  1. Me too! I can't afford to be buying new jerseys every year! Heck, I don't even buy the fancy Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I go for the cheap 30 cent box of Flavorite brand.
  2. So are the jerseys going to still look the same, or is the design changing too?
  3. Already? Sheesh, they're worse than women! Get an new piece of clothing and throw it out after a year. Any idea what they look like? Maybe that's why I've seen so many jerseys on sale lately.
  4. I agree with the rest. It's refreshing to hear some inside information instead of speculating and discussing rumors constantly. I think it's obvious that the fans are very proud of the team and recognize the hard work they put into hockey. It's good to hear that the team isn't satisfied with last season. It was kind of a hit below the belt for the guys who are used to winning. Let's hope their hard work and dedication pays off for this year's seniors! GO SIOUX!!
  5. When I tried to go to a practice last year after they moved into the new arena, they wouldn't let anyone in. It's a closed practice. I don't know if that's the same for pre-season or not. I'm assuming it's a security thing with the new arena. Either way it sucks. Then again, maybe PCM has some pull.
  6. I don't know where the hell our offensive line was, but Kelby was under constant pressure and Jim Miller couldn't find any holes to run the ball for the life of him! Maybe it has something to do with graduating 3 senior offensive linesman starters. I thought that was the weakest link. And Riza had a terrible game after an outstanding debout last week. He's way too small to run the ball unless he has a clear path through the field. I almost cried when I watched him try to avoid a tackle, and in the process, lose about 10 yards.
  7. That was a great fight! The ice looked like a yard sale by the time everyone had dropped the sticks and gloves. Mazurak and O'Leary both left that game, if I recall right. Winning just made it all the sweeter. The last time I saw O'Leary was when he was working at Scheels. He was in my Sociology class last year, so he didn't leave school after he was cut. My guess is that he is finishing school, and if Blais gives him a chance, he'll rejoin the team. He still looked to be in good shape last year. I would definitely like to see him back on the team. Nothing wrong with having a line that can shut down top lines in the league.
  8. I was thinking the same think Sicatoka. We seem to have quite a few talented centers. Add Lundbohm, Fylling, and possibly Spiewak to your list, and that's quite the competition. If he realized how hard the other centers were working this summer and became concerned about his playing time, yay for the fans! Does anyone know if Parise came up to Grand Forks this summer to work out with his teammates?
  9. Bochenski also does well getting the garbage goals by setting up camp right in front of the net, and the team seems to play it's best 5 on 5. What we really need is to step up the power play, IMO. That area was lacking last year.
  10. Why doesn't that surprise me?
  11. I don't know if I would put Canady in the same speed column as Notermann, Spiewak, or Connelly, although he does work hard. I don't see the team slowing down considerably by gaining some more muscle, especially when it seems like it's mostly the big guys just getting bigger. (Hales, Jones, Schneider) I would bet half of Spiewak's weight is in his legs anyway, the way that kid can fly. I think the people I'm happiest about putting on a few pounds, assuming they are accurate of course, are Fournier (177), Fylling (188), Fuher (196), and Lundbohm (194). I just can't believe we have to wait until October 22 for the first home game! Last year the first home game was in September.
  12. No kidding...Spiewak is up to 200 pounds?! Not to mention the Hale brothers packing on 10-20 lbs more than they were listed the last couple years. I can't wait for the season to start!
  13. So who wants to tell the story of why Al Pearson was being escorted out of the arena? Inquiring minds want to know.

  15. The bus trips are one hell of a trip! I decided to go to Duluth with them as a last minute decision this last season, with the help of YaneA . I just needed to see some hockey. As the youngest person on the bus by a little over 70 years, I, as the "Rookie", was told that I had to refill my glass everytime the pitcher of keg beer came around. Then came the mudslides. Oh, did I mention the gambling for quarters? I was smashed by the time we stopped for lunch. Fun, fun, fun people who love Sioux sports, and I was "adopted" by a couple of them. I definitely plan on going again some time and taking some friends with.
  16. I've been way too busy this summer to think about hockey much but I'll give it a shot. Like dagies, I'm going to wuss out and put these lines in no particular order.
  17. And there's probably a reason that Blais is going after bigger defensemen "a la Commodore" to provide a presence and protect the zone, rather than the rare, talented offensive defensemen.
  18. Didn't Schmidt ref the UND/BC game last year? I don't recall there being any problems with the officiating.

    Title Game

I didn't any have problems when I wore my Sioux jersey on Thursday. I got a couple "Where are the Sioux this year?" though. Some fan even told me he had been looking forward to seeing us play at the FF again. Plus I received a bunch of "Go Sioux!" from Sioux fans. I must have been lucky. I'm with diggerdan, though. I did not do the rouser. I heard it enough last weekend to make me puke.

    Title Game

All this age talk. I'm pretty sure I'm the youngest one on this board. I'll be 20 in a month.
  21. I was disappointed we never made it over to Alary's between games. I wanted to meet some of you guys. Maybe I'll run into you at the Saturday night game.
  22. I'll be there in my new black jersey with the new logo.
