  1. HAHA, the fond memories of old fights are brought out from current ones because it doesn't happen in the college game very much anymore.
  2. If anyone has a copy of Schneider's fight vs. that kid from Manitoba, would be super cool. I'm gathering videos of the greatest fights. I now have the Vannelli vs. McMahon, Kaip vs. Anderson, and Prpich vs. Peluso.
  3. Wasn't there a fight last year between UND and Mankato where Smaby was cross-checked from behind, and that's what set off Zach Jones though? Maybe we're talking about a different scrum, this one happened with Smaby and Zones being involved. I'm not sure, but I think we're talking about two different fights that happened.
  4. I stand corrected, the McMahon vs. Vannelli fight was two years ago in 2005 his senior year. And, you're right about the Mankato fight, it was Smaby with Radke and Finley who were involved.
  5. If anyone has a copy of the fight last year between UND and Mankato at the Ralph, that would be sweet. I would like to see how Zach Jones and Kyle Radke just flipped out, and seeing that Mankato player being practically tossed into the penalty box was priceless. It was a great fight, and the reaction from the crowd was spine-tingling. If anyone has it, please post it here on SiouxSports.com, that would be much appreciated. Also, if someone has a copy of Mike Commodore's fight with Alex Brooks of Wisconsin then that would be really awesome too! As for the Kaip fight last weekend, it was great to see someone drop the gloves finally. I think it lit a fire underneath the players, and Kaip definitely is a fighter in a good way. The boys are ready to make a run, the season starts now. Look out Beavers, the Sioux are on the prowl. Last year's fight with Vannelli and McMahon was sweet also. It's neat how Kaip was in a smaller scrum then too, only fitting that he is our instigator this year. Fighting needs to be more accepted then it is, just to a certain extent.
  6. There is no one more deserving of this captaincy position for the U.S. team, Chorney is going to be great for this team. He will come back after the World Juniors and continue to be a major bright spot for the Sioux hockey boys! Good luck USA and Go Chorney!
  7. Yes, Finley played pretty physical out there. Chorney and Oshie continue to give their heart and soul to this team. Porter works hard out there, busts his ass. The missing ingredient in my mind, the ever so piss-poor waste of a talent Lamoureux! He absolutely sucked it again, three soft goals for another !@#!$ ass game from him. He needs to get his ass benched, the coaching staff could get smart and bench his pissy sorry ass! Lamoureux is the worst goalie on the team, and is a complete waste of a scholarship, waste of a talent and a total disgrace to the hockey program. Lamoureux should go back to high school hockey, because that is all he is; a high school star! He can't hack it his first two years here as a !@#!$ back-up, he never will make it as a full-time starter, what a waste of a talent Lammy is!!
  8. How does anyone keep faith when they continue playing a piss-poor waste of a talent in net? He just loses games for us, great last three games he has played for us. Wow, the coaching staff is certainly blind to keep giving Lammy the starts.....he is an absolute disgrace to UND and a complete waste of a full scholarship, absolute waste of a talent! Another great game by Lammy tonight, by the way! Let's give him the Hobey Baker because he is the ever-so-protected Grand Forks native. Lammy sucks s&!t!!
  9. It would be nice to see a goalie give UND a chance to win each night. Wisconsin has a goalie that keeps them in games, Minnesota has a goalie that steals a game or two, look at Alaska-Anchorage or Michigan Tech. Why does UND play a goalie who consistently has a poor to horrible performance in net, gives up bad goals every game, does not ever make big saves when the team needs to be bailed out, and consistently is just plain awful in net? Lammy needs to be benched because his play is evident of his attitude....piss poor!! Waste of a scholarship, a complete washout wasted talent.
  10. Guess what, did I ever say that I played hockey? No, I never played hockey in my life and have never had anything like a girlfriend lost to Lammy. He just plain out can't win games for UND. Should a coach play a goalie because he's a good individual or a decent player overall? Or should the coach play the goalie who gives the team best chance to win? When has Lammy won a game for UND? How many games has he been so poor that if UND makes two mistakes it costs them the entire game. Elliott, does he give his team a chance to win every night? Hell yeah he does, Lammy doesn't help the team at all. He gives up bad goals, does not make the saves he needs to, and Hakstol said that in Friday night's post-game show. I quote Hakstol here, "He didn't make the saves he needed to make."
  11. What has Lamoureux done in his three seasons at UND? He doesn't make the saves that he is supposed to, quoted by Hakstol in the post-game show after Friday night's loss; gave up a couple bad goals each night, and doesn't bail the team out when they need a big save like GOOD goalies do. I don't care what any of you say, Lammy should not be the starter for this team. Give Walski a fair chance at some playing time, see if he can spark the team, or let Grieco back in the nets.
