  1. I wonder if the WAC will also add UT Pan American and Houston Baptist soon?
  2. I had forgotten this until today, but guess who was coaching against UND when Chappell had his 300-plus yard, school record rushing game back in 2007? Current EWU head coach Beau Baldwin, who coached Central Washington that year.
  3. From the Forum article: http://www.inforum.com/event/article/id/376144/
  4. I think power rushing and defense suit Lennon fine. The question I've always had is whether it may be problematic from a recruiting standpoint to take a bunch of coaches from the Dakota's, and have them recruiting well outside of their traditional areas. Some can adapt quickly to a new area, such as Luke Schleusner knocking it out of the park in Illinois last year, but maybe for others it's a bigger challenge? I just can't believe it's an X's and O's problem for Lennon, Bubba, DeBoer, etc.
  5. Personally, I think Kill may be a bit overrated. For one, he didn't do anything great as a dII coach. Secondly, I believe much of the talent at SIU when he was there had been recruited by his predecessor. Ditto at NIU. I don't pretend to know why things haven't gone well for Lennon the past few years, but he didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach. Maybe it just isn't the right fit. It happens to very good coaches at all levels of football.
  6. There were a number of de-commits that season, but they mostly didn't follow Lennon as far as I can recall. IMO, besides Lennon himself, the biggest loss was assistant coach Eric Schmidt.
  7. Kyle Cavil is the only one I can recall. He had committed to UND prior to Lennon's departure, then de-committed and signed with SIU.
  8. Against the four division I opponents played so far this year, UND is giving up 270 yards per game rushing.
  9. 24 ISU 10 USD halftime USD has some glaring weaknesses this year.

  11. Here's the new coaches' poll: http://www.wlfi.com/...s-Poll_79274419 Seems pretty hard to justify Montana over Northern Arizona.
  12. Sagarin has UND at 18 among FCS teams (120 overall) this week: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt12.htm
  13. Hard to believe, but Kolpack actually did pick UND this week: http://bisonmedia.areavoices.com/2012/09/21/fcs-pick-em-week-4/
  14. 54 posts in this thread, and not a single mention of a certain ex-UND a.d.? I figured somebody would have dubbed this game the "Wanless Bowl" by now.
  15. It's interesting how many are picking UND to win by two scores (or more). UND's last road win by two or more scores? At Duluth in 2007. It's been awhile. Oh, and this just in--Dom Izzo has picked Sac. St. What a shocker.
  16. All probably true. Of course, having little chance to play is better than having no chance to play at all. Quitting at UND probably effectively ended his football career. It's a good thing Goska and Hendrickson didn't quit at the first sign of adversity.
  17. Just saw on twitter that he has committed to Davidson.
  18. According to these Big Sky football notes: http://www.bigskycon...0917120919.aspx, UND's 41 points vs. SDSU were the most points scored by an FCS team against an FBS opponent so far this year.

  20. I didn't have a chance to listen to the game against SDSU, but the boxscore indicated Kennedy started. Is this accurate?

    week 4 polls

Sagarin has UND at number 132 (23rd among FCS teams): http://www.usatoday....garin/fbt12.htm
  22. Anybody know whether Daryl Brown is expected back this week?
  23. With so few difference-makers on offense, and a pretty erratic defense during the transition, the fact that UND has been in a position to win a couple of games in the fourth quarter against FBS teams is quite an accomplishment IMO, particularly against Northern Illinois. Now, the offense appears to be legitimately explosive for the first time since 2007. If the special teams are strong as usual, and the defense can just play respectably, who knows what might happen?

  25. Fired two games into the season? I guess Brett Bielema doesn't have the market cornered in the overreaction department (fired his o-line coach earlier this week).
