  1. Going to the game...why not UND 27 Griz 23 Looking forward to tailgating with Griz fans in an awesome atmosphere...
  2. Thumbs up to that! The conversations have happened...it's just a matter of time and then we can all be happy the rivalry will once again play itself out!
  3. Not going to argue your point. My point is that money is not the only reason why things do or don't happen. If NDSU's offer even makes remote sense financially - it will happen This is why we need it to happen - Bubba gets it! I'm confident he will get it to happen...
  4. Never say never...Like I said Bubba wants this to happen. It is a change in regime. He feels the best experience for the student athletes is 70 miles to the south. If we can travel to San Jose, Wyoming etc. Why not to Fargo? It's not just about the money, although Faison has to make sure this makes sense as well...
  5. Odds are we play in 2015 and 2018 in Fargo with no guarantee of games beyond that. Bubba wants to play them and I think will help push us to agree to NDSU's terms. At this point we have no leverage, I admit that. Once the game is played I think the demand of the fans will help to push future, consistent games to be scheduled...
  6. If we can get this officially set up I will send my check ASAP - whatever numer I am. If EWU and U of Mont. can have an alternate jersey and helmet so can we. We need to think big in all aspects of the climb to the top. Does it win games...no, but if it creates further positive energy than I'm all for it. I like the idea of Black or Grey helmets to go along with the green jerseys... There are plenty of us FB alum out there willing - let's get this done!!

    Fire Muss

I spoke with Coach K, last year about the D - off the record. He was candid in admitting that we were no where near where we needed to be with the athletes on Defense and this was long before he was the DC. We don't have a pass-rush and no one that I see with the current skill set to do so. We looked slow off the ball and then did nothing once we drew contact with the o-line. DB's can cover, but choose to do there own thing far too often. That's an attitude thing and a team thing. Team leaders need to set that straight and hold each other accountable. Football is a great team sport, between penalties and stupid, selfish mistakes we don't play that way. The recruiting needs to be better on the defensive side of the ball and I agree Coach K is the right guy, but needs the time to make those changes. Hopefully Muss gets the time to let him do that, cause if he goes I think the whole staff will. Say what you want about Lennon - I love the guy, but his style would be even worse in the Big Sky. He might be more conservative than Muss. Most of us drank the Kool-Aid and thought that we could be a playoff team - we are not. Sadly with freshman QB's, no run game and no pass rush it will be a long year...
  8. I bleed Green and White, but was not impressed with the LOS control against Valpo. Keeping it under a 2 score difference could be difficult. I agree that the only way UND could end up on top here is with a shoot-out. SDSU 38 UND 20
  9. I say we try to get the green jerseys and also the old school grey helmets as well. I think they would look sharp with the all black uni's much like I believe OK st. has done in the past. I'd pony up for sure. Eastern WA has a second helmet, I think it looks great
  10. Not really the case for younger players, but starters I suspect it is. I received a medical my second year, after a first year redshirt. I wouldn't have played anyway that season but it was granted for a separated shoulder and broken hand, both of which I practiced with all year. Only dressed in home games... In Hanson's case there is more scrutiny as he is a starter, traveling with the team making the situation of eligibility clear that he would be capable of being on the field. They wouldn't allow sandbagging for the sake of the program. As far as the 6th season goes, you only have 10 semesters of eligibility. So the 6th year requires a part-time situation in the spring (under 12 credits) while still having passed 24 credits in the prior school year to participate in the 6th fall camp and play.
  11. I could get behind this! Loud train horn at FB games instead of fireworks, We already have it for goals at Hockey games. Plus no change to the fight song etc....
  12. I hope we all continue to give Muss some time to get things squared away. As a former player the glaring problem may not be in the head coach but more in the co-defensive coordinators? Even before the injuries on Sat. there was no many times where we had a dynamic player on defense that could get after the QB. I saw alot of bull rush and no speed off of the edge!! I don't care who you are when a QB can stand flat footed and wait for openings no D-back in country can cover for that long. If we can't create pressure then we are doomed! I only get to watch the games on TV when on Direct TV but that is what I saw this weekend. Maybe those that are around more can chyme in? is this a scheme thing or an athlete thing? If it is a scheme thing than I think it's a fair assesment that the co-coordinator experiment has not worked!!
  13. As for a Nickelback song - could it be their remake of Saturday night's all right for fighting???
  14. As I've said before I've licked flickertails, but if as athletes in the 30's they didn't like it then I can move on to. I would like to see this forum come to a concensus, get someone on the new name comittee, assuming they have one, and get a name put through. Let's be the ones that lead the charge and be responsible for the new name/monicor... IMO, srap Mighty SOO and stick with Fighting SOO. Let all the PC's out there stick that in there pipe. Stripping only the Sioux off of the Ralph would cost less, should be a good compromise. We all get to keep using the same cheers. Nothing changes only the spelling and we lose the logo. It worked for Illinois, why not us. My second choice, Rough Riders. It has state tradition and keeps us away from some random animal that has already been used over and over again, i.e. eagles, cougars, etc.
  15. In all honesty, you are probably right. I will always be a Fighting Sioux, but conceed that unless prayers are answered that is likely not going to represent UND much longer. As an alum I just hope we pick something that means something. I agree with the earlier post, roughriders makes sense, but that's the key it makes sense. Like flickertails or not, it does make sense.
