  1. For the first time, I actually saw how the offense was apparently supposed to be run, as there were a number of backdoor cuts that led to easy opportunities. In addition to the usual good games by Youmans and Little, Koenig and Harrison had very good performances today.
  2. I was told the Wisthoff kid is visiting UND this weekend.
  3. One of the worst performances I've seen in 20 years of watching UND women's basketball. I would guess Roebuck agrees. A number of players really had a poor weekend.
  4. I know there have been high school tournaments there around the holidays in the past, so that would be my guess. EDIT: Actually, there's nothing listed on the calendar on their web site, so I don't know why it would be set up for basketball right now. It is a pretty good set up for hoops when the portable bleachers are on both ends, IMO.

  6. Anybody else remember the last time UND hosted them (back when they were known as Texas A & I)? I believe it was 1986--Roger Thomas's first year as head coach, and there was a ton of offense in that game. The Sioux weren't very good back then, but I remember how good of a running back Johnny Bailey was for A & I.
  7. Of the Wisconsin players previously mentioned in this thread, Campbell appears to be a real blue-chipper, as Marlin Lee from www.wissports.net has him as the sixth-ranked senior prospect in the state. Also, Heimler and Rosemeyer are ranked in the top 40 in the state.
  8. Has anybody seen Steve Brekke's son play? He's 6'6", and averaged 10 points and 9 boards as a sophomore last year. If he becomes anything close to the player his dad was, he would be worth a serious look by UND.
  9. Per a couple of posts on the minnesota preps board, UND is apparently recruiting linebackers Rashad Gayden from Robbinsdale Cooper, and Willy Baregi from Holy Angels.
  10. UND defeated Mary tonight in Bismarck 74-55.
  11. Actually, there appears to be a lot of similarities between the 2007 Vikes and the 2006 Pack. As I'm sure you recall, Green Bay was sitting at 4-8 this time last year, and went on to win their final four games. They've gone on to have a (so far) great 2007 season. If the Vikes can finish this season at 9-7 or even 10-6 after a 2-5 start, regardless of what happens in the playoffs they could be poised for big things next year. Much depends on the continued development of Jackson into a competent, manage-the-game quarterback. The Vikes are already the best rushing team in the NFL, and are top-10 in scoring defense. If they can have another draft similar to the past two years, they could be very dangerous next year.
  12. Weston did not make the final three for the Harlon Hill.
  13. Per www.wissports.net, here are some more Wisconsin players UND is showing at least some interest in: Tyrell Rosemeyer (Fennimore), 6'0", 222 FB/LB (UND has reportedly offered) Tony Lyght (Fennimore), 6'5", 290 OL/DL Jake Wiederholt (Fennimore), 6'5", 220 QB/LB Troy Rolli (Madison East), OL Logan Allemand (Kenosha Tremper), OL Lenier Johnson (Mil. Bay View), 5'9", 175 RB
  14. 1-1 vs. UNO trumps 0-1 vs. UND, and one more overall loss? Also, I thought margin of wins/losses played a role in computer rankings? Two of CWU's losses were pretty lop-sided.
  15. I have a hard time taking these rankings too seriously. Grand Valley the 26th-best college football team in the country? Central Washington ahead of UND? etc., etc.
  16. Fair enough. UND fans know all too well how injuries to key players can throw a wrench into things.
  17. Do you think Central Michigan just had a really bad day against NDSU, or was the MAC just that bad this year? It seems hard to believe that SDSU and Cal Poly may have been better than anyone in the MAC.
  18. UND wins a surprisingly close game today, 73-67. It's a little surprising that Roebuck would have agreed to play an afternoon game after a late night game the evening before. Other than in the consolation bracket in a high school state tournament, you don't see that very often.
  19. I know, it was only Detroit, but the Vikes certainly looked good again today.
  20. UND appears to be in the running for linebacker Damon Campbell and defensive back Sean Kennedy from Wisconsin Lutheran High School. link
  21. According to today's Herald (print edition only), the following red-shirts are listed as "newcomers to watch" for next season: Brent Goska, qb Catlin Solum, rb Chris Anderson, wr Broc Bellmore, dl Chris Schaan, dl Tru Nguyen, lb Dan Hendrickson, lb
