  1. If "cheering" for your team involves cursing, or using words like "suck", then no....................they shouldn't be allowed to cheer. Also, if that's why kids don't go to games, please. That is a weak, weak reason!!!
  2. Mostly because kids don't know how to have fun. It is a high school hockey game, not college or bigger. Every kid that puts the uniform on needs to be respected at the high school level by all who are in attendance. There is a set of parents in each community that could use the same lesson.
  3. Saw them both on Monday. Don't see how Gillette can play DI bball. Size isn't there and quickness will be a real issue. Houdek on the other hand, I believe has a chance to be pretty good. She gets the game and is very athletic; runs real well. She also has one more year of high school plus a redshirt year b/4 she'll ever see the floor. 2 years from now, I can see her making a contribution.
  4. Contrived is a poor choice of word. I think what he meant was, don't create another traveling trophy. either bring back the old one (Sitting Bull) or don't have one. We know that all trophies have to be created to start the process. Isn't there a Bison board anywhere for you all?
  5. Agreed!!!!!
  6. Except that her team is winning the league. Thursday's game will go along way to settling this arguement. Personally, I like Kimbrough over Langen but it is more of picking the race horse over the Clydesdale (not meant as a slam, just a different kind of animal). Both are great players and both dominate this league right now. Wish they'd be together for that first DI year. Assuming we get some quality teams on the schedule, I'd like to see those 2 play at that level.
  7. For some reason, this is the kind of sarcasm that I just love. Well done Coyote fan. Good luck to your team on Thursday, it should be a hell of a game!!!
  8. Ladies and Gentleman, the next AD at Denver University, MplsBison. In his interview for the job he showed us the error of our ways in being a DI school. We will now move to DIII in everything and will only scholarship hockey. The rest of our student body that compete athletically for us will have to find their own $27,000 tuition, room and board. I expect to see our enrollment drop by roughly 40% in the next couple years. Thank you for your time!!
  9. I can't believe you asked that question. Everyone just left it alone....................but no................you had to ask it........................I thought you, over anyone, would know better.
  10. The only way caliber of play improves is with new players. This group either doesn't get it or can't get it. And I for one, do NOT want a bunch of transfers from all over the country coming in here and screwing things up any longer!!! Go find 6-8 freshman and teach them the game the way the coaches want the game played. We'll get beat next year but at least we grow an attachment to the team and follow them for 4-5 years.
  11. Sure you will................................sure you will.
  12. 3:00 today at Duluth. The only team in the NCC who is as bad as we are. If we don't win today, will we win again? Prediction time.
  13. If you think this move is a great move when it benefits 6 football players, you've become impossible to talk to. At SU this winter, more kids from the state of Michigan benefitted from scholarship money in football than did kids from North Dakota. I understand it is about winning and being the best you can be, just don't lie to me, and to yourself, when you say this move is a "benefit" to football players from North Dakota. Fewer and fewer football players from the state playing at the state universities. Spin that for me.
  14. Totally agree with everything said here except the sentence in red. UND signed 4 instate kids and SU signed 2. I know there will some walk-ons put lets not pretend that the high school football players of North Dakota will benefit from this move. In state recruiting is a low priority for both universities, in all major sports, and that trend will only continue. In state players are being recruited hard by U of Mary right now and I believe you'll see that trend continue also. Which is OK by me. Bismarck is a great town.
  15. Tell that to the people funding the UP Center in Fargo. If hockey doesn't make money there is going to be some broke #$%^$##%% in about 5 years.
  16. Well, if you think you have it figured out, I'm pretty sure they guy with over 500 wins and 3 rings will figure out what is best for this group; unless you're John Wooden, which would make you qualified to tell Roebuck who should and shouldn't play.
  17. Why not go to a Denver message board and ask them?
  18. Looks like we made a nice little run there to only lose by 28.
  19. This would be a great topic..............at Bisonville. Go away!!!
  20. That's because everyone of these Bison guys who troll here feel that UND isn't smart enough to make the transition like they did. Haven't you heard, we're the school with majors in Ag!!!! The Med school, law school, aerospace studies, etc. will all have to be moved to Fargo where the really smart people live and go to school.
  21. Our schedule is in the same place yours was 5 years ago. To say yours will ALWAYS be better is stupid. You have no idea where our program will be in 5 years. Go away!!!
  22. Look at the rosters, not much has changed. They couldn't play as freshman and sophs. and they can't play now. Plus, there is no guarantee this team will win another game.
  23. Don't forget, we won the DAC in the preseason. The problems with this team are endless. First, the only head coaching experience our head coach has is what he's done right here!! Never been a head coach before so he has to learn as he goes along. Not sure that is good at this level. Second, team can't shoot a lick. Great athletes but no shooters and it is empasized by our opponents. The NCC has always been a team of big "cornfed" posts and shooters. Look back at some of the best teams this league has had and you'll find this out. The good news? As I watched the game on TV the other night, I couldn't find 20 people under the age of 60 at the game. By my estimates, in another 15 years no one will even know this program exists.
  24. Totally agree. Maybe we can get the Bison back on the schedule for both men and women...............we'll go there, won't we!!!!!
  25. NDSU, in their first year of this DI move, went like 25-1. They played no one of any substance and I would imagine UND will have a schedule that is similar to what SU had in their first year. Don't think a guy would need to spend money on season tickets for the next couple years.
