Speaking of those early 80's games, remember how the UND channel broadcasted all the games after you got home. This isn't anything that big in this day and age, but back around then VCR's cost about a $1000 so there weren't many of them out there. Nothing better than winning twice in one night.

I don't see Marto playing the tough guy but that's ok, you need a a couple (Genoway) real athletic guys out there making plays. I really don't have doubts about Blood being a great one and Fienhage will probably be fine as well. LaPoint....Is he going to be a skill guy or mix in some hitting? As it's been said, stiffen up the defense with Finley and we'll be a lot better off.

That reminds me of what Buddy Ryan said about Cris Carter....

I believe that was early in 1982 when the BADgers came here. That was an exciting weekend, we were #1 and #2 in the country. If I recall correctly Phil Sykes had a terriffical weekend and we swept them convincingly.

I don't think the linesman had called it, however play should have continued until the Sioux controlled the puck. My impression is that the Badgers might have been gypped out of a 2 second power play, 6-4. Hey I'd love to compliment the team leadership of that team. One goal down and under four minutes your captain takes a stupid slashing penalty. A fine example of a scholar-athlete.

Let's be glad that Ralph did what he did so we don't face the money pressures.
