It's hard to come up with numbers when everything is so secretive. If you don't see the correlation there and how foolish that statement is then it's not worth arguing about.

That goes both ways so don't be so quick to try to take the high road there is enough dirt flung both ways by both sides that for one to try to take that moral ground is ridiculous.

Can't help but point out the hypocrisy here on the part of some posters. Some time ago NDSU's president via private donations had work done on the Presidents home. People on here were up in arms that state money was being used and were chastising President Chapman and NDSU about where all the money was coming from. I find this pretty funny and yet extremely hypocritical. This money was also much less then what UND and the lawsuit is apparently costing but taxpayers I guess have no right in your eyes to know what the cost is as long as someone says its not costing the taxpayers anything. This coming from a public university is pretty interesting. Oh and someone else points out that is ok because in the end it will eventually come out. After all the bills have been paid whatever the amount and by whoever as we are not being told it's ok. Why if the nickname is ok ( and I don't care what you call yourselves personally) and your paying to support the cause wouldn't you let it be know, what's to hide? Then people wonder why UND has reputation or public trust issues. Funny stuff.

You obviously have not checked out http://www.bisonsports.net I would say that is about as tolerant as your going to get. The other board has different rules for different posters which is nothing more then censorship.

I'm not going to attempt to speak for him but you can go over and read the forums if you want. Several UND posters have been there to post and he's engaged them in civil discussions. You don't have to agree with him and obviously you don't but it does allow you and other UND faithful the opportunity to discuss any number of topic's and do so without being shut down. Isn't that part of what message boards are for? If your only looking for posts by like minded people who always agree with you doesn't that get kind of boring? JBB's been very open to UND posters in the short time the board's been up and running.

Nope, the reasons for the new message board are plain and simple. Its the start to a much newer looking board, the style that is up right now is only temporary. It is also a place to have open discussions without heavy handed moderation. Most message boards and I would include this one in that group allow for discussions to happen without moderators stepping in all the time. Please don't misunderstand we are not setting up shop for a forum of just smack or garbage talk but opinions are welcomed whether we agree or not and if people want to beat to death a subject about NDSU and the gateway or NDSU and the MID-Con or NDSU and UND they are welcome to do it at length without moderators locking threads. Who really cares as long as the conversations don't get personal about athletes/coaches/or posters. If people want to use it they are welcome, if they don't want to then they don't have to. Boards are supposed to be about open discussion, the other board does not allow for that. That's ok those who put the boards together can run them as they see fit, I think as do the others at www.bisonsports.net these boards are for fun and sharing of information plus some good hearted smack. I don't see this as a rivalry with the other board, I just see it as a difference of opinions in how boards whould be moderated. We have not talked trash about the other board and encourage people who want to use it or like it to continue. I think they will see a difference in how the two boards are run. Stop by and poke around and watch for changes in the board over the coming months. I think you will agree that it will be a fun place to stop by and check out. What more of an open invitation can you ask for? Heck we can even talk about UND Hockey

JBB or any of the mod's over there welcome your comments (seriously) we may not agree but it will be another opportunity to talk Bison or Sioux sports without heavy moderation. He's even had his distemper and rabies shots so you guys should be safe

I'll let that out eventually, just want to keep a little mystery going here so people can guess (like they care or don't have anything better to do) but the invite is genuine with no hidden agenda, look forward to all users no matter what school they are with coming over and posting.

I was reading through this thread and had to post on this comment. I almost feel sorry for you up there but then I remember all the past and that goes away. But this comment is just way to out there not to point out the obvious. You can't draw flies for a playoff game (using that term playoff losely here) and you have someone posting your ultimate goal is to go IA with a 30,000 seat outdoor facitlity? That's hilarious and ridiculous at the same time. One of your own points out what many in Fargo have said for years and now you come down on him. If this was someone from Fargo that said this you'd be all over that tenfold. Your other comment about leading, Please lets not go there, you are following and you know it. Well this pretty much looks like it will seal the deal to send the two XDSU's to the Gateway and kill any possiblity of the Mid-Con/GWFC proposal that Douple was hoping to broker. Looks now like if nothing is able to be worked for the BSC you maybe looking at Indy status for a while.

It would appear to me that you don't have to worry about NDSU fans bashing UND. They seem to do it on their own out there. Pretty smart people I guess.

There is 2 reasons UNC got into the BSC. 1. Location (in the already established footprint of the BSC or footprint as they see it anyway). 2. To appease the west coast schools. The West Coast schools threatened to leave had NDSU and SDSU gotten in. This would have jeopardized the autobid for the conference which is why or at least a big part of why they didn't choose NDSU and SDSU. If it were up to the Montana schools and thier fans we would have been in. Nothing to do with any concocted FSSN network garbage. Don't believe me go over and look at the Montana State fan board and read up on the NDSU/Ball State win thread. You can talk till your blue in the face about the BSC (and I hope you get in) but with the west coast biased it aint happening tv/cable contracts or not. If the west coast schools don't want to travel to Fargo/Brookings they won't want to travel to GF without a travel partner (or even with one in USD).

Wow you people really have little brother syndrome in a big way. I could care a less what happens anymore to your beloved school as long as it doens't increase the already screwed up funding inequity formula to cover your move up. I post a comment on what I think will happen and you jump all over it and try to tell me what I think. I don't have to wish it to happen I think in time it will come to fruition without me or anyone else hoping one way or the other.

Everyone including myself is only speculating on what will happen. So here is my prediction, you guys will make the move, your financials won't improve enough to cover the increased costs, your president will depart and leave the problem for someone else to fix and the move will ultimately set you back instead of move you forward as you hope it will. I'm not posting this as smack I just don't see the increase in $$ that it will take to make the move happen being made up in increased giving by alum or your fundraising efforts. Time will tell and we will see what happens.
