  1. Essentially, they are looking for a practice goaltender. I would agree that an already enrolled student as a walk on would be the best way to go because you would only be talking about one year and you wouldn't have to worry about getting a player cleared through the NCAA for second semester. Another advantage of it is that you could have a third practice goaltender for the rest of this first half so you wouldn't wear out Lammy and Walski so much.
  2. Oops, my bad, these games are in progress and not completed yet, you can follow the live stats by the link I provided above.
  3. Hextall had an assist in today's 3-1 win for Canada West against Germany. As for the USA today, a 2-0 loss to Belarus isn't exactly a great start to the tournament.
  4. I think so also. We were recruiting Brandon Maxwell from the NTDP program before he committed to BC. Now the goalie on our radar has been Mike Lee from Roseau. Both of those guys are 2009 prospects, so the scholarship has been held out until that point. Because of this, I would imagine the player coming in now will not be on much of a scholarship.
  5. I was informed that Zach's visit did go well and he liked everything about UND starting with the facility. He was told that he is the "missing piece" of the 2009 recruiting class. He will be visiting Minnesota this weekend and I wouldn't be surprised to see a commitment to one of the two shortly after that. I don't think he will visit many other schools, but I could be wrong.
  6. You can't bring in a recruit midway through the semester. They could do it after the Gopher series for the spring semester, but until then they will either have to go with two goalies or have an open tryout for students that are already enrolled at UND.
  7. Danny Kristo and the NTDP 18U team will be playing in the Four Nations Tournament in Switzerland starting on Tuesday, you can follow the results of the tournament here. http://www.sehv.ch/SIH/turniere/de/search....ate_from_day=07
  8. Sorry about the link, yes it is Dakota Collins. He was drafted by Sioux City in the futures draft, so I assume he will be playing for them next year.
  9. The 2007 World Junior A Challenge starts tommorow. Four of our recruits are participating in this tournament. Eidsness and Hextall will be playing for Team Canada West and Cichy and Blood will be playing for the U.S. team. Here is the schedule and the rosters for the whole tournament, Canada West roster, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ss_id/20071.htm USA roster, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id...ss_id/20071.htm Schedule, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/index.cfm/ci_id/24818/la_id/1.htm
  10. As some may have expected, the recruit visiting last night was Zach Buddish. On another note, I was recently informed that we have been recruiting a player from the FM-Jets. He has already made a visit here. He's only 16 years old, he played Junior B's when he was 14. Here is the link, http://www.fmjets.com/players.asp
  11. Remember that the recruit I was posting about is visiting tommorow night. There was a recruit tonight also.
  12. Sometimes you just can't leak it out. I posted that so fans would be informed that there is a recruit and maybe they could take notice of him.
  13. I wouldn't go as far to say it will be a sweep yet, CC is a good team. I picked them third in the preseason rankings and as we saw a few weeks ago they may be the number two team in the conference right now. This is one of my favorite series to watch because they recruit a good amount of Twin Cities kids, I watched Scott Thauwald in high school because he is from my hometown and I also watched Addison DeBoer and Chad Rau in high school.
  14. I didn't know if this was posted before, but Gregoire was player of the week, they had a nice question and answer with him, http://www.ushl.com/news/story.cfm?id=507
  15. I was over there today and was dissapointed. Way to much money for the quality. Does anyone know if they will be making an authentic or if some people on here have some game worn from last year?
  16. I can't say, sorry, if you're at the game you may be able to see who it is.
  17. If Bina, Chorney, and Finley leave, I'm about positive Gleason would come in next year. Realisticly you would like to have seven d-men. There have been some kids mentioned from the BCHL and AJHL, so the coaches have a few in mind.
  18. I was recently informed about a big recruiting visit on Saturday. I won't comment on who it is, but he has been on many teams radar for awhile and would be a big pickup.
  19. They will still have an offer for Nick Mattson, he's big time.
  20. Here are the rosters for this weekends NIT Tournament in New Hope, Minnesota White http://hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Type=B_...2-E1B5C089CE47} Minnesota Red http://hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Type=B_...A-951A18DDAE22} Also, there is a Sweedish team playing in the tournament for the next five years, here is the roster for those guys, M
  21. It's more than just that, they're also missing a town. Houghton, MI isn't exactly an entertainment hub. They're doing a good job with what they have, but I don't think they will ever get back to the prominence they once had.
  22. I will be attending the games at Michigan Tech this weekend, but for anyone that is not, the Shattuck Prep team plays over in Crookston on Saturday and Sunday, here is the schedule, http://www.s-sm.org/athletics/interscholas...rid=2007+-+2008 This week starts the playoffs for the elite league which is in New Hope, here is the schedule of the Friday first roud games, keep in note that Russell Stover is the number 1 ranked Midget Major team in the nation, http://hselitehockey.com/index.asp?Type=B_...8-DC618C3E2DEC} Here is the bracket for the rest of the games, http://hselitehockey.com/vertical/Sites/{4...58FA044FDC}.PDF
  23. That game was on the Big Ten Network (the whole ten people that get it) and against one of the worst programs in Divison 1-A football. Counting the final five, our hockey team gets six games a year on FSN North, the regionals get two games a year on ESPNU, and if we get to the Frozen Four we get on ESPN2. Although I supported both schools moving division 1, UND hockey will always be the top sport.
  24. He's played up here a the last few years at the Midget Major tournament. I only watched him in one game last year.
