  1. I'll do it. My plan is as follows: 1. A bar on campus, probably in the CF Library or Multicultural Centre, or both; 2. Ending of tenure; 3. No classes past noon on Friday; 4. Free beer at the President's abode on Saturday; and 5. Free Stream Yellow billboards on I-29 and I-94. Mo' later.
  2. What are you, the Thread Police?
  3. Yes, especially if they took advantage of the AI programs at UND to get their degrees, versus the U, Wisco, etc.
  4. Those silly Ivy Leaguers are at it again ... Princeton Eats It
  5. Almost anywhere in the lower bowl is excellent IMO.
  6. Good point. Perhaps we can ask this 'SU fan to reply.
  7. BRILLIANT!!!
  8. Today's Alert is "Orange" with a high probability of "Red" ...
  9. "But, but, but ... we're D1!" exclaim the exasperated Stream Yellow partisans.
  10. Well, at least they didn't lose, again.
  11. How does one "sew" seeds? Do you use very tiny needles and threads? Does Kupchella have a hobby left off his CV? Either Chuck was hiding something, or the writer is an unmitigated idiot. You decide ...
  12. If Myles had the votes to pass the measures through the general membership he would have done so, or at least started down that path now to render any court decision(s) moot. Moreover, if Brand did pursue that path, I'm sure he'd face one hell of a firestorm in Congress, the press and/or the courts if FSU had to give up its currently "non-hostile and non-abusive" name and logo.
  13. So did the cape match the tights or the boots?
  14. Hey, leave her out of this. As far as the season, I think the team really needed the win at CC. Whether they build on it, or continue to flounder remains to be seen. But I see some glimmers of hope.
  15. I don't really see Blais coaching in the WCHA or other college ranks for the foreseeable future. What would be his motivation? He's already won two Titles as coach, and done a great deal for the school and the sport. If anything, I could see him bobbing up in the AHL or ECHL as a coach, or perhaps getting another Assistant gig in the NHL before next season.
  16. Go Pat!!!
  17. As well as for the NC$$ to make money from the schools' names/logos who it has originally deemed "hostile or abusive", whether they've received a dispensation from Herr Brand or not. Apparently, if you give enough money to the NC$$ you can do what you want.
  18. I think Toews and probably Oshie are gone at the end of this season, regardless of FF appearances. However, I would guess that given their less-than-first rounder performances so far, their teams may be thinking AHL right now. That said, both players have what it takes to turn it up a notch when it counts, and this is a month ending in "y".
  19. Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Festivus, etc. from scenic Aspen, CO.
  20. State your cause(s) of action. Being an alum or student of a specific university that uses a "hostile or abusive" team/logo doesn't make you a member of a protected class, even under the Roberts Court. If you think admissions to grad and professional schools are completely objective and based on test scores, grades, etc., you are in for a really rude awakening. It seems the only people in this fight who think there's a chance in hell of a district court judgment in Grand Forks County holding any water outside of North Dakota's borders are the non-lawyers who think a parking ticket will get them in front of the US Supreme Court. And if you think I'm alone in my thinking in this: From UND's Strategic Plan. I didn't see anything in there about fighting to the last appeal, last dollar spent or to make a point about the absurdity of the NC$$ and certain schools' views on the issue.
  21. And what's to stop these same pencil necks from viewing applications from UND students/alums in the same light as they view the teams? The same people who institute these policies may also be the same people who review applications for professional and grad schools. If you're so myopic as to think these people would not make that leap at some level, you haven't been following this discussion or fully appreciate the fact they are completely divorced from reality, which explains why they are in academia.
  22. And *who* is the beneficiary of your alleged fight? Alums who can thump Sioux logos on our overpriced jerseys and sweatshirts? Sure, we can beat the NC$$ in court, and public opinion, and do what? We may have a judgment that probably will not extend beyond GF County. We can rightfully point out the hypocrisy of the NC$$, and schools have decided to not schedule UND because of the name/logo, and keep ourselves warm with insults against pencil-neck PC losers. However, is the school better served because more natural rivals like Wisco, Iowa or Minnesota refuse to schedule our teams? Will we feel better, or draw enough fans, playing Northern Illinois or Central Florida? Will we draw the fans and other support necessary to support these programs? Are you more proud of UND as an institution, or the name/logo? I've always expressed support for the name/logo, so long as the school and its students were not adversely affected by it. Well, it seems like the holes are starting to appear on the dikes. A smooth, finanically viable move to D1 takes precedence over the name/logo IMO. As far as "weak knees" ... I'll be in St. Louis for the Frozen Four if you really want to finish this discussion.
