what it is. It would be nothing more than a walk of shame down I-94 for those two games and then staring at a phone that ain't ringing. And then you know what happens? Every other program believes they could ask the same thing from you because you know what? You did it once...you'll do it again. Now other programs will approach their negotiations differently from the start and expect they will be able to low ball you because you are the whore that goes on the road for two games with no return. I'm not getting into a discussion with the ac faithful about this offer, as it merits none. It's a sham. A joke. I don't give a s**t about the legitimacy of the offers/counteroffers that have been made until now. This "offer" changes the game because it sends the clearest possible signal that your negotiating partner believes you to be a piece of s**t that deserves no better offer, and is treating you as such. End rant.

Market value is whatever someone is willing to pay. I wasn't taking a shot at bubba. My original point was that it wasn't expensive to get Bubba here. My second point was the fact Bubba was paid comparatively more than Muss didn't necessarily make Bubba expensive. The athletic department is simply getting closer to market scale.

Dyslexia kicked in between the SDSU/UNI games. UNI is the road game.
  5. I'm not sure I've seen a situation like this before. One team will grant home and homes to teams all over the country, but just can't seem to get it done with the one team that is begging for the game 80 miles away.

You'll get no argument from me on that. But that doesn't reflect Bubba's market value.

    FCS Preseason Polls

A good argument could be made for either one of them. It could be short lived at the top for both of them if they lose their FBS games because SELA will be 2-0 going into their Sept 13th game at Tulane. But, if the ac goes out and beats ISU, they will likely have a stranglehold on the poll until they head to Brookings in November. I don't see EWU winning in Seattle on Sept 6th.

    2015 Recruiting

I think the quality correlation lies more in the question of whether or not the early offers/verbals are going to those recruits you have ranked the highest on your board. Or put more simply, are UNDs (and everyone else's) early offers going to the guys they want the most?

    2015 Recruiting

Someone with more inside recruiting information shed some light on early commits. One school of thought says the early commits are a good sign as early offers go to those recruits highest on your wish list, so those verbals are the guys you've targeted with highest value. Some say early commits are risky as there's so much time to decommit if/when other schools come on later. Some say it doesn't matter. I'm just wondering if I should make anything of the comparatively low number of verbals I'm seeing so far, or if one verbal at this point is actually pretty standard from year to year and the ac has an unusually high number this year.

    2014 Recruiting

Mark it down: ISU wins in a close game at home because the ac can't establish the run, and gives up sacks/hurries. Despite talented RBs there are too many losses to the OL through graduation and now injury, and the OL hasn't had enough time to gel yet.

    2015 Recruiting

this is also why the game must be played on the field. Until UND can play the ac and prove otherwise, the perception remains these programs are still at different levels.
  19. Didn't we learn from the UND situation that more media scrutiny for position openings is not particularly beneficial to those trying to fill the position?

    2014 Recruiting

Generally speaking, with transfers physical ability and athleticism is rarely a problem. As LetsGoSioux alludes to, if there's a problem it is with attitude, work ethic, and ability to pick up a new system. Let's hope it is a smooth road for them and they make the team better.
  21. No. If you've attended the MN State HS Hockey Tournament you would understand why.
  22. Odd that the NDHSAA bothered to use their revenue numbers, as it is a "simple fact".
  23. Tournament games in an empty arena is a letdown, regardless of arena quality or city population.

It may also take a couple of recruiting classes to flush out all those kids that were home watching gameday from Fargo. As time goes by that picture won't be as vivid.
  25. I'll post this question here since it relates to the Alerus and football. Can't say I blame them with such a difference in revenue, but any thoughts as to why the revenue at the Al is so comparatively poor? Simply a function of walk up traffic due to market size? http://www.inforum.com/content/dakota-bowl-stick-fargodome-near-future
