I agree with this philosophy 100%.

I attended those religiously in the '80's...except for the dusk to dawn ones on the 4th...that's when Detroit Lakes was in it's hayday.

We need a basketball conference, and that's what it boils down to as far as I'm concerned. If the Summit comes calling and we need a baseball program to make it happen, keep the program. If the Big Sky changes their mind and invites UND, dump baseball. Whatever portfolio of sports is needed to get into a conference for men's and women's basketball...do what it takes.

It's going to get worse before it gets better, but within ten years basketball will be back on the UND map bigger than ever before.

I voted for 5-on-5 for 10 minutes, two points of someone scores, loser in OT still gets one point. I'm not sure how they'd reconcile overtime losses for tournament selection/Pairwise ranking yet.

Then you might want to stick to traditional media outlets. This isn't what forums like this were founded upon, and quite frankly would make for a very boring discussion board that would attract very few new participants. Phone calls regarding hockey recruits accepting verbal offers from coaches happen behind closed doors, for example. But that's positive so it's okay to discuss it? That's why I come here...to get the inside scoop that isn't available by traditional means. If that means taking the good with the bad, so be it.

Same with UOP, with Dr. Carl Miller leaving the UND athletic director position after nine years to become Pacific's AD, back in 1985 I think it was.

Wow, this is a great hire for Dale. Svoboda was a finalist for the Broyles award just a few years ago. He got thrown under the bus by Dorrell after the '06 season, I think?

It's more of a scheduling alliance than a conference. I really hope Poly is on the 2008 schedule.
