For Sioux fans who need more Sioux stuff
wakeboarding_crazed replied to JESUS,family, rutgers's topic in Men's Hockey
Where would we find a link to an Internet site that sells these action figures? I'd like to get some customized Sioux hockey action figure. -
If you made RSP t-shirts, are you making more to sell to someone on an individual basis? I'd be interested in buying one, otherwise I'll definitely be interested in details of when this Red Seal Peach merchandise sale will be happening. I would like to buy a shirt or a hat or something like that.

Anything that I've got to say here about Prpich has already been said before, time and time again. I still want to thank you Prp for the most great 4 years you gave us here at UND. I've loved every minute of watching you're antics, getting into fights and instigating opposing players. It was a highlight to see you salute Geoff Paukovitch rightfully so, and thus getting Gwoz ejected from that game. What a great career you had, and I'm so honored to have watched you play. I hope that you make it back to Grand Forks and REA for visits after college, and good luck with all that you're future holds for you. Oh yeah, congratulations on making the Iowa Stars of the AHL. I look forward to hearing many stories of a successful career in the AHL, and who knows maybe one day you'll be instigating in the NHL. I too definitely hope to see a huge picture of you saluting the fans after the Holy Cross game, that was a sweet a&* finale memory of the Prpich legend!

Oshie is a tenacious player, with an intense attitude and love for the game that is far superior then others in the game. He loves to play hard and gritty, will dig in the corners for the puck, battles through checks and will hit people too. He's not afraid to play the game and make mistakes, and he's a goal scorer with great hands and positioning. If he sticks around for a couple more years, he'll definitely have a shot at winning the Hobey.

Lee Goren did not play on the 1996-97 national championship team, he was a member of the team but didn't suit up for any games due to the WHL issue. He didn't win a national championship with the Sioux until they beat Boston College 4-2 in 2000 out in Providence, Rhode Island.

According to Stafford at the Meet & Greet, Red Seal Peach is close to signing a record deal except they are torn between two record groups. I can't remember which ones he mentioned, but I want to say Sony was one of them. The band is torn between who to sign their record deal with. I really think Stafford will sign with Buffalo and also his band will sign a record deal. Stafford will be raking in the dough, he's close to signing two big-time contracts.

Wisconsin will never three-peat as national champions. They've lost Robbie "Dive" Earl to the pros, and Adam Burish, Tom Gilbert both graduated. Elliott is a possible flight-risk to Ottawa, so they could be in a world of hurt in a couple areas. Especially if Elliott does sign, then Wisconsin will be a middle of the pack team next year.
-
I believe you're right about the possibility of Stafford signing. I've felt all along that Smaby, Zajac and Stafford were the three highest flight-risk players on UND's roster this year. Two have already confirmed everyone's worst fears of leaving for the pros, and I also feel strongly that Stafford signs. After him I think the pipeline will end, I don't think any of the freshmen are ready for the physical and mental grind of an 80-game season plus playoffs, Parise said he guarantees he'll be back next year. But, until an official statement on Stafford or any others who haven't signed yet; we can all hope that we're wrong in our predictions. On a side-note, Earl of Wisconsin is no longer a Badger. He signed last night with Toronto and will report to their AHL affiliate this weekend but possibly may skate for the Leafs Sunday. Congrats and best wishes to the best diver in all of college hockey. Hope he has many successful dives in the pros as he did in college.

Another expected early departure, Smaby is now on his way to the next level of hockey, the National Hockey League. Here's to hoping he has many years of success up in the NHL! Congratulations Smaby, great to see you moving on to the best stage of sports, the highest level of hockey!! Thanks for the memories here at UND the past three seasons, we all had a lot of fun watching you pulverize opponents and the goals you did score were memorable too. Good luck in the Tampa organization, I hope to see you battling against David Hale, Travis Zajac, Brandon Bochenski, Zach Parise and the rest of the former Sioux up in the big leagues.
-
Lee, thank you very much for you're four great years here at UND. I have loved watching Fighting Sioux hockey, and you were the epitome of a class act. Always worked hard, was a leader on and off the ice, and provided us fans with some fantastic memories. The one I loved best, when we were playing Denver earlier this fall. End of the third period, and the fighting had gotten out of hand with DU. You completely took out the DU player much to the crowd roars and approval of us fans. We loved seeing you enact some sort of revenge from the Paukovitch-Bina incident. Thank you for you're talents and leadership. Good luck in whatever you find after college at UND, I wish you nothing but all the best in the world.

