  1. Considering the consistently poor offiiciating I think that we shouldn't give the power play teams any more advantages. If all the penalty calls were legitimate that'd be one thing. But in the WCHA you get too many phantom calls.
  2. Finley improved greatly during the season. He's going to be great.
  3. He's done better lately but he certainly hasn't set the world on fire. Currently he's -5 and eigth on his team for scoring. That's not bad, but when you consider that he's come on since Christmas you can't say the first half was that great. He's still a couple years from his potential imo.
  4. True story. I was hosting someone on Senior night. They introduced the seniors. The guy I was with was saying that it was a "good name". My reaction was to say sure, it's a great hockey family. As I said, true story.
  5. How about asking Jason Blake if his last year at UND was a good career move? That's for a guy that was skating in college with grey hair. Of course when they offer you enough money you have to take it.
  6. Good luck, you've got to take the money when it's offered. What I do wonder is the business aspect of signing these guys so early. IMO Travis Zajac won't be a NHL'r next year. Hey, now that he's signed I hope I'm wrong. If he can't contribute then why pay him while he's developing. I think the perfect example is Zach Parise. New Jersey gave him huge money when they knew that there was not going to be NHL hockey last year. This year he's doing...OK, but I don't think that NJ would be any worse off if he would have played college hockey last year. They could have left his signing bonus in the bank and had him playing for them this year. He'll continue to develop to be a solid NHL player. Of course when they offered that signing bonus Parise HAD to take it. Another thought. The players don't owe us anything. They put it out on the ice everynight. And....The NHL guys are the professionals. They have their reasons for what they do.
  7. The athletic Department dropped some off to give away for free at Home of Economy in Grand Forks. Go to customer service. I guess it's while supplies last.
  8. Perp-Itch rather than Perp-ick was what was getting me. As far as picking on UND vs BC I expect that's the line they went into the game planning on doing. It's not like they should be expected to understand the college game. Still Barry the Fairy did say some nice things about Ochie (sic).
  9. Great season guys. This game is a bit tough to take in that we basically gave it away a number of times. We're better than these guys, just not today.
  10. empty net 6-4 with 1:25
  11. In 2001 didn't we come back from 2 at the end against these guys? I was out of the country.
  12. During the commercial I backed up the TIVO and it was a terrible penalty call. It was a tap, not a slash.
  13. Jones is going hoss on some guy. Makes sense so Smaby gets the matching penalty.
  14. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
  15. Crappy ice goes both ways. Scores
  16. These guys are good keeping us from having room to maneuver.
  17. These tv announcers are worthless. They never mentioned that the hit got called.
  18. Keep the feet moving guys and we'll be alright.
  19. Funny, the technical difficulties coincided with my TIVO box not being able to find the Satellite. As soon as I got that fixed, (and a VCR tape in the other TV) the game started up again.
  20. We've come to expect unbelievable saves. He was close on the first two. BC just flippin got lucky on the third. You'll only see a bounce like that once a year.
  21. Looks like my plan to pay the BC bus driver to get lost didn't come about.
  22. I don't knock any player taking the big money. I sometimes question the economics for the business offering them that money when they might have a more valuable player in the long run. (Games vs Practice) Certainly New Jersey didn't get a finished product by having Zach Parise play in Albany last year.

    Hrkac

Another thing I remembered about Hrkac is that it seemed that he moved his stick with his eyes. That is he could react with his stick to the puck as quickly as your eyes reacted to the puck. That I haven't seemed since.
