I'm sure DaveK is fine with it. He apologized and said he didn't do it on purpose. I don't think he meant to do any of the outrageous things he's done in the past such as cross check a teammate in the mouth for no particular reason. (As posted on Goons blog).

If history is to be a guide the NHL will give him a slap on the wrist and then be shocked shocked when someone puts the jerk in his place . I hope they don't do that and give the guy a somewhat long unpaid vacation from hockey.

You would assume that given hatred you'd have big brawls between the fans of opposing teams. The only altercation between fans of North Dakota teams I've heard about lately involved some MayPort fans and a hothead from Fargo who thinks everyone else is bad.

Well you may be right, but my other problem is I rarely get to watch anything on the "main" tv. So my wife would probably be watching Dr. Philbert while I'm cowering in the basement watching on the old TV anyhoo. I do watch a lot of the Discovery Channel stuff so maybe it's not that far away for me.

Joe Finley umpired a baseball game once. They never finished the first half of the first inning. Everyone's safe with Finley watching.

I for one think that they should get someone with North Dakota ties to fill the top jobs. After all the AD's (let alone the President's) job is as much political as anything else. Starting by knowing the landscape has to be a good thing. Of course you don't hire someone that can't do the job. But if you have someone in house that can do the job give it to him. Better the one you know than the one you don't. I didn't think Buning was a bad choice and I have no idea of why it didn't work out. (If that is the reason why there's a leave of absence.) I never talked to the guy one on one but I heard him speak a number of times and I was frankly impressed. I would imagine he'd come off well in a job interview situation. I don't know much about his competition on whether he was the best. I think the AD job hasn't been filled with an ideal candidate for a long time. I don't think Thomas or Gino were good administrators. (But they were good coaches.) Wanless was a good administrator but a lousy people guy. Carl Miller was slightly before my time and I don't know of who was before him. So best of luck to everyone.

Well I've heard from sources on the inside that there were problems. So I'll assume it's for the best but Buning never seemed like a bad sort so I wish him and his family the best.

That's why I haven't made the switch yet. I haven't felt that the programming was there yet to justify the extra expense. When it is then it's likely the price will be more affordable. Late adopters make out like bandits.
