It's no fun if you have to explain it. I meant the WCHA lost the cup to the other hockey league. Since the Gophers didn't touch it when they won it; the cup is every bit as valuable as ever.

It'd be one thing if those filthy rodents had touched it. But since they showed respect by keeping their grimey paws off it we can forget that they actually won it once or twice. So it's too bad that we lost the McCaughton cup.

I was just getting ready for the Regionals this weekend by watching the games from last year. (BU and BC) Zajac was excellent in the BC game last year. However it's not unusual to see a player have a Sophmore slump. Hopefully he's back next year, as I think he'd have his breakout year. If he has the kind of Junior year he's capable of he's likely to make more money when he does sign. (But then I'm not the "family agent."

I don't always understand pro-teams paying big money for a guy who's going to be playing in the minors for several years. But, if the teams are willing to pay them, then I don't find fault with someone making money doing what they're willing to do for free.

I'm sorta glad that we have a game to play Friday rather than a game against a "weaker" opponent. Looking back in my mind I think the Sioux at leat play better after playing a tough opponent. When the NCAA tournement was had 12 teams, the night off for the #1 seeds didn' t always help us. I think we started slow in some of those games: 1998 (against Michigan) and 1999 (against BU?) come to mind. Remembering those games it didn't seem that we had more legs then either team in the third period. On the other hand it's probably hard for Minnesota to really get pumped up for their game against HC. I'm sure they could get pumped up against either Us or Michigan as we are both rivals for them. If they do overlook HC they might get surprised. Some of the first round teams gave the #1 seeds good games last year. But if Minnesota does get pumped up for Holy Cross, they might score 7 goals in the first period. It will be hard for them to keep the play up for 60 minutes. That could also affect how they come out Saturday night against us or Michigan. Our task is a bit simpler. We either play 120 minutes of our-style hockey, or we're done for the year.

If it was a printer error, it's very likely they'd either do the make-up one for free or at a greatly reduced price.

Having a very good year too, dangit.

Are they consistent or do they suck like WCHA refs?

The thing is that he was just throwing things out there. What's funny is that the reporter just wrote things down. It'd be pretty easy to verify the strength of the CCHA. It'd be pretty easy to check out the size of their venues. Basically it's an embarassment to the reporter and the website. I'm pretty sure he'll have his team ready to play. It doesn't mean anything except gives us something to make fun of.

In looking at their schedule who are the big crowds and the big venues? In just checking the only big venue in the league is Nebraska Omaha and they're still only averaging half of the attendence at the Ralph. http://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance.php

Since Potulny is the designated shooter on the power play it would be a good idea to keep a man on him during the penalty kill. Power plays are the key to Minnesota's success. Not that I want to overlook Michigan.

I'll let you know that I find that hostile and abusive.

OK fine, I never thought that Red Baron was responsible. (I figure they just wrote the check). I want to know who is responsible. Why don't they just give us an explanation and an apology. Frankly if the WCHA doesn't feel they have to answer their fans a boycott of WCHA sponsors might be the only way to put pressure on them.

My computer has a video capture board. I record games on the Tivo for ease of recording. Then if I wish to keep the game I play it and capture it again onto the computer hard disk. From there it's a hop, skip and jump to the DVD. I've heard TIVO has a deal to move files directly to the computer (via USB?). I guess that takes an add-on expense and it's not that slick? Not that I"m afraid to do it better.
