  1. You beat me by three minutes Congrates to Cichy, hopefully he plays well in the tournament.
  2. I said non hockey pipeline areas, that's is what I meant to fit him under.
  3. I think Miller is better than what some may think. In terms of fowards and point production, he's third behind Duncan and Oshie. Having a 24 point season isn't bad for a sophmore playing on the 4th line. I can't remember who centered the 4th line, but if it was him he might be a pretty good canidate to center the top line.
  4. All of them are 90 birthdates and make the cutoff for next years draft, so all could be drafted next summer. As for order, it's way to early to predict that, much depends on what happens during their seasons and at the combine.
  5. On another note, St. Cloud picked up a pretty highly rated foward out of Swiss today named Luca Cunit. He is coming in this fall and was a third round draft pick this year and apparently on the ice he is pretty damn good. According to Chris, it is a bit of a gamble due to some off the ice stuff. In terms of on the ice, it doesn't seem like a bad idea for a school like St. Cloud to take players from non hockey pipeline areas or Europe (Lasch, Nodl, and now this kid). Many of these kids don't know much about college hockey and that would make it easier for those schools to get some top players out of those areas.
  6. Cichy led all of our recruits in points at the Select 17's this week with 11 points in five games, followed by Kristo with 6, Fink with 4, and Gleason with 3.
  7. The Select 17's just finished today, here are the top scorers for the camp. http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=5&t=3
  8. I forgot to mention that the elite league has came here in years past, last year they brought four teams in for the weekend including Shattuck.
  9. Remember that Trupp played center when he was in juniors whereas Malone and Frattin played wing. Realisticly Trupp or VandeVelde would be best to center the line simply because they have both played center. There are times when wings can step in and play center, VandeVelde I believe played wing in juniors, although he was brought in to center because it wasn't working out with Kozek on the second line. Unless they move Oshie to center, I think you will see one of these two on the first line.
  10. Cichy is right along with Toews and Gregoire as the best fowards in the class and would be brought in over any of the others.
  11. I posted it in the prospective recruits forum, but Gleason will be participating in the elite league this fall. There was some mention on this board earlier about playing in the USHL earlier and this pretty much means he will play for Edina. He will probably play in the USHL next spring and come to UND in 08.
  12. Here are the rosters for the 2007 Fall High School Elite League, http://hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Type=B_...7-24C6665E2EBF}
  13. Here he is the central scouting video of him, http://mfile.akamai.com/16532/wmv/nhl.down..._malone_700.asx For those of you that were talking about Lapoint in some of the other forums and haven't seen him play, here is his scouting video http://mfile.akamai.com/16532/wmv/nhl.down...LaPoint_700.asx
  14. This brings up a good point. There is plenty of good summer hockey, just not in Grand Forks. It would be nice to see one the Select camps come here or host the 18U championships in April.
  15. I'm not going to ramble off about the Gophers to much but their defense isn't going to be weak, just young. Remember that we made it to a frozen four with four freshmen d-men. They have the talent on defense, it's just a matter of youth and inexperience. Although Briggs wasn't a great goalie, Frazee has been inconsistent and Kangas is a freshmen. I'd still take an experienced senior goaltender, especially with a young group of d-men.
  16. The Gophers will be a good team. Even though they lost three top blueliners and their goalie, remember they also return all of their fowards along with two very good incoming freshmen. I would give the Gophers the advantage at scoring depth, but us with the advantage in goal and at defense.
  17. After day three at the Select 17's, Cichy leads all UND recruits with 5 points in 3 games. Kristo and Fink went scoreless today and Gleason still has yet to notch a point. I forgot to mention this earlier, but on day one Kristo and Fink were on the same line and Fink had an assist on Kristo's goal and vice versa. Good to see team chemistry already developing a few years before There is a day off tommorow and play will resume on Thursday, here are the top scorers for the camp after day three, http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=5&t=3
  18. He went back to play for Vernon in the BCHL.
  19. He's committed to Ohio State for this fall.
  20. He isn't on the team, it's been talked about before on the board.
  21. It was reported by Rosen on WCCO.
  22. After day two all the teams have now played two games, here are the top scorers, http://www.oswebs.com/usah/public/report.a...amp;k=5&t=3
  23. After their first two games at the Select 17's, Kristo leads all UND recruits with three points, Fink and Cichy each have two points, and Gleason with zero.
  24. This is well said and is the reason hockey is and will always be number one here.
  25. When you look at it we have been pretty fortunate to even get this group back. This group combines top end talent with experience. Remember that we could have easily lost Duncan and Oshie. Granted players like Kozek, Watkins, VandeVelde, and Forney will have to step it up but looking on paper the talent is definetly there.
