  1. Hit 'em hard boys, and quickly. Otherwise, I'll end up passed out at my desk.
  2. I'm still at work ... not really doing anything except sitting on this board and drinking a beer. I'd probably miss something if I drove home to catch the rest. And the Lord spaketh, "Blais, you shall lead my team out of the wilderness of Grand Forks and to the somewhat better promised land of St. Paul. There you shall account of yourself and then lead the team to east and beat some overrated, powerpuff HE or CHA team." And Blais replied, "Me, Lord?" Whereupon the Lord replied, "Who the hell do you think I'm talking to?"
  3. Money has to put it away ... Dear Savior Zach, we your unworthy, groveling fans beg you to smite the DU heathens with your mighty stick and bring peace, tranquility and good night's sleept to your worshiping, overstressed toadies. In Hobey's name, Amen.
  4. Gotta keep the pressure on DU and keep the puck down there.
  5. GO SIOUX!!!! This is where it counts the most!
  6. Nice way to end the period, hopefully the guys take that momentum to the next level and score early into the third. Blais must be going nuts right now since he's not there.
  7. Seems like the team's overall youth is showing this period. Somebody had better light a fire under these guys. BTW: Thanks for the updates for us working stiffs meeting corporate filing deadlines.
  8. As I've stated before, I think the team effectively peaked in January at Mariucci. A few wins here and there, a few ties, a few losses and a general lack of stepping it up to match the opposition this time of year. If the team had the same fire and desire they displayed in Mpls throughout February and to the present, their season wouldn't be dependent on how they played this weekend.
  9. I'd *guess* that Blais is doing what he can to put a positive spin on what can best be described as an "odd" season. He must be frustrated to no end knowing that this season should have panned out a bit better than it did, especially the second half. I'd also guess he knows that there are a few guys who don't show up as often as they should and it impacts the team's overall performance.
  10. Unfortunately, due to "client development" I wasn't able to see/listen to the game. However, if the recaps are even 1/2 true, this team is not yet ready for primetime, the NC$$ tourney and possibly D1 hockey. Sounds like Denver showed up to play and the Sioux ... were looking for prime seating to see a game.
  11. Sorry, kids, this boy is still on the sidelines. I have another MRI set for next week ... Besides, as a good fan I may just see who wants to play "Tie Domi" sometime. Maybe I'll just volunteer "coach" which will probably consist of yelling and challenging the Minnesota faithful to a drinking contest.
  12. Strong physicial forechecking and cycling the puck are keys to countering Denver's mugging of forwards. Pound the crap out of them every time they get near the puck. Pepper the goalies whenver possible, and maybe keep somebody like Money or Prpich camped in front of the net for garbage shots. And I agree with keeping our zone clear, so solid clearing passes and smart puck play in our end is crucial.
  13. Right after "Rocky Hagar Almost Comes Home: A Lifetime Special" and "Fear and Loathing in Fargo: NDSU's Blind Rush into D1, sans Conference".
  14. Whoa, I misread too ... shows what beating up the IRS all day does to one's reading skills. In any event, I'd be interested in attending BRIDGES' next conference on what they're doing to alleviate poverty, crime, alcoholism, unemployment, poor/no healthcare, etc. among the American Indian population that doesn't involve fantastic "links" to team nicknames. Yep, I'd take PTO to attend that one ...
  15. I'd love to see/hear Mills' views on this issue. Sadly, he'll probably just be painted as "unenlightened", "uneducated" or perhaps even as a "moron" by the name-change crowd. More power to him for standing up for his views!
  16. Nice, well earned sweep by the troops. I think it's telling that the team has kept working and grinding it out through the past month or so. It shows a lot of character and grit. Hopefully, they keep working and focus on driving Denver into the ground next weekend.

It might increase our odds of actually finding the net.
  18. I'm not. We might have better luck on the O if we had another guy upfront. If anything, we could cycle the puck more often. Anyway ... I don't always agree with what Hammy or other (Sioux, Minnesota, etc.) fans/posters may say about UND, Blais, hockey or whatever. However, I do think this is a proper forum to discuss those issues, regardless of the opinions expressed, or who expresses them. Protestations of "defending" Blais, UND or whatever seem to be merely pretexts to personally attack somebody for things that happened on USCHO, POI or even here.
  19. That'll teach you.
  20. Well said. This kind of bickering belongs on USCHO.
  21. TFF!! "Not that there's anything wrong with that."
  22. I'm sure it would make Hammy very happy to see the Sioux win another Title or three over the next few years. And the rest of us Sioux fans too.

Frankly, technology amazes me. The have wireless computer setups on the short buses now. Wow.

There were comments in the papers about how the guys are tired of practice and want to play, etc. Given how they've "played" the past month or so, they should probably practice a helluva lot more than they are now.

I agree. A number of people have been quick to blame the goalies. However, if the rest of the team is slacking we're not going to win. Too many no-shows on this squad. Guys that were contributing the first half of the season seem to fallen off the map.
