  1. Actually, if you look at the link again it does list him as a sophomore...not a senior.
  2. Yes, pummel those damned Pioneers! Ultimate revenge for the Bina incident is by sweeping them. No need for any retaliation against Paukovich, it will hurt worse if we beat them on the scoreboard! I expect a split realistically, but I'll go out on a limb and predict a Sioux sweep!!
  3. That is corerct, I just re-looked on USCHO.com and saw that it's St. Cloud State @ Wisconsin. Shows how much I know how to read, haha. Thanks PCM and tnt for correcting my mistakes.
  4. I think that Notre Dame would be the weakest #1 seeds of anyone, and yes I do believe they are overrated. They've had a really easy schedule, and have beaten the crappier teams in a crappier conference. But, that would be a good thing if we got seeded into their regional because it gives us an easier chance of making our third consecutive frozen four! What Jeff Jackson has done at Notre Dame though is incredible, he's really turned around the program a lot. They aren't a #1 team in the nation, in my own eyes. Minnesota and New Hampshire are better then Notre Dame, but the CCHA gets more attention then it deserves. I would like to see Notre Dame continue winning and improving, it's a good school.
  5. I do think the Huskies will sweep Wisconsin, it's in St. Cloud. And, Minnesota should sweep Colorado College. That'll keep the Badgers at the 21-pt. slot in sixth place, UND will move into a tie with Denver at 27 points and Colorado College in fifth with 26 points. UND will then have a shot at either getting 2nd or 3rd, depending on how they do against St. Cloud on the final weekend of the regular season. Who would have thought huh? Back in December, UND sat at eighth place in the WCHA and now have a realistic shot at top three just as they were predicted at the start of the season.
  6. Yes, if anyone does locate a picture or video of the Prpich-Mannino incident it would be awesome to see it posted here on SiouxSports. I'm also a big Prpich fan and would love to see all that took place. I actually missed that game, and didn't see when Prpich took a swig from Mannino's water bottle.
  7. Darn, I forgot about that. I was just thinking that Porter's strength and power would give him a shot to make it in the NHL. I know the game is a high-speed, fast flowing game now. Hopefully Porter just gets a shot somewhere after UND.
  8. Yes, Toews is playing absolutely dominating right now. The goals he scored were all classic example of Toews' ability to skate, find open space and snipe the puck with brilliance. Let's just keep it up all the way through the second weekend of April, then we can hang banner #8!!
  9. If that is true, then maybe Porter will be a solid NHL power forward with his work ethic and grinding muck-it-out style game. If so, great for Porter. He's one of my all-time favorites, I love his hard work and leadership.
  10. Realistically I don't think Wisconsin will sweep St. Cloud State, and yes I agree that I'd be completely satisfied with third place...especially after the first half the team had. But, it won't matter what the other teams do unless UND sweeps this weekend. I agree, it was tough to see them play so great Friday night and completely differently Saturday night. I do know that some of the boys like to party a lot, but that's college life. They'll do what it takes to win, I have a lot of confidence in these boys.
  11. PCM, I stand corrected. I do see that Porter indeed is already drafted. I really hope he gets an opportunity in the NHL, but it'll be a tough show for him.
  12. UND needs 4 points this weekend because if a few scenarios happen this same weekend: 1.) Denver does not play this weekend at all. 2.) Minnesota sweeps at Colorado College 3.) Wisconsin sweeps vs. St. Cloud State The updated top five standings would like this: 1. Minnesota 37 pts. 2. St. Cloud State 29 pts. 3. Denver 27 pts. North Dakota 27 pts. 5. Colorado College 26 pts. That means, the next weekend we will head to Denver only two points behind them for third place and then to St. Cloud State with a realistic shot at finishing second behind Minnesota. If we can sweep Duluth, and get some help I see us moving from fifth up to as high as second possibly. It's an iffy, but possible.
  13. Duncan should definitely be a candidate for the Hobey Baker, even though I really don't see him winning it. Toews and Oshie got all the more attention from UND, and it's hard for a player to win if a team has more then one solid candidate for the award. It takes some of the attention away from him to his teammate. I think Oshie would be a big reason Toews would not win, and vice versa for either Toews or Duncan. All three in my mind are worthy of consideration for the award, don't get me wrong.
