Sicatoka, I'm pretty sure the 5 on 3 clock issue was when St. Cloud had the the power play, not Michigan.

LOL. "This is a young man in need of a hug."

Yes!! I get to check out some hot chicks at a bar! That's ok, I can deal with it. I'm there as long as they don't check my id. Unless someone wants to steal their wife's id for the weekend and let me borrow it....

Justin Johnson, MN, freshman Wasn't Johnson also the name of the freshman who was in net for Mankato when they spanked the Sioux at home? Jake Moreland, SCSU, junior Kurt Johnson, UAA, junior Kevin Reiter, UAA, sophomore Adam Berkhoel, DU, sophomore Just a few. There seems to be an abundance of goaltenders named Johnson in the league.

I'm leaving Grand Forks Wednesday afternoon, and leaving on Sunday afternoon. I'll be there!

If the tourney changes to a 16-team format, does that eliminate 1st round byes?
-
That kind of makes sense to me. Lucia must spend half of his day in the studio, seeing as how he does the Gopher Ticket, interviews, and commercials. It just seems like too much, and they're over-commercializing the MN program. It's about winning, not smiling pretty for the camera, Don.

Like what, 100 ft. goals? Nice move by Andy. Hale must have really felt bad when he made a 2nd pass directly to Taffe, only Kollar stopped that one.
-
I only saw them play once, but I think Porter had one of the 6 goals. I remember thinking he was a pretty good player, and was hoping that Hakstol and Berry were going to recruit him since I saw them there that day.

I checked the Fighting Sioux webpage to see if I could find how many minutes each player logged. They have about every stat you could think of except the number of minutes played. I guess you could go by shots on goal, but they would also vary depending who the player is on a line with. I agree, next year is going to be fun to see how much these players improved over the summer compared to this season. Now the hard part is waiting!

I really like Bochenski and Fornier on a line together, too. Bochenski has random success on the top line, but good things always seem to happen the few times that he and Fornier have been on a line together. They are already in tune with each other's playing styles. I liked Spiewak on the first line as well, but I also don't like splitting him and Notermann up. Keep them together on the 2nd line, perhaps with Lundbohm or Ryan Hale. I would assume that Blais is already planning on putting Parise on a line with Bayda, also assuming that he adjusts well to the college level.

I think I remember hearing that the Boston College games were going to be a four year deal, and they would trade off between Boston and GF. Goon is right, they would start in the 2003 season.

Andy Kollar definitely showed that he is a goalie who can play when it counts. Absolutely great way to end his college career! It was also very nice to see the D and backchecking forwards in there clearing out the rebounds. That's a big aspect we were missing pretty much all season long. I'm very proud of the way these guys pulled it together after the manhandling last night. It was a very positive note to end the season on. Now only 7 months until the next season starts!

It's not only the numbers that Skarperud put up, but also the fact that all of the coaches say that he has taken on a leadership role in the locker room as well, becoming more vocal. Bayda always works hard, and I would be disappointed to see anyone but him get the C next year.

Ok, thanks! I can make my mother happy then and go home Friday instead of waiting until Saturday.

Thanks Sicatoka! And yes, I can get KFYR at home. Is there a chance that the state basketball tournament will boot hockey off KFYR though?
-
Hey Sicatoka, do the Fargo and Bismarck stations broadcast the Tim's hockey coverage from Grand Forks?
-
I hope Canady and Bochenski can keep it to a minimum. Just be the instigators, then walk away and let the other guy get the penalty! You know this series has the potential to be very physical, so as long as they can keep their tempers in check, hopefully they can get the Gopher penalty killers tired right away.

I was wondering about Brandt too. I didn't think he played all that bad in the Sat. night game against Michigan Tech when he got pulled during the 2nd intermission. I know Blais said it was a wake up call for the rest of the team, but I still thought it seemed strange. He does seem to be in the doghouse a lot.
-
This has nothing to do with anything, but I ran across this on an old message board where Sioux and Gopher fans were going at it.

Speaking of Leinweber, has anyone heard anything about his condition? After he went out during the Tech series, I haven't seen or heard anything about him. I'm assuming he had a concussion.