  12. Very true about Finley here, but guess what? Lammy blows all over the ice, cost two games against Wisconsin when we scored at least or above Elliott's goals-against average. Three goals Friday night, two tonight and we lose both games at home. Why? Because we played piss-poor Lamoureux who certainly can't make a save when his team needs one. He doesn't bail out our team when they make a mistake like the GOOD goalies do. Take Elliott for example, he made huge saves both games that preserved the lead last night and tonight for the Badgers sweep at the REA. We got swept by the diving Badgers for the second year in a row!!! Thanks a lot Lammy, what a waste of a talent you are! You're going to be the greatest washout to ever play goalie at the University, you're a disgrace to this program and tradition!!
  13. Lamoureux is our pain-killer, he can't stop a beach ball if his life depended on it. If we keep that loser in the nets, then Hakstol is blind man walking. Lammy stays in net, our season is pissed down the drain and a complete waste!! Lee and Finley need to step up and play D with a mean streak, but they're both too lazy to do anything worthwhile. Most of all, take Lammy out of the starting position because he loses the games for us. What a waste of a talent, a scholarship wasted down the drain, a complete washout. Probably the most overrated talent to ever mind the nets at UND!!!
  14. I'm glad to see one of the spineless thugs brought to justice even though I was surprised that the report said he turned himself into the police. Quite admirable, but probably was feeling a lot of heat and didn't expect to get away with this god-awful act of violence.
  15. This is an absolute horrible story, the violence against these BU players is not good. So the players went to a party, it was after the weekend's games were over with; the players who were involved all are of age to drink. Coach Parker allows them to drink if they are of age, and it's allowed on Saturday nights. No players broke any team or legal laws, and they get beaten to a pulp. God-awfully wrong, and I want to see these thngs brought to justice.
  16. Yes, Erik is definitely one of the players that I classify as heart and soul of this team; along with Porter and Bina, maybe even Toews. Fabian has worked his tail-end off for four years, battled injuries every season and is a fantastic role model, great person!! I hope Fabian can go somewhere after UND to play hockey because that is what he hopes to do. Let's hope Fabian is ready for Wisconsin, because they will need his leadership and experience!! Go Sioux, beat the Sconnie Badgers!!
  17. Oshie and Johnson most likely will be in St. Louis next season, Toews will be in Chicago. As for the defensemen, the only early defection I see is Taylor Chorney who is having a monstrous year up to this point. Lee has been average for the most part, taking untimely penalties, being beat and lazy at times and helping a little on the power play with assists. He needs to pick up his game a lot if he's going to be ready for the NHL, but I don't see Lee signing after this year yet.
  18. I was taken by surprise that Mario chose NMU over UND or Red Deer. If he wanted to play with a brother, he could have chosen to play with Phil at UND or Pierre at Red Deer. Northern Michigan is not going to be a super quality team ever, no offence to them. I think UND could win an NCAA title this year or next season, and Mario will wish he chose to play hockey with Phil at UND, no offence to Jacques. We missed out on Mario, in my opinion because of his parent's dis-interest with UND's handling of the goaltending situation the last two years. It's unfortunate that happened, but we missed out on having Grant Potulny and then Ryan Potulny and Danny Irmen because of their father too. We don't really want players who will have parents that just meddle with the coaches' business, so Mario is better off at NMU. Good luck young Lammy, best of luck to you.
  19. Yeah, let's just hope it's something real minor as a driving with a suspended license. I don't think drinking under the influence is too minor, but not as serious as an assault charge. I hope it's real minor if true at all even.
  20. Very good article about the hockey team, and I'm getting even more and more super pumped for Sunday's first game. It's only an exhibition, but I still can't wait for the season to finally be here again. Go Sioux! Oshie and Toews for Hobey finalists 2007!!
  21. Oshie is going to be a stud this year, a top ten finalist for the Hobey Baker Award. Oshie for Hobey 2007!!!
  22. This is too bad for Malkin, he's a hell of a talent. Hopefully he's healed quickly and ready to win the rookie of the year!!
  23. Besides Malkin as a favorite for rookie of the year, who else is there that might challenge him for it? Malkin is just my prediction, but I'm sure there are others out there who are just as capable of winning it.
  24. Maybe "breathless" is a bit far out there. I do believe that Malkin will wow the NHL this year. He's focused and dertermined to finally be playing in the "Big Show", and with Crosby will team a dangerous 1-2 center combo. I pick Malkin for rookie of the year!!
  25. I think it's great to see Evgeni Malkin in the NHL finally, he's going to be a great addition to the league's desire for offense and fan attraction. His offensive skills and explosive talent will put people on the edge of their seats, and breathless too. Malkin and Crosby together in Pittsburgh gives them a dangerous duo at center. Pittsburgh should be tough, if they can get solid goaltending and defense.
