I was busy getting 1 kid off to school and the other 2 ready for daycare. Didn't hear anything about it until my drive into town. A friend of mine called me and told me. My 1st stop that day was Walmart for office supplies. Instead, I spent quite some time in the sporting dept watching things unfold on the TV there. I have never heard Walmart so quiet. 9-11-01 will never be forgotten.

My thoughts on this: There are so many threads in the men's hockey section that the threads about women's hockey might get lost in it. When it comes to the popularity contest, men's hockey wins, hands down.

Britta is awesome on kills and blocks. If you get a chance. look at her profile on the volleyball roster. She lit up the high school volleyball world, and hopefully it will carry on through her college career. In high school, I think she won about every possible award she could have. Not only that, she is one of the nicest girls around.

During the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, at 1 performance (it's a 10 day event) every cowboy, cowgirl, bullfighter, etc, that is competing, wears a pink shirt for Breast Cancer Awareness. There are 15 athletes in each of the 7 events, so thats alot of pink. Even bullriders are tough enough to wear pink.

I think those are great. I dont know why he is getting into trouble. He must have worked hard to get that to work out.

What is the "normal" time frame that a contract is renewed? With 7 months left on Haks, is there really reason to worry that it wont be renewed?

My husband and I were in Northwood today and cooked our pizzas for the relief workers and residents. Any of the people we talked to about their home were all in good spirits and said they will get through this. They all feel very lucky to have come out if this alive. Everyone was so nice today and thanked us over and over for coming to make them lunch. Today we made 60 pizzas, and tomorrow we are making another 100 for the supper shift. Anyone who is looking to help should call the command center at 701-587-6301. They will need our help for quite some time. This sure puts life in perspective.

This is tragic. I live in Thompson, and noticed some trees down around town when I took my kids to school this morning. 1 tree was HUGE and ripped right out of the ground, roots and all. My heart goes out to those in Northwood.
