  1. Right after he has an NC$$ Title ring for each hand.
  2. I was planning to show up and "coach" and/or lend my moral, actually, immoral support to the good guys. However, due to the fact we have clients who decide to make a major deal that will close at month-end on Friday ... I spent the good part of the day keeping their butts out of tax/legal trouble. Maybe next time. Wait until they get the bill ...

That's the mightiest fine, and probably most baseless, whine I've seen around here for awhile. What's the next chapter, how Parise was screwed out of WCHA ROY?
  4. I agree, Leif. This is where the game *really* means something. If the team isn't up for this one, mentally and physically, it'll be a long trip back to GF. If the team plays as well and with as much heart as they did in Mpls in January they have a pretty decent shot. While it is utterly critical that Brandt be on top of his game, the offense has to shoot the flippin' puck and go after the rebounds and garbage shots. There was too much dancing around and puck play against Duluth, especially near the end. Having Hale back would be a nice bonus, but aside from the emotional boost to the team, I wouldn't expect too much on the ice from him at this stage.
  5. Leinweber? Are you high?
  6. There's enough whining about the Hobey selections on USCHO, I think that's the perfect forum for pissing and moaning. That said, I was quite surprised that Parise was selected given his production drought in the second half of the season. Parise has a very strong upside and this season shows that he still has a great of deal of work to do, and potential, as well as the rest of the team.
  7. I thought Vanek was ROY. Oh the horror!
  8. I wouldn't call this a "hard luck" season at all. The team got what it deserved, in the standings and any seedings. There were nights when they played nearly flawless hockey, and others when it seemed like they didn't give a damn. In most of the losses we've had this season they occurred because the other team wanted to win it more, and then played like it. I'm generally pleased with the team's season, although there were times when I was completely frustrated by their lack of will to win. Hopefully, they take the ride as long as they can and build on it.
  9. Personally, I'd rather we go east or northeast as it increases our odds of making some headway in the NC$$. Unless something really *weird* happens, I don't see why we wouldn't make the trip. The team has already exceeded my preseason expectations in WCHA play by finishing 4th, so this is gravy for me, even though I have been disappointed by much of the play this latter part of the season. Then again, I'm already making plans for a FF trip to Boston in '04.
  10. I thought about not responding to yellowpus, but figured ... "I haven't abused a mentally deficient twit for awhile", so there I was.
  11. That's not a bad return on Ralph's investment ... I say take the money and run!
  12. Yeah, neither can read/write very well.

    Jake Brandt

Maybe this was exactly the type of series/outcome Jake needed to build his confidence. Sounds like he played a strong, mentally focused series and kept it simple. Anyway, kudos to Jake and the rest of the team for not giving up when they were down.
  14. As much as I love the Wooger's commentary, he *did* pick Denver in this series. Glad he was wrong. Anyway, a great win for the team. Hopefully, they turn it up in Small Paul.
  15. Oh, that's better on a number of counts. Nice win for the boys and I'm glad Brandt seems to have stepped into the job. Hopefully, they take it to the next level in St. Paul ... time for revenge. Now if I can remember where my car is ...
  16. Thank God, my bladder has its own area code now! Savior Zach, we thank you for your divine intervention and mercy. Forgive us for blathering about drinking and other sins ... we beseech you for more divine power and intervention in Small Paul.
  17. No s&!t?
  18. I remember a few years ago at the F5 at Target Center, we and the Wisco fans nearly drained their beer stocks. Couldn't drink at the regional the next weekend at Mariucci.
  19. I'd probably burn a nice blue after this weekend. Handy, you going to the POI game?
  20. I'd set my credenza on fire if it would help, but I don't think fire dept would appreciate it.
  21. A firm in Bloomington, I'm the only one here now ...
  22. Sounds like we have the "Big Mo" ... we just have to close the deal. God, I have to p!ss and I'm almost out of beer ...
  23. Come on boys, keep the puck in Denver's zone and keep skating!
  24. That crack buy is looking better the longer this goes ...
  25. I may have to stop on East Lake Street and buy some crack ...