From talking to Stafford and Parise at the Meet & Greet, they practice in a recording studio. That is not open to the public, so us fans won't be able to see them there. Stafford did mention they also practice in the garage of his house, and that gets pretty crazy. He didn't say anything about people just showing up to watch, so here's to hoping they're going to play live somewhere. I too would also love to see Red Seal Peach in action.

Congrats Travis, a great accomplishment and exciting opportunity. You'll be playing with the highly-competitive New Jersey Devils organization, it won't get any better then that. Plus, you have the great opportunity of playing with former Sioux greats Zach Parise and David Hale. Sad to see this boy leave the program, he was a stellar two-way forward unlike Kessel or Vanek will ever be, haha. Penalty killing, face offs, did all the little things. Had a lot of fun watching you for two years, now we all look forward to hearing about you're success in the NHL. Good luck bro!

This topic is worthy of being its' own thread. He may not be a former Sioux great, even though he's a former Gopher great, still is a Grand Forks native. We haven't seen to many GF boys make it to the big show, so congrats to Ryan and good luck bro. Side note, he assisted on Philadelphia's third goal tonight. An even-strength goal scored by Joni Pitkanen at 13:39 of the second period with the other assist going to Sami Kapanen. I'm happy the kid is getting the opportunity with the Flyers and not being mired down in the lowly AHL, he deserves a shot in the big leagues baby!! First point in the NHL with many more points to come in the future. This is a bright star in the making, who cares if he used to play for the Gophers, he's in the National Hockey League; the best pro sport out there. That's impressive if I dare say so.

They were giving out the posters free at the REA during the Meet & Greet tonight. I got a poster this afternoon when I stopped out there during my lunch hour from work, great looking poster. I didn't want to take the chance of them being all gone by the time I got to the Meet & Greet tonight, so I went early to get one. They were only giving them out for as long as supplies lasted, not sure how many they have left. Check the REA pro shop if you still are trying for any.

Thanks Prpich, for the four years of great memories. So many of them to think about, the DU Water Bottle incident, the fight with Peluso, his antics throughout his career have really emblazoned you into glory in UND hockey history. Forever missed as the agitator of all agitators, and a super great guy off the ice. Wonderful to kids and others around him, a classic role model. I really hope to see this man succeed in whatever he does after UND. The best thing would be him signing a pro contract somewhere, even hopefully the NHL or AHL. Good luck Prp!!

Congratulations to Danny Irmen, making it another level higher in hockey and being one step below his ultimate goal is great for him. I'm glad he no longer is a Goopher, now I can continue cheering for him. I cheered for him when he played for Red River my senior year at Red River and his two years at Lincoln, but I had to stop while he played for the Gophers, lol. Now that he doesn't play for the hateful Goophers, I can cheer for him again. Best of luck Irmen, boy. I don't think he'll be given the opportunity to pull a stunt like his "jersey-pop" in the AHL or NHL, a big defenseman would smoke his a*s to the ice and knock the sh** out of him. I hope he excels in the NHL.

If anyone comes across a picture of the Andy Schneider vs. the Manitoba player back at the Old Ralph, please let me know. My e-mail address is markahansen@hotmail.com, and I'd love a picture of that fight. I've got a picture of Prpich vs. Peluso, we could exchange if whoever wanted too. Thanks, wakeboarding_crazed

Hey everyone, I also went to the Meet & Greet and had a very good time. I had a couple jerseys signed by a few players, a hat of mine by a few playesr and all players and coaches with the exception of Toews signed an autograph card that they gave out. Toews was the only player missing in action tonight as he was in Manitoba to be honored as a part of the Canadian World Junior Gold Medal winning team. Hey HockeyMom, how possible would you be able to send pictures that you took tonight? If you have any that I could get from you, send me a message or e-mail them to me at markahansen@hotmail.com. That would be much appreciated, thank you very much. I'm glad you're kids are so excited, I love these kind of events, the players are always so friendly and awesome.

