Yikes! Time to end that streak. I think Holy Cross was a beneficiary of one of those teams.

That game would definitely get the endorsement of gfhockey.... I don't think anyone would stand a chance head to head against him!

Careful...you know what happens when you are critical of our coach. Besides it's not April yet!

Clay is great. He called one of my favorite games....the Porter wrap-around that sent us to the FF and sent the rodents golfing! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2uZBMaaAzhE

I hope they grabbed the manual that includes the troubleshooting chapter "how to rebound from being swept at the conference tournament" before they burned it! :-0

That 5-1 drubbing on Saturday afternoon had me considering all my options. If not for the retribution potential on this board, I may have made an early departure for the Pourhouse. Fortunately, I had a moment of clarity (or maybe cloudiness) and decided to stick it out to the end hoping for some positive to get me through this week. Oops.....I just realized this thread was for the players leaving early for the pros. Please continue with the information intended for this thread.

West Regional tix wanted
Old Time Hockey replied to Sioux Hockey Fanatic's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Low supply. High demand. Plus if you live within an hour or so of Fargo, hotel, airfare, etc not required. I figured that prices would get crazy when this was announced. BTW, I have heard rumors of people willing to pay much more than $400 per seat. One could only imagine what they would go for if the gophers were in this region! -
West Regional tix wanted
Old Time Hockey replied to Sioux Hockey Fanatic's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
What are tickets gonna sell for next weekend? Very low supply, very high demand! -
Simonson or Olson or Murphy. I believe that Murphy played well enough yesterday to warrant another chance. IMO Olson has the higher end talent but Simonson brings an upgrade to the team at the face-off dot. The three all have strengths and weaknesses so I really see them as interchangeable at this time and really don't care who is in. Bottom line they have to be better as a team in the defensive zone and need another line aside from 13-14-21 producing goals. If 8, 9, and 15 can't get going, I don't see this team making a very deep run.

Hak is going to have his hands full this week. Instead of a fun week of preparation for the regional, he is going to have to go into full damage control mode to right the ship. Anybody remember where they parked the ship?

BREAKING NEWS..... From the BIG hockey competition committee....... In an effort to triple attendance next year, all schools will be mandated to bring their bands.

"Tonight's 50/50 winner is 3.....please go to guest services immediately to claim your $7.50" "Get your 2 for 1 hotdogs during the second intermission" "Tomorrow's matinee game is free with your ticket stub from last nights Little Ceasars game." "Autograph signings will be available after tonight's game for the 2 kids in attendance"

University of North Dakota Hockey 2014-15 season

Nick Oliver is one of the classiest kids in the league. He is a solid captain for his team and whining and arguing with referees for his team are 2 different things. He is a lunchpale kid that is respected by all that play beside him. I was not at all surprised by his award! -

Good post. Bad luck for Panzer that year as he would have won the award 9 out of 10 times with the season he had, but Miller deserved the award. The beauty of that whole scenario is that we ended Millers season in the Frozen Four if my memory serves me well. Wasn't their best forward serving a suspension for that game? IIRC, the conspiracy was that WCHA officials assessed the penalty because their next opponent was the Sioux. Sucks getting old and not being able to remember all the details. -
I agree... I don't know if it is in the cards that you guys get to any regional. Good luck in Michigan this weekend. Should be some exciting hockey with all those quality teams representing the Big 6!

I skated there last week and the ice was better than before the high school tourney.

Doesn't matter to this team. Thinking back, I bet Duncan would have given up his Hobey for a national championship. That's the prize this team is after. The Penrose is great, the conference tournament championship would be nice, but this team has one ultimate goal and that is #8. They would gladly give up all the other hardware to hang a national championship banner! -
If I can't have fairy unicorns, then my vote is for no nickname.

Yep! Little rust early but very good 2nd.

Coaching in college is much more than just getting the most out of players. Recruiting and maintaining high level players is a huge part of college coaching. I think this is one of Haks strength, albeit he has more tools in his toolbox than most other programs with our facilities and tradition. Were I have been critical of Hak is his ability to win at the Frozen Four (please don't turn this into a fire Hak debate). That said, I believe Hak deserves to win coach of the year based on his body of work throughout the regular season. -

I think Mac wrapped up defensive forward of the year when he blocked Brodzinskis shot! That play summarized his body of work.
