  1. ATT Uverse shows Friday night's game but not Saturday night's game. Anyone else notice? Do they have multiple feeds for Fox College Sports (FSC-C, FCS-A, FCS-P)?

    Who we are!

You completely forgot Saint! (Married to a Patriot)
  3. I think that is somewhat of an outdated summary of UW. Eaves has been attracting better hockey players, players who can actually skate, versus the last few years of thee Sauer era. Their system makes a hockey game almost unbearale to watch (unless it's the sioux), but I don't think it is for lack of talent.
  4. That's interesting. Does that mean that Bina will be a forward?
  5. I'm interested in your interest in the Sioux interest in Gregoire.

    Parise

I disagree with the comments on Schneider. I thought he was outstanding when he needed to be - in the 1st period when the Sioux had some great chances and couldn't get one by (similar to PCM's analysis on Parise re: Hakstol's comments). I don't disagree that he was less than stellar the rest of the game. It should also be noted that his save on Kozek's (I think) diving re-direction of Oshie's centering pass was crucial and could have also been a big turning point (I think Gerbe undressed Smaby shortly thereafter). Parise let in a couple of softies and wasn't helped much on others. It's a team game and they, as a team, lost the game. I'm extremely pleased that this team made it as far as they did; they surpassed my expectations given the youth on D.
  7. Thanks everybody. I'm heading out right now (Madison) to beat the snow. Looks like I'll have to leave a litte early. Go Sioux!
  8. This is probably as good a place as any to post this questions so- Unfortunately, the reason that I'm actually going to be in the cities is to go to an awards banquet for my mom, which happens to be at 6:00 pm on Friday. My guess is the game will be over 5ish, does that leave me enough time to get to the Northland Inn (I-94/169 intersection area), throw on a tie, and get to the dinner by 6?
  9. Oh, I'm not bald, so no worries. I call it "a $20 clippers saves me a lot of money".
  10. In my expereince, the beer has no chance of hitting anyone but him. I watched another friend throw a keg cup of beer across the dance floor at the Down Under - nerry a drop was spilled until it hit him. Most amazing thing I've ever seen (well not really, but for effect). If you get a chance, stop by, I'll be the one with the freshly shorn head.
  11. If he does block your view, just throw a beer at him. It always works for me.
  12. My omission. Is that you Brian?
  13. Section 102 Row 6 seats 3-4? (I think). I'll have a 6'6" guy with me - he's hard to miss. Friday afternoon game only.
  14. Of course not. And we have no clue if the two were related. Given Pauk's past play, what makes you think he wouldn't have pulled that on T.J. had Prpich NOT slashed him? My guess is that Paukovitch didn't like the fact that he got cleanly checked by T.J. Regardless, it was a cheapshot - and not the first by Prpich or most teams' instigators. It recieved so much attention because of Gwoz's hysterics and who it was committed against.
  15. No offense, but it was the perfect time to do what he did, as is evidenced by the fact that he wasn't originally called for it. Only after Pauk went down like he'd been shot and GG acted like someone stole his milk money was anything done. The drop was over and the puck was somewhere else. It's the same reason why guys pull dirty crap behind the play - they usually get away with it. If GG whines at all, a tape of Pauk's hit on Oshie should be shoved down his throat. I personally enjoyed seeing Pauk go down after a hit by Spirko - now that had to be embarassing (no offense to the Lady Byng (sp?) candidate of course).
  16. Madison, WI (6+ years and counting)
  17. Watching on TV, Gilbert got his hands up high and flipped him (probably should have been a penalty). It looked like Genoway came down hard and akward on his upper back/neck (also looked like he might have cracked his head pretty hard on the ice as well).
  18. I also noticed a brekaway attempt that Zajac(?) had where he wnt to the net well and got the intial shot off, but failed to keep driving for a possible rebound (follow your shot isn't just for b-ballers). He slipped off to the side and the puck came straight back out. He wasn't in any sort of a position to make a play on it and Bruckler reached out and covered it.
  19. I noticed at the Badger game this weekend that the student newspaper puts out a series specific issue (both Saturday and Sunday) and puts them on the student section seats pre-game. Is it possible for the Dakota Stupid to do the same thing? It might also be a good way to get some organized cheers going. That and the students could all hold up the papers during visiting teams intro (I've seen this done at basketball games).
  20. I'd echo some of Fedorov's comments... I thought the call on Greene on Saturday was lame. It didn't effect the play and was severley embelished. At least call a diving penalty as well. The Sioux looked sluggish, excpet for certain bursts. A couple times Prpich really stepped up the intensity, but I didn't notice players around him doing the same. Overall, he played well (the pic on the big screen after he got smakced was great, he got up, adjusted his helmet, and was smiling the whole time). Fylling played well all weekend and actually went to the net with the puck. Zajac had flashes and missed a golden opportunity in the Saturday game when he got the puck all alone in the slot. I could't tell if it was a great save from my angle. Smaby needs a night off. He's big, but he has no quickness at all. He got burned a few times. Either hit them or get off the ice. No need to dance with them. Massen - He needs to shoot the puck. He's not a good passer. I want to see him standing in front of the net beating people up and using that big body to block the goalie's view. He would do well to mirror some of Prpich's grittiness. Defense and Forwards - Breaking out of the zone looked horrible. Cycling and forechecking on Saturday was much improved. I thought the team gave good effort on Saturday; they just failed to develop many quality scoring opprotunities. Wisco looked to be the quicker and faster team, which was a little hard to watch. I do think they improved over the Minnesota series however. Lammy - Should be the #1 goalie without a doubt. Badger Fans - Normally great. I like how their student section is organized so well. The racist mascot chants sucked, but I had to laugh at the a$$hole chant. Sieved everything, which got old. "That's debatable" cheer is the worst in the history of bad cheers. The sieve cheer after a goal is great. All in all, not horrible, but not up to expectations. However, there was obviously a reason that Blais defaulted to the Murray - Parise - Bochenski line a fair amount last year, even when they started out separated. That team had a hard time generating offense on occasion, and this team is showing why. The passing isn't clicking yet and we're not winning the battles for loose pucks. I think, and hope, it will come, but it wasn't evident this weekend.
  21. I watched both games on TV. I thought the gophers looked pretty good both nights and the Sioux looked really good in the 3rd on Friday. Saturday: -To echo others, little Potulny is a stud. -In addition to generally listless effort and poor passing, did anyone else think their positioning and spacing was horrible? Please have it figured out by Bucky weekend; especially since it will be the only time I see them in person this year and I really would enjoy giving my friends a tough time (and not have to take it in return)
  22. I agree that McMahon has done a great job in the role he has played. I just think, based upon how many times I've seen him set-up less stellar finishers, that he would be great in the feeding department for a sniper like Bochenski. If Radke pans out offensively, I'd like to see he and Fuher (I love his shot) on the PP.
  23. Personally, I'd like to see a first line of Bochenski and Murray centered by McMahon. I've always been impressed with McMahon's vision and his passing ability, throw in his faceoff skills and I think you could see Bucks and Murray put up some huge numbers. I'd like to see Massen realize his potential this year (and James, throw that big body around a little more - get a little nasty).
  24. I'd have to agree with the sentiment of the majority. This should have been opened up nationaly. That would not mean that Hakstol wouldn't be considered (and possibly even get the job), but why wouldn't you interview interested parties? 1 month of recruting seems to be a pretty weak argument to me and the potential costs of a quick hiring like this seem to outweight the benefits.
