  1. I don't agree with it, or understand it, but I expect that you're right. No matter how good they are they won't be good enough. Actually I expect Blood and Fienhage will have an easier time making hits because they won't be as much taller than the other players as Finley is.
  2. I thought he really looked like he fit in. Last year he was the raw freshman. I hope he's ready to get a regular spot.
  3. My two cents: Goaltending is an "I don't know." Of course most of the time with JPL you didn't know until the last season. I think top to bottom we're going to be a stronger team than last year. The only exception to that is that nobody (and I mean nobody) can replace a TJ Oshie. My prediction is that if the goaltending holds we'll be back in the Frozen Four. (Of course I could be wrong.)
  4. Those are great guys, but I would have liked to seen Vandevelde get some recognition as well. You can't name everyone.....
  5. Actually they skated around Chay Gennoway and Finley wasn't able to turn around and cut the player off on the other side of the ice, almost but not quite. No Joe's not quick but blame him for his own mistakes. (PS Gennoway's time off of the ice due to his injury resulted in him being not ready. I don't hold it against him.)
  6. Having a babysitter doesn't save all that much money. But really is the price premium of $15 really that bad considering the experience. If anything the $25 to see Anchorage is more of a gouge, at least if the market is to judge. And a lot of Gofer phans buy the expensive tickets which doesn't make me feel bad at all.
  7. Meisterbrau: It ain't over.
  8. One would imagine that Mr. Paukovitch will get another lesson in the art of hockey fights. Someone's going to have to beat some respect for other players into his head.
  9. I was tuning in the Twins game a bit early and saw FLW Outdoors was fishing Cass Lake. Then I saw that one of the leaders was a Toby Kvalavog (spelling?) who's teaching somewhere in Minnesota for his full time job. Is that our Toby, the goalie? Update: They did a short story on him, and it is our Toby. The Sioux got a few highlights in along with him mentioning he was on the 1997 championship team. (Unfortunately he got the number of championships wrong, I think he said it was the 5th in 1997.)
  10. I'm really not sure as I've only seen the first movie but I'll take your word for it.
  11. I'm sure they were trying to be realistic. If you opened it up you'd get all kinds of crazy suggestions, like the Russian National Team, The Hamilton Mustangs, and Emilio Estevez's Mighty Ducks.
  12. That part of the schedule looks great. Going to games 3 out of 4 weekends gets to be too much, especially when you pay for it by having a month where you hardly see the team.
  13. Rumor has it that UND85 was a friend with answer #13.
  14. Jason Blake?
  15. How does Finley's partner falling down and coughing up the puck to one of the fastest players in the country reflect poorly on his play. At least in the first instance he did a terrific job of turning around (unlike the BC player who was ready to go) and almost caught up to him on the other side of the ice. In my world that was almost a great play by Joe.
  16. Stu Bickel just crapped his pants. I wonder if he can stand behind Lucia for an entire series.
  17. Now you did it!
  18. So I can't bring my kids anymore? OH well, more beer for me.
  19. I think the last time the National Anthem was sung by the fans was back in the old Englestad Arena. The microphone didn't work and the crowd spontaneously joined in. Anyone remember that?
  20. I'm over 30 and I think it's funny. Course I was raised on Hogans Heroes. It's all Lucy's fault I tell you.
  21. Absolutely. It also irritates me when the crowds starting to get wound up and they play a song with their 150,000 watts.
  22. There is some alure in being the head guy. And with the U on a bit of a lull (I'm sure temporarily) he probably wasn't going to be offered a D-1 Head Coaching job anytime soon. As for me he always rubbed me the wrong way in his interviews during the period break. I'm sure that's just me.
  23. As if the AHA would take a third rate program like that.....
  24. I hope we get in the EZAC. That should bump our winning percentage up a fair bit.
  25. must be official then.
