for sure? And SERIOUSLY...not a WCHA opponent for a WCHA banner? Why not build the suspense?
-
NO! Did you not read what I quoted? $500,000 on site prep that because the two buildings are going to be so close that had to be done at the same time. The Alumni Center is being funded by donations, I believe. UND admits that they made a mistake in not asking permission to do this. The other building is not additions to the presidents house. Which if you add additions while building a house, I don't believe they count as additions...they count as building the house. And again, the actual house did not cost 1.7 million...that was everything. If you are strictly talking the cost of the HOUSE, then UND spent $922,700 which is a lot less over budget than NDSU. Alice Brekke stated that $12,000 was miscoded...she was not in charge at the time that it was and did not know how that happened. She was going to check.
-
actually, the 1.7 million was on the house, the landscaping, and site preparation. The 1.8 million for NDSU's was the same thing. If you want the cost of the house and the house alone, it ran UND - $922,700 and NDSU - $1.47 million. The explanation for UND running over budget was this

Looks good to me...the only thing I noticed is that you have Karl Goehring as an assistant coach for the Moose...he is now an assistant coach for the Syracuse Crunch according to Brad who posted on his blog on Friday, July 24th that he was a coach for the Crunch.
-
hmm, I don't know then. He must be battling for that 7th spot? or maybe they want 8 goalies...the only person who really knows is probably the Pens Management.
-
I don't have an answer for you other than I was curious how many goalies they had, so I looked it up. Listed on the Pen's roster right now are four goalies, -John Curry who is 25 and was up and down between the Pens and the AHL last season and signed a 2 yr contract with the Pens in August of 2009. -Marc-Andre Fleury, who is 24 (he will turn 25 in Nov.) and was the Pens #1 goalie for most of last year...i believe -Brent Johnson who is the oldest of them at 32 and signed with the Pens in July after spending last season with the Washington Capitals. -Brad Thiessen, who is 23 and played for Northeastern Univ. last season...I did not see any news on him being signed, so I can only assume that he is there on tryout or did sign with them and it wasn't posted. Listed as in their system are three goalies, -Patrick Ehelechner, who is 24 and scheduled to play this seasonfor the Nuermberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the DEL according to the Hockey Database online. -Patrick Killeen, who is 19 and played in 08-09 for Brampton of the OHL -Alexander Pechurski, who is 19 and is scheduled for 09-10 to play for the Magnitogorski Metallurg of the KHL. The only thing that I can think of is that the three in their system are not yet ready and they are looking for more depth..Can anyone else figure it out? Oh, and applause to whoever can tell me how you pronounce Magnitogorski Metallurg!

Not sure about the price, I believe the replicas are due into the Sioux Shop at the end of this month. The price would be available then and I would think that they would be online as well, so through the mail would be possible.

you might know this already, but Diggler as always was being sarcastic...hence the Fire Hakstol comment in there. a minute too late on letting you know this.

the men's and women's jerseys changed because we switched to Reebok and they weren't going to use Nike's designs on their jerseys. I don't believe changing their jerseys had anything to do with the nickname.....not saying that the design may have factored in the chance of it changing, but the original idea of changing the jerseys did not. You guys can correct me if I am remembering things wrong. One first glance, I hated the new jerseys....until I saw them on a player. They aren't horrible, they are just not what we are used to. When comparing the two, I believe the Sioux head and the word Sioux are about the same size on both. The green sleeves won't be noticed after the gloves are on as others have pointed out. I can think of jerseys in college hockey that are worse than these. The only thing that I would really change on them is that SIOUX should not have white around it on a white jersey.....it needs to be black or green surrounding white letters or black with green letters......it seems to blend into the jersey the way it is right now.

Kaip is unavailable as he signed with the Thrashers and the Caps switched Finley to forward during camp asking him if he would in order to speed up his development. The Caps have a log jam at defense and they wanted him to try it. Both the coach and Joe say that it seems to be working out quite well until Joe got hurt.

He can't show caring one way or the other. He has to be neutral in order to keep peace with both sides...that is called being a politician. As a person who has spoken to President Kelley about the university and its traditions, I can tell you that he and AD Faison both care a great deal about the University and keeping our traditions and legacies alive as we move forward. They want to keep as much of the traditions as they can, but they can only go with the hand that they are dealt and they don't get to make the decisions here.

actually we have like 9 freshman! ten if the 3rd goalie is a freshie, too. -
That is cool that he got mention there.....he got mentioned in the Minot Daily.....the article that they stole from the Herald and put in their newspaper three days later!

Thanks so much guys!!!!!! And to the two of you that sent me pms. This is all good information and I have thought about going to other cities such as St. Cloud, Mankato, and Duluth. Unfortunately, the money train isn't flowing very heavily right now so we will see.

Hello, I am moving to St. Paul for grad school this fall and I had some questions before I get down there. 1. If buying tickets for the Sioux/Gopher game down there, where do you reccommend getting seats? The student section is not an option as I would get kicked out for getting into a fight at one point or another. 2. What places are there to watch Sioux Games in relation to bars/restaurants? I know Sensor's in Bloomington, but where else? Any help would be great! I am excited for the move, just not the constant Gopher news!

Would they get the call or would Fink? Mattson and Knight both told the coaches that they wanted to spend this year in juniors, Fink as far as I know has not said one way or the other.

I attended UND from 2004-2009, so relatively recently. What I was referring to is the fact that I was not around in the 70s when all of the interesting things that you all talk about doing where happening.

haven't seen it posted: per Brad: Men's Hockey on Twitter, Oshie Not First bit of news.....OSHIE IS NOT ON TWITTER!!!! Now, on to the important news.....Watty (Watkins) is now a free agent as Dallas did not sign him as of yesterday.

I love getting to hear all of your memories about the older teams and Denny....unfortunately, I don't remember that time period either (for a completely different reason) , I get to hear about it through you guys!

I have not seen this posted, but either way...it deserves a thread. One Last Zamboni Ride Denny Gunderson, the Zamboni driver at the Ralph has decided to retire with this week being his last week. The article goes into how well he has cared for the ice and how long he has been doing this. I just wanted to tell him thanks and for always having a smile at hockey games and when he cleaned the ice right before ice skating class for us....PS: that made it really slippery for skating...I only fell twice that day!!!!

Yes, but if by some miracle we get the agreement....we could still get the opportunities. We get the agreement and we are off the list as per the terms of the settlement, the "big universities" will schedule teams that are off the list....what is the difference between Florida State and UND if both are off the list? Yes, you can argue both ways...I understand that.

We have lost a fellow SS member / sioux fan today

My thoughts and prayers go out to Troy's family. This is so sad...I did not know him personally, but he was always a good person to listen to on here.
