  1. Saul could redshirt him. When the golden boys are gone, you'll need more players regardless of position. He is mid-major DI player, trust me.
  2. 1) No accountability because his bench can't play. He started the 3 best guards he had (unfortunately) and his bench wasn't good enough to take spots away. I know you all love Bergen but is so limited it is scary. 2) Players play and coaches coach. Buck teaches man to man as well as coach around but if players are more worried about fake tans and how their uniforms fit, whats the point. This team never played hard defensively. Mayville St. had them tied w/8 minutes to go, remember? Truth be told, that night, 2 of the 3 best guards on the floor at anytime were Mayville guards, not ours. Fact is, the NCC wasn't a great league this year and they could coast at times and still win by 20. Other than Langen and Kimbrough, no one else even received hon. mention all conference. That should tell us all something. 3) He'll figure it out. Send em all home. 15 scholarships now in DI.............go get kids who are hungary. This team plays like their full. The Katie Richards, Tiffany Pudenz, Jamie Pudenz of the world would have beat this team by 30, knocked em to the floor, and walked over the top of them. They wanted to kick your ass all night..............This group didn't. Blame the coach who has 3 national titles and has put this school on the map if you want. Bottom line is kids at this age and this level should be self-motivated and ready to play every night. In my opinion, this group wasn't.
  3. As your "golden class" found out this year. Travis can play at SU, no doubt about that. In fact, as weak as your bench was this year, he'd help right away if Saul wanted him to.
  4. Rumor is that NDSU is asking Travis to walk on..............that may change after the strong season Travis had (player of the year in the Mon-Dak) and the fact that you can be sure there were some college coaches at the LRSC vs. Indian Hills game on Tuesday. I don't know how he did Tuesday night but if he was any good at all, he could get more DI looks. If I was SU, I'd be on him hard. They graduate everyone after next season.
  5. Props go to Coach Jones and his staff. This team could have quit but they showed up, played hard and showed great pride in themselves. Great character check. Still not sure they're any good, but I'll take heart like that anytime.
  6. With wheat selling at $20/bushel its no wonder.
  7. As great as the rivalry between the 2 schools was, the rivalry between those 2 coaches was equally as special. I never dreamed she would struggle w/DI move. Always saw her as someone who would thrive at the next level. Maybe we don't understand just how hard the whole move really is. Good luck to her and NDSU; there will be some interesting names that apply for that job.
  8. I believe the water fight happened the year BEFORE Chelios got to Wisconsin.
  9. Wow, a Bison guy who doesn't believe UND can match something previously done SU; don't hear that over here very often of here. You know, there is a serious lack of humility missing at the old AC. We'll just have to try and keep up as best we can with those gol darn guys from the south. Shucks, they've had so much success the last 10 years, well, I don't know how we'll ever get it done.
  10. A.) You know nothing about "hosting" a playoff game so shut your pie hole. B.) You wouldn't congratulate UND if the med school found a cure for AIDS, so shut your pie hole. C.) There is a message board for NDSU people called Bisonville, go there or shut your pie hole.
  11. You were optimistic until the last sentence. Then you became a complete pessimist again! Personally, I don't see anyway this team wins another game. With the hockey team on TV in the afternoon, the good news is that there won't be many people in the gym to witness it.
  12. Sometimes teams who shoot the ball, like USD, do so when they are in alot of motion. The zone may get them to stand around a little and, maybe, not shoot the ball as well. It wouldn't hurt to have something a guy could throw out there for a few possessions and see what happens. We are 0-2 against them so far.
  13. I've been watching the man coach for 20 years and I don't notice any difference; He's nicer now than at anytime I've watched him. He hasn't thrown a jacket in 10 years. The bottom line here is guard play. When his guards make shots, they win. He has big matchup problems with USD, no doubt. They are little and fast. He needs them miss shots and they can't give up layups. Now playing them at home the rest of the way, not sure it will happen.
  14. We could at least split!!
  15. How bad does our deal look when the guy at Northern Colorado thinks his is a better job?
  16. Lets play them home and home next year; we need the wins!!!
  17. He is retiring from coaching all together. Was at Wyoming b/4 coming back to USD and doesn't to go through all the DI stuff at this point in his life/career.
  18. I believe Meland was leaving today for Lincoln. There are about 5-6 of them off to juniors here in the next week. Its been pretty common knowledge around GF for the last month.
  19. I know these boards tend to bring an overreaction from folks and that's why they exist but lets not lose our minds here. This team has lost twice all to the same team. Perhaps no one is to blame and USD is just better than us. Back in the 90's when it was SU, either team could lose twice and beat the other in the tournament. Don't lose your minds here folks. If Buck can figure out a plan to get USD, he'll do it and if we only beat them once, that'll be enough this year.
  20. Can we officially put this season to rest. If we were a horse, they'd shoot us!!!
  21. You should be very proud of the accomplishments of your team. Congrats from all of us here at this board. One thing........................"We'll be back!!!"
  22. I'll go this way, not so much 1 through 5, just my 5 best; Heisler Crouse Kleinsasser J. Pudenz Ashley Langen There have been some great ones!!!
  23. No, I'm one of those parents who played the game in high school and coached the game for almost 20 years, at the high school as well as the college level, and I can tell you that my players were never allowed to treat their opponents in a disrespectful manner w/out serious consequences. The arguement that kids "don't want to be told what to do" is the stupidest thing read on this sight in a long time. Guess what, they're kids and they'll be told what do for many more years. Hell, I'm 40 something and I still get told what to do by my superiors and cohorts on a daily basis. Let me know the role in life that exists where we are never told what to do. I'd like to meet that person.