  14. I really hope to see Porter with an opportunity after college hockey. I sure hope he is able to make it as an undrafted free agent, but I expect he will probably bounce up and down between the AHL and NHL. In the AHL, he'll be more of a standout player...in the NHL, more as a fourth-liner or sparingly-used player.
  15. That is right, the point has been made about his high draft status. With that, comes much expectation from Lee. It just comes with the territory of being a high-end draft pick, having that much talent. Lee is a solid player with room to improve. I really don't think any of us here at SiouxSports hate Lee, that is a strong word. We just expect more from a player with such talent and draft status. In my opinion, Lee has been good...but Taylor Chorney is the defensive MVP this season. He is in the top four on the team in scoring, only behind the DOT line of Duncan, Oshie & Toews. He has also been one of the team's best defensive players this year, so in my opinion Chorney has performed much better then Lee. It is not to say that Lee is a horrible or hated player, he has been solid...just not as good as his expectations up to date.
  16. Congrats JT, someone other than Duncan has finally won the Offensive POTW lol. With Oshie, Toews & Duncan heating up, this line is dangerous when the team needs them most. And better yet, players from all the other lines are scoring goals, and the team is getting very solid goaltending and defensive play. I like this team's chances of making a run in the NCAA Tournament. Let's see #8 get hung, go Sioux!
  17. That video link is awesome, thank you so much. I just can't get enough of this sweet fight.
  18. Thanks goon, I just watched the video. It's awesome, and I missed some of that great action when I was at the game.
  19. If anyone finds a link of the fight on YouTube, please post link here in this thread. I'd love to view this fight over because I was too busy yelling at the Mankato players and coach to see all of the action, lol.
  20. Thanks NorthDakotaHockey, it really was crazy. He was really getting mad at his #37 Jon Kalinski for even talking back to me. I was yelling at Jutting and two of the players who were actually listening to what I was saying. I said a lot of stuff and don't remember most of it, mostly that they were dirty and crap like that. It was fun, worth the admission of my ticket last night.
  21. I stand corrected, I meant to say Walski. I knew Lamoureux wasn't in net at the time, Walski was in which was fun to see. Lamoureux had a good game though, but it was cool to see Walski get some ice time finally. He deserves a chance once in a while, but if Lammy was in net he would have accepted Clark's challenge and fought. That would have been the capper to the best game at the Ralph this year. Too bad Lammy wasn't in net when this fiasco erupted.
  22. Minnesota State will have Matt Tyree, a fourth-line winger; Trevor Bruess, a third-line centerman and Lucas Fransen, a second-line defenseman out for tomorrow night's game. The goalies didn't participate in anything that I could see though Clark skated out to his blue line and waved at Lamoureux to come and meet him for a little get together.
  23. Yeah, I was standing right on top of the glass section where the cameraman stands between the two team benches. I was yelling names at Kalinski, and he started trash-talking back at me until Jutting told him to stop talking to me. Then I saw Jutting yell stuff at our team bench, and our players and coaches were saying stuff back to him. I didn't hear what was said, but it was classic Jutting crap! He is such a classless act, what a loser Jutting is! I hope he gets fired and never coaches anywhere ever again. He doesn't deserve to be in the college ranks, he's as cheap and dirty as Paukovich is!
  24. For me, it would be really hard to pick my favorite player. I would have reason to pick Fabian or Chorney since I have gotten to know them on a more personal level then I do most others on the team. But, the way Bina or Duncan has played this year is phenomal. Chorney has been an absolute rock for the defense, Miller has really stepped up this year and scored a lot of real pretty goals. I can't pick one favorite player this year, I have like 4-5 favorites lol. Is that allowable?
  25. You are right, Friday night had the fight that involved Smaby being cheap-shotted from behind setting off Zach Jones. Smaby, Jones and one other guy were in the penalty box, and the crowd reaction was just priceless when they were shown on the jumbotron. Saturday night was when Finley and Radke were involved, along with Oshie who pushed Finley away before trying to throw his weight around. Good times though, I miss those fights!
