I have to agree, that is not a bad legacy. I see no other choice, although some of the accountability should be laid at Mr. Harmeson's doorstep.

Not surprising in terms of outcome (the announcement of Hakstol's extension was a slap to the face of Buning), but surprising as to timing. Figured he would finish out the academic year, but the powers that be have decided it's best to pull the pin now.

Why don't they just let you guys camp out for them, like that one year?

Fox has a major stake in both BTN and DirecTV, so it's really not DirecTV that cares...it's their owners.

With the Big Ten Network debacle, I wouldn't expect DirecTV to play nice in the sandbox regarding NHL Network, since Comcast is part of the joint venture.

I'd rather see some expansion and/or consolidation of some of the conferences, allowing for divisional play and conference championship games with an autobid on the line. Leave it at 16, IMHO.

About five hours south of the wine country. Hmm...the wife's always wanted to see the wine country. I'm sensing a fall trip to California in the next year or two!

I was on the way to my client at the time, heard the news break over a local morning radio show. Confusion as to the first plane into the tower (accident?), and utter horror at the second collision. I was fortunate enough to be working in town. The director at our firm that I worked with quite frequently was in the towers that morning, however. His tower was the first to get hit...his meeting was moved that morning...from a floor in the 90's, to a floor in the 60's. He made it out okay, but you can imagine the impact that had on his priorities (I think I'll call him today). As for our project team, we then heard about the Pentagon being hit. All the news websites were overloaded, so we wheeled in a TV and saw the two towers fall. We all packed up our computers and headed home to our families for the day at that point.

The NCC games start on Saturday. UND is 2-0 non-conference. Next.

It's a football-hockey double dip that day, so I think the Alerus will be jam packed, with things being inhospitable for the Mavericks. Should be a great ballgame, but plenty of work to be done before that.
