  1. Per SFI, Colton Boas has committed to UND.
  2. What a difference a year makes in the Big Sky. Last year, Montana and Weber St. combined to go 37-3 in the conference, and won 25 and 30 games, respectively. This year, 14-6 won the league, and 12-8 was good enough for a tie for second. It's possible no Big Sky team will even make it to 20 wins on the season.
  3. EGF scores again, now 4-1 late second period.
  4. No, but he is a UND grad. He succeeded Tim Miles at Mayville, and had a lot of success for a couple of years there (including a win over UND) before moving on to become a Miles assistant at Colorado St. and now at Nebraska. He was considered a candidate for the UND job the last time, but did not meet the minimum requirements as set by Buning and Ralston, due to his experience being mostly at the NAIA level at the time.
  5. I'm still holding out hope that after next season, this guy will be UND's coach: http://www.huskers.c...TCLID=205435851
  6. I had to leave after the third quarter, and was shocked to hear that Linton had won. I thought that in terms of athleticism and strength, Cavalier looked vastly superior (Linton players looked really scrawny and they struggled on the boards), but in the first half Linton's hot shooting kept them pretty much even. I expected Cavalier would win going away after they seemed to take control in the third quarter.
  7. That question crossed my mind, also. I also thought he might be a candidate for a job on Kotelnicki's staff.
  8. From Vandrovec's blog this morning: http://terryvandrove...tuesday-tidbits I can't help but wonder whether Bubba simply didn't offer Schleusner a job as a position coach, or whether Schleusner was too proud to take a demotion at UND, even though he probably knew full well he wasn't going to get another OC job at this juncture of his career.
  9. Schleusner has been hired as TE coach at SDSU: http://www.gojacks.c...TCLID=209416336
  10. Ohio St. finished the sweep today, 3-1.
  11. Possibly, but at 153 pounds it would be difficult to imagine he'd hold up very long.
  12. I was really hoping that a couple of juco transfers could be signed in time to enroll for the second semester. Spring ball will be difficult with potentially only one true corner. I would not be surprised if both 2014 starting corners aren't even on the team yet.
  13. A few possibilities would be Coyle (good athlete) and even McGill (was considered a good corner prospect coming out of high school). Other than that, I don't really know.
  14. I think the chances are better of finding somebody who can actually contribute at corner by switching positions rather than new walk ons, but I guess we'll see. I don't necessarily think the previous regime had everybody playing the correct positions anyway.
  15. Who do you see making the switch? At least two will have to in order to even have scrimmages.
  16. Any chance Butler gets a look at corner this spring? He's got the speed, and having a physical 6'2" corner would be nice. I have to assume there will be at least a couple of players who have to switch to corner this spring out of necessity. Butler may be as good of a candidate as any.
  17. I've wondered the same thing. Dorn has to be pushing retirement age (she graduated from college in 1972), and my guess is that when she retires they may change the job description to a SWA.
  18. UND lost 52-49 today at Montana.
  19. I agree. With last year's extension of Jones' contract through 2016-17, it virtually guaranteed that he is at UND through 2014-15 at the absolute minimum. And it would probably take a disaster of 2013 UND football proportions for anything to happen after next season, either.
  20. SFI is now saying they may have had bad info regarding Benyard, and no longer think he's signing. He may have never committed in the first place.
  21. Cedric Simmons has committed to UND, per SFI.
  22. New Herald article: http://www.grandfork...s-sees-big-bump Beck and Coyne are previously unreported commitments, correct? Per SFI, Coyne is a PWO. Not sure about Beck.
  23. According to this article: http://collegebasket...asketball-coach, Jones is under contract for three more seasons after this year. Given the recent contract extension, I don't think Faison is going to be in any hurry to make a change.
