Listening to TH, I kept expecting the Western onslaught to happen in the third, but the puck just wasn't in our end much. Would have been nice to get the SO for Zane, but there are much bigger fish to fry. Was it a clean 2-on-0 Parks failed to convert?

This is a very good UND team--such mobility on D, and good forwards up and down the lineup. But they sure miss a lot of prime scoring opportunities, and that's one thing that is so satisfying about getting Boeser.

For those who have been attending Western games, how are their fans? I have to think they are probably genuine hockey fans who can enjoy a beer and some hockey talk.

Agree with all that. But with the level of parity in college hockey these days, a couple of pipes or deflections can be the difference in just about any game.

With all due respect, whether Moore's hit was worthy of a game or not, it was not in the same class of dirty as the Paukovich hit on Bina.

I'm trying to get there, but it sounds like you do not think it was a late hit, but all clipping penalties should be gamers.

The fact that he did not have the puck is a good point, and it seems like a more important factor than the hit itself, and that might deserve a game or more. But it's more of this "finishing your checks" stuff that I've always had some problem with. Drake had just touched the puck shortly before that, and guys get run all the time after they have lost contact with the puck. I'm not justifying it--more hits should get called that fall under finishing checks, IMO. Would that check have been a minor if Drake had still been carrying the puck? Honest question--I don't know.

I don't question that, and I also don't pretend to know the rules very well. But just because Drake flipped and came down on his head doesn't automatically mean it's a game hit, does it? A good hip check will do that, and it wasn't a blind side hit or Drake would not have jumped to avoid the check. But like I say, I don't know the rules. Important thing is that he's ok.

This will be unpopular, but Moore's hit did not seem like a game hit to me.

I think it's also due to the fact that our D generally do a good job of keeping the shots on the perimeter but we aren't big in front of the net, where the garbage goals get picked up. A lot of those low angle shots end up loose in front.

Tough stretch run ahead, so we need tonight's game. Western Michigan is really playing well. Each weekend is tougher because of it, but it's sure nice to be in the toughest conference in the country. Regardless how the Penrose turns out, the boys will be fire-hardened for the tourney.
