I'm so effing sick of hearing what Blais would do with this team, or with the DOT line. He had some bad years, too. What did he win with Parise, and Stafford, and Bucks? Nothing! What did he win with those kick-ass teams in '97 and '98? Does no one remember losing to frickin' Ferris Satate at the Mooch? Sioux aren't that bad, and their best player is hurt, and a couple others, too. They don't have any finishers right now, but they are one of the best in the nation and playing for something every year.

Wisconsin, yes, Minnesota, no. Wisconsin has had the best fans I have seen for participation in the WCHA. Minnesota is burdened by old season ticket holders that RARELY stand up, and will get loud when the Gophers score more than once a period and maybe on a 5x3 pp. However, Minnesota does have a good set of cheers and a good band. Wisconsin has the whole fan package, imho. Mariucci can often be like a morgue even when the Gophers are in the lead. As for the original question of the thread, haven't you been to a college hockey game in the last decade? They say that EVERYWHERE.

What more are they supposed to say? List what they have ruled out and then list what it could possibly be? Give a full medical history? Seems to me he was pretty clear when he said that they don't know what it is and more tests are needed, including the ones scheduled for Friday and thus the reason he won't make the series.

Dear Sioux and/or Gopher fans. I have 2 lower bowl single seats available for Friday night's game. Lucia has only had 2 teams with losing records in 21 years of coaching. 13 NCAA appearances, 3 top three finishes in addition to 2 titles. We're still talking about young adults dealing with school, girls, hormones, being away from home, all the issues of adolescence... so many intangibles that make a loss on any given night infinitely more possible. Diminishing his coaching ability is stupid... he is a good coach. Same with the detractors of Hak. Not winning it all? It's hard to win it all, and his coaching career is far from over. All teams have players that like/dislike their coach. There were plenty of players that despised Blais, too. UMN and UND have two of the best in the business, period.

No. Depends if the Gophers get past Mankato and then if they win the play-in game. If so, the Gophs play Friday night and it would be against the Sioux (if CC and the Sioux get to the FF). If all the higher seeds win, the Sioux will play Friday afternoon and CC will get the nightcap.

Really? I would take a Frozen Four appearance over either of those, especially when it includes ending a rival's season. This should be a poll.

H2H games are the first tiebreaker and St. Clown was swept by the Landcows this year, thus, Mankato would get the breaker. EDIT: official tie-breakers a) If two or more teams are tied, head-to-head competition during the regular (conference) season will be used to break the tie. b) If two or more teams are still tied after (a), the highest seed will go to the team with the most WCHA (conference) wins during the regular season. c) If two or more teams played a four-game series during the regular season and the teams have the same win-loss records for those series and the same number of WCHA wins, the team having the least number of goals scored against it in the four-game series shall have the higher rank. If two or more teams played a two-game series during the regular season proceed to tie-breaker d). d) If two or more teams are still tied after applying the provisions of (a), (b) and ©, the team having the greatest `winning margin' during the regular season will have the higher rank. Winning margin = WCHA goals for during the regular season minus WCHA goals against. e) Games played against WCHA opponents in holiday tournaments will not be counted in the determinations.

I was disappointed in the Gopher weekend attempt at the white out/green out. There definitely needs to be someone to step up and provide a shirt everyone can put on for this to actually have a chance to work.

I was actually surprised to see as many protesters as I did. Quite a few on the east side of the building by where the students enter. They almost had a tunnel formed where people had to walk through to get into the arena and were more abrassive than I thought they would be.

Oh yeah, the protesters were there, screaming at my buddy about raising his four year old girl to be a racist (she did have a sweet Sioux road jersey on). I find it ironic that the protesters hurl plenty of insults of their own and make blanket assumptions about people just for being UND fans.

Wasn't that third goal a two line pass to the guy streaking down the middle? I thought it was a great play by SCSU rather than a breakdown by UND. I was very happy with the overall play of the Sioux compared to when I saw them against the Gophers. They were aggressive, stole a lot of pucks in the neutral zone and at the SCSU blueline when SCSU was trying to get out (one by Martens sticks out to me), the D was jumping into the offensive play a lot... overall, much better. After the goal by Lasch, UND went right back to work. Malone was aggressive out there, good to see him on the ice. If whoever it was would have burried that half open net chance when it was 2-2, Sioux win.... half the Sioux fans there were already off their seats to celebrate on that one.... I still don't know how it didn't go.

Zach Budish is "accidently" running into Lucia today and chatting a bit. I will try and get the scoop on what he thinks of the two programs side-by-side next week.

Remember that they also lost Bishop for the middle half of the season and, as corrected, still made the Frozen Four. You think Engelstad was dead on Saturday? You should have been at Mariucci yesterday afternoon. Someone posted the 19-1-1 record before the New Year in 02-03. All that got them was a spanking at the hands of Ferris State in the first round at Mariucci. Relax.
