That was a nice goal!!!!! Go Sioux!

Hello all to another year. Hope everyone's off season was good. Seems like the Sioux are having troubles finding the back off the net. Lots of missed chances

I think it is funny that you think that UND is somehow stooping to a low level, while tribal leaders will not even listen to the members of their own tribes. I think that leaders you do not listen are only after setting their own agenda and not that of the people they represent. So to me the tribal leaders are the ones that are stooping really low.

Wanted UND at Mankato and St. Cloud Tickets
sioux7>5 replied to bloodystick's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Mankato tickets do not go on sale until Oct 1 -
His tradional native american name. The mans given legal name is Ron McNeil. He is an attorney and from what little research I have done grew up in upstate New York. I am not trying to be a smart-ass but with his given last name, maybe he should worry more about the Fighting Irish then the Fighting Sioux!

I think this is a good sign for those of us that want to keep the nickname. I think His Cow is His Silence, is finally seeing that the people on the reservation support the nickname.

We've seen him play, and act, but can he sing?

Kane looks like a baby! the kid is Only 19 years old, he looks like he should still be in diapers. -
He is a punk little bitch. I hope someone puts him through the boards

Those are some great pictures Jim. Thanks for sharing. I can not imagine what being there would have been like. Very emotional would have been my guess.

Go Cavalry. I like it a lot. it is historical and ties into North Dakota. But most of all i think it could make a kick ass logo. Use the crossing swords that the military uses. It would be awesome. But after saying that. Keep the Sioux nickname if possible. If not go Cavalry!

I would much rather have Palin a heartbeat away from the Presidency then Biden I thought her speech was amazing. I just do not think that Obama has any substance at all. I think McCain and Palin would actually be able to something done. Besides the fact that Palin looks like the stripper teacher in Varisty Blues. That is just hot. A MILF for a VP. I like it!

Tha tis some funny stuff right there. Do not forget being a fine pool boy.

Can anyone give me a link or info on a place that can host a fantasy college hockey league. Any ideas for drafts, scoring, basically any help you can give me would be great. Thanks for your help.

What else do you think could have been done, please enlighten the rest of us. I think UND went above and beyond what they should have had to do.

I agree it is a very well written editorial. But, yet must agree with the writer. Why is more not being done to safe the nickname and logo. Why are the tribal leaders not even coming to the table for discussions? Why is the state not doing more? I think these are all very valid questions and should be answered.

Not one bad note because it was a pre-recorded. When I saw them, there was no way they were actually playing.

I saw ZZ Top years ago in Bismarck and to this day one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. They just stood there and it was lip synched and the music was also tracked. It was horrible.

To me it takes balls the size of Alpha-Centari(spelling)to print this garbage. What content editors are there at the Herald. To allow someone to submit this as a legitmate news story and then give the OK to print it, is at the very least pathetic and at most horrible journalism

2009 Frozen Four Ticket Confirmation Letters are out!
sioux7>5 replied to Wookie#12's topic in Men's Hockey
Got my letter confirming 4 tickets today. I am excited never been to DC and looking forward to it. -
I in no way was trying to say that one was better then the other. What I was pointing out is that the Sioux's attendance was a great accomplishment due to the fact that the GF area is a lot smaller then the twin cities. So the argument that Bucky was giving about less to do or more to do, is not really valid. My point is, I have no point it is part of my charm. Go Sioux!!
-
You live in the twin cities for diversity, when you get done with your sensitivity training let us know. What an answer, are you talking entertainment diversity? I know what you mean Bucky, there might be more to do. But as I said when you look at the attendance from a per capity stand-point even you have to admit that UND has done a great job. Believe me I am leaving the twin cities in less then two weeks for a small town and am going to miss some of the things around here. But it is not the things like the twins games or the theatre. It is the small things that I am going to miss. You can find stuff to do anywhere you live. But like going to a great bar(bucky, you know the one I mean, where I first kinda meet you). Those are things that have me struggling with this move. Oh and that my wife and son are staying here.
-
Nice rant!!!! I totally agree with you.
-
Bucky you need to get over that a little bit. SO what if there is more to do. There is also 30 times the people in Minneapolis then GF and Green Bay. So look at the attendance on a per capity basis. Minneapolis has around 3 million people and Grand Forks and surrounding area has around 96K. So take it from that perspective!

Yes but they were still showing up and suppoting. We had John Elway and wide receivers like Vance Johnson, Marc Jackson and others. While they were upset they were still supporting so I know where you are going and you are still wrong. Vikings fans are the worst in my opinion
-
Ok I hate to tell people when they are wrong, but you are wrong. KMSP had to purchase at 1500 tickets last year for one of the Vikings games and I do believe that there was at least one other game where WCCO and Fox came together and purchased remaining tickets so the game would be shown. Then on at least on other occasion the NFL gave them a day extension to try and sell remaining tickets. I know this to be a fact. I was working in the media in the twin cities area at the time. Yes other cities are bad too, but Denver is a great sports town for professional sports. But for college not as good. To your other point, there was a year when I lived in Denver the Broncos lost like 8 straight games and they still sold out every game. People were mad but they supported the team.
