You need to spend more time around other pro teams fans, Minnesota fans are middle of the road as far as annoying, it might be proximity.

Sometimes you know kids on different teams. I always will be a UND fan but will temporarily cheer for other teams when not playing UND when I have a personal connection to kids on them. I know many kids who have played for competitors. Seems completely natural to me

I’ve been watching UND hockey since thru chicken wire, also Billet junior players off and on thru the years. One year we attended a game while one of our billet kids played against UND. My then 8 year old daughter was cheering for her half brother as she called him and was told to shut up swore at and told we need to sit somewhere else. It was a group effort of the people behind us. I was host couple for an old WCHA hockey player. There were 3 different WCHA colleges represented in bridal party. This bizarre animosity for kids who pick another school to play for has always felt so immature. Other schools usually have similar percentages of great kids as your team.
