Agreed. In my opinion, NDSU Basketball, in fact, has struggled for exactly those reasons. That has been moderated somewhat due to the program's recent success in the NCAA tournament. Nevertheless, it remains a second-class sport at NDSU, which is a shame.

You'd still be wrong if you had said the last fifty times (that would be 25-25 - even). In any case, I was just correcting your "fact" with no editorial comment.

Just to correct the record, UND does not have a better head-to-head football record against NDSU over the last 50 years. The record since 0ct 22, 1966 stands at 25-16 in favor of NDSU.

They're weasel words because, IMO, he's using them to give the appearance of an argument without actually presenting any direct evidence that what he's saying is true. As I said before, of course, what he said could be true, but absent some evidence -- and he provides none -- there's no reason to think that they are true.

Again, show me some actual planning on the part of either the Big Sky, or its member schools. Until you do this is no more than wishful thinking, or perhaps apophenia.

OK, but where's the evidence of any planning and due diligence going on at the Big Sky and MVFC schools you are suggesting will soon be moving? Even if Big Sky officials wanted to move up, they could not do so without approval from the schools involve. That approval would require a great deal of work on the part of each of those schools. Until you produce some evidence of that work happening, you're just making stuff up.

Why wouldn't I care? I'm interested in FCS (and FBS) football. Of course, I care.

According to Sioux Valley, there are 11 public schools that surely must already know that they will be moving to FBS in the near future. Yet there is no evidence that any of those schools are actually preparing for that move. No feasibility studies, no fund-rasing drives, no obviously much larger new facilities on the horizon... What gives? You'd think someone would have let the cat out of the bag by now.

Absolutely right. UND fans have been forecasting NDSU's fall (and UND's rise) for years now. They're no more likely to be right now than they were in January 2012 when NDSU's current run started. Things have changed since 2003. The question is: has UND changed enough to keep up? The answer is unclear.

Sure, matchups and home field advantage can make a difference. So what? Those things aren't controllable.

I am not confused about regionalization. What he said is probably correct, but who cares? The playoffs are about advancing and winning championships. It makes no difference who you play. The goal is to be the best ... you do that by beating whomever the NCAA puts in your way.

You should first be focused on making the playoffs, and then on winning games in the playoffs. What team the NCAA decides you should play in the playoffs is irrelevant.