You're exactly right iceberg, I forgot about UMD. I believe they'll be just below the top three level of talent next season, but I really hope to see them challenge for the middle of the pack with DU, CC and SCSU. I also agree that I'd rather see UMD as a rival instead of SCSU. I also would love to know why SCSU is continuously is nicknamed SCCC. Where does that come from, or is there some sort of an inside joke that someone could fill me in on?

It's hard to make predictions for next season. Minnesota is hurting from early defections, with two of there top three players gone. Danny Irmen and Ryan Potulny, the two ND boys have signed pro contracts leaving Phil Kessel, Blake Wheeler and Erik Johnson as the only unknowns for early Minnesota defections. North Dakota hasn't lost anyone, but it's still too early to say what'll happen. I think Smaby leaves just about for sure, Stafford is a high-risk defection, and possibly Zajac but I think he sticks around to play with Darcy for one year. Parise could have signed as an undrafted free agent this summer, but with the performance against Boston College will really hurt his stock. I believe he stays around, so I think UND will be ok. I don't know much about possible early defections for Wisconsin other then I wouldn't be surprised to see Robbie Earl sign a pro contract. He had an unbelievable season, earned MVP honors of the Frozen Four and scored the momentum-building game-tying goal to send Wisconsin on to win the national championship. The seniors obviously are done, but I don't know enough about the returning players to predict anything. I just hope to see UND in the top three next year. Denver and Colorado College will battle St. Cloud State for the final two home ice spots. Minnesota State, Michigan Tech and Alaska-Anchorage will battle for the last three spots in the WCHA next year. I've grouped my predictions into three classifications. The first tier group should be between UND, UMN and UW. The next tier group is DU, CC and SCSU State for the middle of the pack, and the last tier group is UAA, MTU and MNST for the rear of the pack.

I bet $5 on the Sioux-BC game and lost that bet, but I didn't bet too much money.

CVCL, I was the other guy who showed up to watch the team off to Milwaukee. You're father was a very nice gentleman, and great to talk to. He actually just bought a vehicle from the dealership that is owned by the same person as who owns the dealership I work for. And yes, it was himself and I with Pat Sweeney cheering on and wishing the boys good luck. Go Sioux baby! Can't wait! I'm leaving today right after work!! My first Frozen Four coming up!!! wakeboarding_crazed

I am one person who is looking for a way down to Milwaukee for the Frozen Four. I'd be willing to help chip in for gas, I've already got a hotel reservation in Milwaukee. I just need a ride there and back from Milwaukee whenever. Mark Hansen E-mail address: markahansen@hotmail.com Cell Phone number: 218-791-1333 Contact me if anything works out for anyone.

I fully agree with Sioux fans' statements here, who's going to the Frozen Four next weekend? That's right, T.J. Oshie is playing for the ultimate prize that all college hockey players dream of while Kessel, the one-move wonder puck-shooting hog will be admiring his INCH and WCHA Rookie of the Year awards while tipping back his fair share of Blarney's beer. Of course, they may not get as much free stuff being they didn't perform up to standards. Hard work will always beat talent who is lazy, that's why Holy Cross stunned the dirty rodents from Minnesota. Go Sioux baby! T.J. is the stud, but everyone gave Kessel the league rookie of the year the first day of the season. No one gave Toews or Oshie a chance from the beginning, they weren't going to at the end of the season no matter what. They tried making Kessel look like a god at the world juniors, that failed though, Kessel has been advertised as the next wonder of this world. He needs to look good and win these individual awards, otherwise USA Hockey looks like dumbasses! Who would you rather have? A individualistic one-move wonder who only shoots the puck or gritty, hard-nosed goal scorer who dishes it out as best as anyone? I'll take ONE Oshie over TWO Kessel's anyday!!

Tix Available for UND vs. BC
wakeboarding_crazed replied to Bucky Puck's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
I am definitely interested in two tickets together for either of those three sections, and even better if you had four available tickets in section 403, Row P. I have also sent you an e-mail, but let me know when you have any insight on what you're looking to sell. How much for the tickets?
