    Why was no nickname not an option? The student movement in Florida does say 1 thing. If you yell loud enough the politicians will hear you. We UND supporter have taken every cut at this school from these guys and acted like they were the smartest people in the world. There good guys just doing what's right for the ND people. is it wrong to question there motives? I believe there plan is to make NDSU a 25000 FBS U and UND an 8000 distant cousin. We'll soon see if I'm right. Hope I'm wrong.

    The 8 10 12 buildings coming down on campus if I said here I have the cash save them. Would they say great or would they say no the cost of upkeep is to much. The 2 examples you give says nothing about the future of UND. If 700 a year more freshman at SU is the norm from here on out. More buildings will be torn down because nobody will be on UNDs campus. UND the internet school is the future at UND.Per press release.

    The Fritz needs a tune up. It would be a sad day to see it go. In the press release it says it may be replaced in the next decades. Which means UND will not have a building like this as long as we are in charge. looking at the funding to build the Fritz two thirds of the cost were private. With 1 Million coming from Chester Fritz. Watching and listing to the politicians in the past about private dollars being used to build buildings on college campuses they have said thanks but no thanks. We don't need the cost of the upkeep. Built with private unnamed sources is all you hear on the campus of NDSU. Never do you hear thanks but no thanks. Build it let the tax payers pay for the upkeep. p

    When Kelley wouldn't let UND no nickname as an option he one guy decided what the people students could pick.Would any of the studends people in this state like UND to have no nickname? How about a movemnt for UND to be unique be the school with no nickname .For a change tell them what we want. Tired of taking it in the shorts? Start movement. We are North Dakota.     If a group or a person with deep pockets doesn't step up and and call BS on what there doing to this university now in 3 years it will be to late. Cratter you are correct. And the Legacy Fund was not created to take down UND. Really you would have to be crazy to think that.

    When Fargo and the High Ed Board put Tony Grinberg on the School of Science Staff they have it figured out. Train school kids in Fargo and they will stay in Fargo. Is that kind of education the future for many of our youth?

    Not so many numberes. Lots of theories. When the Mayor and Feland were on the radio I asked them about the 10 Million and they varafied it. The city of GF has rarely complained about how the state has funded projects especially roads. As an old employee of GF once told me. We don’t complain much because we worry about UNDs funding. Now it’s UNDs cuts and no money for roads what do we have to lose. Hold a press conference and publically embarrass them. But that would take a guy like me who’s retired and can’t lose there job. Then again maybe they could go after your retirement.

    Don’t think you would argue this point. Both Fargo and Bismarck have guys who sit around and plan big. Grand Forks doesn’t have that group. Nobody here says a peep when GFs getting screwed. 10 Million in local tax payer dollars to pay for state roads. Not a peep from the local guys.

    Ya built with private unmamed sources near that a lot lately. If Sanford builds it again private money who could complain about that. Human nature tells us without a doubt every community wants things they don’t have. Elephant in the room is how the Bismarck politicians have been trying to change the state constitution to get there town into the higher education economic bonanza. They won’t quit until Bismarck State has everything SU and UND have. Heard a radio talk guy say if Bismarck State goes 4 year kids west of Jamestown and Devils Lake are all Bismarck bound if they offer there major. Does Bismarck scare the Fargo guys more than GF. How hard are trying to keep Bismarck State a 2 year? The question is what would a 4 year Bismarck State do to SU and UND? And if Bismarck State did go 4 year you know they would do the same thing SU has done. Keep pushing winning and complaining until they got what they wanted.

    High Ed board and Chapman told Kupchella to get the hell out of Fargo. Would they take a UND branch if it hurt GF maybe. They believe having there own in Fargo nobody would want to go to GF. If it was private future politicians. couldn’t touch it.

    Read Joe Chapman’s Wikipedia page to see all he did at SU. One that caught my eye was a new Criminal Justice building. Doctoral programs went from 18 to 44. And much more like you say. I believe there will be a Medical and Law School in Fargo sooner than later. Aerospace at UND will that remain the one program that isn’t duplicated? Grand Forks needs a leader with deep pockets to remain relavant like Doug Bergum

    Nothing wrong with South Washington from Burger King to the south. The older part of South Washington is old how much money would it take to more attractive? Can it be widened?

    Tom Clifford may have been the last UND president that was all UND that was the last administration I believe that couldn’t be pushed around. Apologies to Baker and Kupchella if that isn’t correct. Chapman and Brescani there job was easy. They had there back.
